Erickson Ratchet Straps - EM04418

  • Retractable
  • 6 - 10 Feet Long
  • S-Hooks
  • 0 - 1 Inch Wide
  • 351 - 500 lbs
  • Erickson
  • 4 Straps
  • Trailer
  • Truck Bed

Bright red tie-downs pair quick-release action with a retractable design for easy loading and unloading of your gear. Strap automatically retracts into the housing and releases with the push of a button. Includes carrying case. 1,200 lbs Max load.

Features:

  • Tie-downs are perfect for securing your gear
    • Strap down gear in your truck bed, trailer, cargo carrier, or roof rack
    • Secure your ATV, UTV, or boat for trailering
  • Retractable straps automatically wind up into the built-in housings with the push of a button
    • Minimal ratcheting is required to tighten down straps
    • Keeps excess strap from tangling or flapping in the wind
  • Ratchet mechanisms make it easy to tighten down straps and maintain tension on straps
    • Ribbed plastic handles are easy to grip
  • Push buttons on ratchets quickly and easily release straps when you're ready to unload
  • Rubber coating on S-hooks helps prevent scratches on your cargo
  • Bright red polyester webbing is easy to see
  • Handy carrying case is included

Specs:

  • Strap dimensions: 1" wide x 10' long
  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 400 lbs
  • Maximum load (break strength): 1,200 lbs
  • Quantity: 4 ratchet straps
  • 90-Day limited warranty

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Retractable Ratchet Straps

These retractable ratchet straps are an upgrade over standard ratchet straps. To use the straps, begin by pushing the button on the ratchet and pulling out as much strap webbing as needed. Secure the hook to an anchor point, and then ratchet the remaining slack to make sure your gear is held down tight. Because these straps are retractable, there will already be tension on the strap when you begin to ratchet, meaning that you'll spend less time tightening the straps down. When it's time to unload, push the button on the ratchet to release the strap. Then unhook the strap and push the button again to automatically retract the strap back into the housing. This feature also keeps loose ends neatly wound up so they aren't flapping in the wind or getting dirty during your haul.

The Erickson retractable ratchet works great on our Attachit Straps that provide a safer way for our customers and their teams to move bulky items on hand trucks or dollies. Our product combined with the ratchet strap secures items vertically and horizontally. Having a strap attached to your hand truck will encourage its use and prevent injuries and product spoilage.

by:

Awesome ratchet straps; highly recommend. Excellent service from Etrailer. Wonderful to do business with.

by:

Great tie downs for daily use.

by:

I've been using the Erickson 10' retractable ratchets on our patented Attachit Straps and our multi-directional Hand Truck 360's for a few years now. We have ordered the ratchets several times and appreciate the prompt service, delivery, and packaging. The Erickson ratchets work well, are less messy--just push the button and the strap retracts. Our customers appreciate the straps also.

by:

Love them! I've used ratchet straps for years. These are the easiest ones I've ever used. And when you undo them, they retract and store easily
Highly recommend.

by:

I love my Erickson Re-Tractable ratchet straps I got. They are easy to use & I like that there is no extra strap to have to tie off. It takes me about half the time it used to,to strap things to my trailer.

They are still working great. I would recommend them to anyone that dont like tying off exes strape.

by:

If you don’t need a 25 foot strap and you’re not trying to tie-down an elephant these self-retracting straps are ideal. I use them to secure items inside my RV storage compartments and securing lawn chairs on my rear ladder rack. No more fumbling with extra strap I don’t need or use.

by:

These just did not work out for me holding an ATV down on a trailer. The releases are very difficult to press. They stretch or compress under pressure. One of them snapped after only 3 uses. I cannot recommend these. The retractor feature is nice, but they just don't last or work as I had hoped. I can't use them any more.

by:

As always, the order arrived on time, and packaged well. Although, the handy
carrying case for the straps was damaged, “by the shipper I believe”, in transit, as
the box was crushed in one corner. But as always, I am absolutely satisfied with
etrailer, and will always be my first source for any track, or trailer needs.

