Best Base Plates and Flat Towing Set Up for a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Blue Ox Aladdin Tow Bar

Blue Ox base plates # BX1128 are the best option for use with the Aladdin tow bar on your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited.

We haven't had the chance to install these base plates on a Grand Cherokee yet so we don't have a video, it is possible that an internet search will reveal a video. What I can do is link the installation instructions for you to the right. I have also linked a review video of the tow bar.

In addition to the base plates and tow bar (the tow bar comes with safety cables already) you will also need a lighting solution and supplemental braking.

For lighting the best solution if you will not be towing the vehicle frequently is to use a magnetic kit such as # C-ATL20A. For a more permanent solution the best option is a diode kit, # RM-154.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the easiest systems to set up and use is the Even Brake proportional system # RM-9400. It will apply the Jeep brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the easiest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.

In order for the braking system to work properly you will also need stop light switch kit # RM-751449. I have linked a video showing how the even brake installs on a similar vehicle.
