Recommended Cargo Carrier For An 87lb Mobility Scooter Towed With A Toyota Sienna
Question:
Hi...would this function to transport a mobility scooter 41inch length 21width 87lbs or what else is better with a 2hitch on a toyota sienna van...I also like the curt all aluminum part #18113 but am a little concerned the scooter might not be secured enough and could pop off the carrier...also the curt #18152 may be an option? Thank you, Alex

The 23x47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # M2200 does have enough room to properly carry your mobility scooter based on the dimensions you provided.
22-1/2x49 Curt Cargo Carrier # C18113 is just a bit too tight to fit your scooter so I would not recommend this cargo carrier.
The 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # C18152 would also have enough space to properly carry your scooter.
All of these cargo carriers have a large enough weight capacity to carry your 87lb scooter, but of the three I recommend going with the 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier # C18152. This carrier has the best options for tie down points to ensure that your scooter is tightly secured to the carrier. To secure it to the carrier you can use some ratchet straps like the # EM04418.
While the carrier is capable to handle the weight I do recommend checking your Sienna's tongue weight capacity to ensure that the hitch can handle the weight as well.