by:

Shipping was fast. I could track my order in detail after it was placed. I'm extremely happy with my purchase. It's nice that they even come with a case for storage. The ratchet straps look like they are of excellent quality. I'm very happy I purchased them through etrailer. com. I will most likely be a return customer to them for other products.

by:

Of the 8 straps I purchased only one broke in the last 12 months. I use these 3-4 days a week. The retraction spring is starting to get week but still does a good enough job. Overall very satisfied with these straps! The 2" straps are great too

by:

These are replacing standard straps, friend has these same retractables and they work really well and easy to use.

Very very good

by:

So much faster and more convenient, and no loose ends to deal with.

by:

Very nice straps that appear sturdy and the self retracting is what got me to buy them. I'll use them to strap my motorcycle down when i haul it and the self retracting will keep it less cluttered when it's unloaded.

by:

It is by far the best ratchet strap I have ever owned! I threw all my other straps in the trash.
Very easy to use and one of the best purchases I made last year

by:

I have bought these before and found them to be the best ever tie down straps made. No fuss, no muss. Pull them out and push the button to retract. I love them!

by:

I haul furniture in my truck all the time, and these Erickson retractable ratchet straps and quick, easy and save to use!!

by:

You can't beat retractable tiedowns. No extra strap flying in the air and so much more convenient and faster.

by:

These are the best straps, easy to use and even easier to store.

I have bought 4 more sets and have friends who have also bought these!!

by:

Honestly I dont like ratchet straps but So far I really like these ratchet straps.

by:

I just received these and impressed with how they work. Much easier than my old ratchet straps and no loose end to contend with. If they prove to be durable I would give them 5 stars. The carrying case seems flimsy but not sure how long I will use it.

by:

I've been using these for about 10 years and finally had to
replace them. Not because they broke or stopped working, the
straps became frayed to the point I thought they were not safe to use. The new ones look to be as good if not better than the first ones I've been using. Great product and I really like not having to deal with the loose end flapping in the wind.

by:

I like the racket straps, they work great. Great thing to buy, they came fast, thank you.

by:

Easiest tie down straps I've ever used.

  • What Do you Recommend for 3 Kayaks, Exterior Storage, and 12 Fishing Rods?
I have a solution for you. For 2 of your kayaks, your fishing rods (maximum of 12), and a covered 18 cu. foot cargo box, I recommend the Malone Ultimate Angler MegaSport Trailer with Saddle Style Carriers - Fishing Rod Tubes - 1,000 lbs # MPG550-AU. The reason why you should go with a trailer as opposed to a hitch cargo carrier and a roof rack is because those options will not allow you to transport all the accessories you want to transport. The great thing about having the Angler MegaSport...

  • Ratchet Strap Recommendation that Can be Bolted Directly to the Trailer Frame
I have an option that will work for you, but, the Erickson Ratcheting Tie-Down Straps # EM04418 were not designed to be bolted to the frame of a trailer. Instead, I would take a look at theRetractable Ratchet Straps for Thule TracRac Truck Bed Ladder Racks - Qty 2, Item # CBTH12 The ratchet of this product is designed to be bolted down.

  • Will Adco Class C RV Storage Cover 290-36042 Fit 2004 Four Winds Chateau 31Z
RV roof covers like the Adco # 290-36042 for Class Cs like your 32-1/2-foot 2004 Four Winds Chateau 31Z are made to fit a range of RV lengths but they do not take into account any added height from accessory items like wheel ramps. The cover will certainly fit and secure properly to the RV since it works on RVs up to 36-feet in length but it is possible that the anchor straps will not reach down to the ramps. It is possible you will need additional tie-downs like # EM04418 to secure the...

  • Recommended Cargo Carriers Popular With A 2012 Honda CR-V
For your 2012 Honda CR-V, there are two different trailer hitch receiver sizes, so a couple different popular options due to that. For a 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver, the most popular is the 17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" Hitches lbs # C18145. This carrier has a straight shank for greater ground clearance, but it does not have a folding feature. The sides and the metal floor provide many attachment points for tie down straps like # EM04418 or the Cargo Net 36" x 48" # CS54FR. I recommend...

