2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights

  • Removable Tail Light Kit
  • Bypasses Vehicle Wiring
  • Magnetic Mount
  • Universal
  • Roadmaster

Avoid tapping into your towed Chevrolet Silverado 1500's electrical system by using these self-contained tow lights. Heavy-duty magnets keep lights securely in place on your towed car.

Features:

  • Allows you to legally tow your car without having to tap into its wiring
  • Eliminates risk of electrical damage to towed car
  • Attaches securely with magnets
  • Connects directly to motor home wiring, bypassing towed vehicle completely
  • Has heavy-duty vinyl casing for superior protection of wiring
  • Meets Department of Transportation standards
  • Fits all vehicles
  • Includes 2 lights and wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector
  • Length of wire:
    • Wire that connects the lights: 53-1/2"
    • Wire that extends out the back of the light: 243"
    • Wire with 4-pole connector: 35-1/2"
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

The law requires that all towed cars have functional signal and brake lights in sync with the RV towing them. Most wiring kits require you to splice into your vehicle's electrical system, but doing this can void your manufacturer's warranty. Magnetic tow lights avoid this problem by having the wiring run underneath your car and plug into your power source.

These lights have worked flawlessly for the whole 2023 camping season on my RV towed vehicle. I mount them on the rear of the roof so they are nice and high above bicycles on a hitch mounted rack.

by:

Extremely happy with the tow bar wiring. Not one problem for the year!

by:
Jeep

They were shipped fast and arrived quickly. These are quality lights with very strong magnets. I installed them on my Jeep in no time after making some steel brackets for the tubular aluminum bumper. Would be nice to have 5 or 6 magnetic clips to place along the wire to secure it to the vehicle. I highly recommend these lights.

Timely receipt. have not installed yet. but the instructions seem simple enough.

by:
2005 Subaru Forester

I like these lights, nice strong magets hold them securely to car roof. I use them because my bikes in bags cover my tail lights. I added LED bulbs because when I tow the car with my RV these additional lights put to much load causing voltage drop and dim lights.

These lights are still working well only improvement I could suggest is if they could somehow maybe put up plastic layer between the magnets and the roof because they’re taking paint off, if they could still make the magnet is strong.

Jeep Wrangler

I purchased the Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs. initially I was Leary of the product because of its low price compared to other tow bars. I now can say my concerns were needless because after flat towing my Wrangler over 5,000 trouble-free miles I have nothing negative but only positives to report. The best thing I like about the tow At is that it only takes 5 minutes to attach and unhook.

by:

by:

Fast delivery. Did a test as soon as I received the light kit. Flawless. Magnets very strong but safe for car finish.

by:

Heavy duty magnets gave me the security of knowing they wouldn’t come off. Very easy to install!

by:

I did a mock-up set-up and this kit works as advertised.
Magnetic bases are strong, it should fit my needs perfectly.

by:

is far better than I expected....very nice. I should have gotten this sooner!!!

by:

Very simple product. Exactly what I wanted. I need to do something more permanent but this worked for our trip. The most important thing was I needed it fast and I got it in time.
Friendly and informative people on the phone were knowledgeable and new their product. I will shop here again.

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1995 Jeep Wrangler with a Falcon 5250 Tow Bar
Tow bars are not vehicle specific but the base plates are. You can use the Falcon 5250 tow bar with your 1995 Jeep Wrangler as long as you first install the correct base plates, see link. Either set will be compatible with the 5250 tow bar. You will also need safety cables like # RM-643, a lighting solution, and supplemental braking. Also check the vehicle owners manual for more information on recreational towing of the Wrangler. For lighting there are several possible options. If you...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2012 Subaru Impreza WRX Hatchback
There is an adapter to go from Roadmaster base plates to Blue Ox tow bars. However, you will have to use the XL style base plates # 919-1. Then you can use adapter # BX88178. You said you bought the tow bar used, if it did not include the safety cables then you will need to add some using # BX88196. You will also need a lighting solution when flat towing the vehicle. If you will not be towing it very often then I recommend a magnetic kit # RM-2120. But if you want a more permanent solution...

  • Accessories for Flat Towing 2001 Chevy Silverado 2WD with Manual Transmission
To flat tow a vehicle, you will need a base plate kit, a tow bar, safety cables, a lighting solution so that the towed vehicle has taillights that respond with those of the motorhome and a supplemental braking system. There are several different Roadmaster base plate kits that might be compatible with your truck. To determine which is the correct one for your truck, you will need to locate the three threaded holes on the side of the front frame member. Use a ruler to transfer the location...

I'm not quite sure by what you mean by what you need as far as the "transmission and powertrain", would you be able to get back to me as far as what parts you are specifically asking about? Also, for any information I would need to know what model of 1979 Jeep you have.

  • Wiring 1996 Geo Tracker for Flat Towing
The # C56175 would be installed on your Tracker if you wanted to tow a trailer with it, but it will not work for towing the Tracker behind a motorhome. To wire the vehicle for flat towing there are several available systems, as you can see in the article I have linked you to. A magnetic towing light kit like # RM-2120 would be an easy to use, easy to install alternative. If you would prefer a permanently-wired alternative, the article outlines how to determine which choice is best for...

  • Compatibility of Roadmaster Falcon Tow Bar with MX Base Plates
According to my Roadmaster representative, their older # 5250 Falcon tow bar is indeed compatible with MX base plates. To wire the tow vehicle and the CRV together, there are some different alternatives. A wiring kit like # RM-154 from Roadmaster would permanently tap into the vehicle's wiring. I've linked a video of the install for you. A bulb and socket kit like # RM-155 would permanently install an extra bulb into each taillight assembly. The installation is permanent, but allows the...

  • Wiring Recommendation to Flat Tow a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta Behind a 2001 Volkswagen Eurovan
There are several ways that you can wire your Toad depending on a few factors including how frequently you want to tow the vehicle, the type of supplemental braking system used, and if you wan a more permanent or temporary solution for lights. If you will not be towing the Jetta often then I recommend a magnetic kit like # RM-2120 that will plug into the 4-Way flat once installed on the Eurovan. This bypasses the vehicle wiring so you do not have to worry about using a brake light relay...

  • Can I Flat Tow a 2013 Honda Accord or a 2004 Mini Cooper?
I did some research and you'll want to confirm this in the owner's manual of your 2013 Honda Accord, but it appears that all models of the Accord must be towed on a tow dolly in the same manner as your 2009 Altima. Unfortunately it appears that the only vehicle you've listed that can be flat towed is your 2005 Mini Cooper- which considering your leg issues probably isn't your desired option. I still recommend that you consult the owners manual of your Mini before flat towing it to confirm...

  • Is 2004 Subaru Forester Trailer Wiring Harness Strong Enough for Yakima Rack and Roller Trailer
If your Yakima Rack and Roll trailer was made after October 2010 then that would mean it has LED lights on it. LED lights draw very little power compared to incandescent lights and using them and 2 additional lights are well within the abilities of the trailer wiring harness on your 2004 Subaru Forester Turbo. Even if the lights were not LED, the lights on older versions of the Rack and Roll trailers would likely not be enough power draw to be a problem, even considering adding 2 more...

The inclusion of the charge line is definitely nice to have included, and the fold away handle makes it much more compact than the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR.
