The Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms item # 179-2, would be the best choice for towing your 4 wheel drive 2000 Chevrolet Blazer.

Along with the Tow Ready Adjustable Tow Bar, 5,000 lbs, item # 63180, you will also need the Roadmaster Base Plate to Tow Ready Tow Bar Adapter, item # RM-025, and a Roadmaster Tow Bar Quick Disconnect Kit, item # RM-201, to disconnect the tow bar from the Blazer and be able to remove the drawbars. Keep in mind that this tow bar is rated for towing speeds of 45 miles per hour or less.

A better tow bar option would be the RoadMaster Tracker Tow Bar, # RM-020, which is designed for towing long distances and more frequently. With this tow bar you will need a set of Quick Disconnects, # RM-201, to easily connect and disconnect the tow bar from the base plates.

Safety cables are also required. The RoadMaster 68 inch Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables, item # RM-643, work well with the Tow Ready Tow Bar and the Roadmaster base plates.

You will also need wiring to activate the blazers tail light system when traveling. The Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, item # RM-154, is the best way to go for frequent towing. If you will not be towing the Blazer frequently you might want to check out our Magnetic Towing Light Kit, item # RM-2120.

Finally a supplemental braking system is needed to safely stop the tow vehicle and towed vehicle. One of the easiest systems to install is the Roadmaster Even Brake, # RM-9400.