  • Is There a Four Pack Of Erickson Re-Tractable Ratchet Straps w/ Push Button Release?
It sounds like you're looking for the Erickson Retractable Ratchet Straps # EM04418. This is a quantity of four that has the same ratings as the # EM34415 you had looked at, but has a red strap instead of black. The black strap version is only available in a 2-pack like you looked at.

  • Are All Hitch Cargo Carriers Ok to Use at 80MPH?
Yes! Since cargo carriers like the 22-1/2x49 Curt Cargo Carrier - 2" Hitches - Aluminum # C18113 do not have a maximum highway speed rating, you will be safe in driving at 80mph. We have had lots of neighbors who have traveled at those speeds and never report issues. With that being said, it is important to have the proper securing methods. If you have a lot of medium-sized cargo, the Curt Stretchable Cargo Net - 43" Long x 24" Wide # C18202 works great with the # C18113; if you have larger...

  • Can Erickson Ratcheted Tie-Down Ropes be Used to Secure Lumber on Roof of a 2006 Chevy Malibu Maxx
I would not recommend a rope tie down such as # 01801 for transporting lumber on the roof of your 2006 Chevy Malibu Maxx. Using ratchet straps such as # EM04418 provides more surface area contact with the wood and you can get them tighter than # 01801. If you were to use # 01801 or something similar I would recommend putting eye bolts in the ends of each piece of wood on each side, running the rope through those, and securing the rope at the front and rear of the vehicle. Then you could...

  • Tie Downs and E-Track Recommendation for Securing a BMW K1200, ATV, and Dirt Bike on a Trailer
I would recommend using 2 sections of Horizontal E-Track, # E19148, down each side and 2 sections of Horizontal E-Track down the middle of your trailer, 6 sections in all, to give you as many tie down options as possible for securing all of your different toys. Your BMW K1200 sounds like the heaviest item you will need to tie down. I recommend using 2 packages of the Retractable Ratchet Straps, # 34414, along with 4 of the E-Track Tie-Off Rings, # 59131. Four tie down points are needed...

  • Recommendation For Hauling Two Mobility Scooters
While there aren't any cargo carriers that would fit two mobility scooters or even be able to handle the weight of two, you do still have the option of using a trailer like the Detail K2 Mighty Multi Utility Trailer # K2MMT4X6. The loading gate isn't the best for a mobility scooter so I recommend getting some loading ramps # 288-07474-2 as well. You can use some tie-down straps like # EM04418 to secure your scooters to the trailer.

  • Cargo Net Divider For Interior of 2012 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
From what I was able to find, the interior dimensions of your 2012 Sprinter are 72" x 70". You could use a cargo net like the Gladiator # GC94FR which is 6' 9" x 8'. There will be a little extra but nothing overly excessive. It comes with 4 ratchet straps but you could add some like the # EM04418 for added security. The ratchet straps will make it easily removable when not in use. Then you would need to mount your D-rings like the # 3486554 or # 337B46 if you don't already have them....

  • Roof Rack and Tie Downs to Carry Lumber on a 2014 Nissan Juke
What I recommend is to add some load stops to the roof rack crossbars so that you can support the load side to side and use straps to secure the lumber front to back and tie off to the load stops. First you will need a roof rack for your 2014 Nissan Juke. The most cost effective roof rack that is a true custom fit is from Inno using square bars # INB117, feet # INSUT, and fit kit # INK399. Then for load stops I recommend # TH503 because they are designed to fit Tule square bars which...

This carrier also has multiple connection points for securing your snow blower with ratchet straps like Erickson Re-Tractable Ratchet Straps w/ Push-Button Releases - 1" x 10' - 400 lbs - Qty 4, Item # EM04418, that can be easily used even with winter gloves...
