Securing your boat's stern to your trailer is quick and easy with these 1" wide tie-downs. Ratchet straps are simple to hook up, retract automatically and mount permanently, so you can get on and off the water quickly. 1,400 lbs Max load.

  • Dual-release lever and self-retracting design allow for easy, rapid loading and unloading
    • Unused strap retracts into housing - minimal ratcheting and convenient storage
  • Vinyl-coated steel S-hooks help protect your boat's paint finish
  • Permanently mounts to your trailer with 1 bolt - mounting hardware included
  • Durable construction offers long-lasting performance

Specs:

  • Strap dimensions: 1" wide x 6' long

  • Maximum load strength (break strength): 1,400 lbs
  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 466 lbs
  • Quantity: 2 transom (stern) straps
  • 1-Year limited warranty

BoatBuckle's second-generation ratchet straps are designed to keep constant tension on the strap and require minimal ratcheting to secure your load. When not in use, the strap retracts into the ratchet housing, meaning no more having to deal with tangled straps.

Installation

These straps come with the mounting hardware that you'll need to install them. It is recommended that you use anti-seize (LT37616 - sold separately) to ensure that the nuts are properly tightened down over the bolts. A universal mounting bracket kit (IMF16777 - sold separately) is available to provide multiple mounting options.

Note: Transom tie-downs should always be used along with a winch strap and a set of gunwale tie-downs. All straps and cables should be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). To determine the maximum load, or break strength, of the strap, simply multiply the WLL by 3. The WLL is always one-third (1/3) of the maximum load.

Product works exactly as describe. Easy to install with fasteners provided. I bought the bracket kit so the rachet would miss my taillamp on trailer. I have a tracker 175 TXW bass boat. Tiedowns that came with boat scratched my new boat. These straps installed with clearance to boat so they dont scratch. Ratchet system works great. They dont come loose like my original straps do when i drive. This makes launching the boat easier and quicker.

by:

These work really well. It would be helpful to provide a selection of brackets to fit different trailers.

by:

Very convenient. However, after just one season, the plastic coating on the hooks cracked and the metal underneath rusts like nothing I have used before. They were not abused and not exposed to salt water. I was hoping for longer longevity.

One season later it has not degraded much further.

by:

Works well used it for a year now for my pwc.

I'm disabled and need to use a scooter to get around. I had a scooter lift installed on my Toyota RAV4. The OEM ratchet type tie downs were very expensive. Ratcheting transom Tie Downs do the same thing. I purchased the IMF-106877 racing tie downs and installed them on my scooter lift. Perfect

by:

Nice winches, had to make a couple brackets to fit on my shorelander trailer because tail lights were on the end of tubes. Now don’t have to look for old straps anymore .

by:

These are the best thing I have added to my trailer. Should have bought them a long time ago. Makes launching and loading much easier. They do the job on my 17ft Lowe boat. Fast shipping and communications. Thanks etrailer !!!!

by:

Great addition to the trailer. Makes strapping my boat some much easier and faster

by:

No more messing with tangled straps, lost straps or broken ratchets. These just plain work better, faster, and if you're constantly loading a boat on and off these are a must. I am a working fishing guide so my boat is on and off the trailer every day and these make it a painless experience at the boat ramp. Get them and get over the constant strap struggle.

I still cant recommend these boat buckles enough. Never fail.

Just received my boatbuckle & looking forward to using it but what was really amazing was how fast etrailer shipped it.Within an hour from ordering I received a message saying it was shipped. I wish all businesses worked this way.

I like the product very much.Glad I bought it.

by:

These BoatBuckles bolted right on with provided hardware in five minutes. These great working bolted on straps are always where you need them and keep your boat safely attached to the trailer and eliminates damaging bunk or roller slap.

by:

Not as strong as the rod savers retractable tie down straps but seam to be working great.

Great

by:

After using these 5 times in salt water (flushing with fresh water afterwards) one rusted shut making it unusable. I was hoping for better results

I reached out to the manufacturer and they advised that yes unless the buckles are stainless steel then they will rust when around salt water. They do offer a stainless-steel version part # IMF14256.

by:

These straps work great for a few trips. I use mine about 5 days a week February through July and mine stopped retracting after about 3 launches. Now when I launch my boat I have to hook the straps on my trailer because they won’t go back in, or I have to manually crank them every time. They still hold my boat great but if they stop doing that I will probably go back to normal straps.

by:

Had already purchased these type of retractable ratcheting tie-downs at Harbor Freight Tools. The bolt hole was hidden inside the unit, making mounting very hard. Regular box wrench or socket did not fit into the area, I had to un roll the strap and use Vise-Grips. Once mounted, and pressure was applied, the buckle's metal frame slightly twisted. The twisted frame would no longer allow the buckle to retract automatically, or manually with normal leverage. Totally wasted time and money.

These buckles have a much stronger frame and the mounting hole is out in the clear for easy mounting. The metal around the mounting hole is also rounded so you can place the strap at any angle and the handle will not hit the trailer frame.

Wave runners are strapped down tight for the trip, and ready for fun.

I own a 16' Bass Tracker ProGuide. It weighs over 1200 pounds. Securing my boat is easy and simple without straps that used to loosen and fall off. The strap extends and contracts back into the housing without any problems. It shortens the time and steps off of unloading and loading of your boat. My buddy loves these buckles!

by:

Installed in minutes and works great. Fast and easy hookup and release from boat. Very satisfied with this purchase.

by:

The ratchet works out great for securing my boat to the trailer. Quick and easy! No more getting your finger pinched using the other style tightening devices. When launching the boat, you need to disconnect and remove the other style tie downs back in your vehicle so no one takes them. this way they stay secured to the trailer and there so easy to secure the boat to the trailer. I'm a senior, and I wish they had these tie downs a lot sooner. I love them!

by:

saw boat buckles on a friends boat trailer and had to get them. Had them awhile now and like everything about them. get the stainless ones if your in salt water.

by:

I purchased these to replace the Erickson straps that came with my trailer. I already replaced the Erickson's twice, so I wanted to try a different brand. The Boat Buckle seems to be much higher quality and smoother operation. Hopefully they will have much better longevity than the Erickson's.

by:

The best buckle for my jetski trailer! I also used the universal bracket they make to do a bolt on mounting. Best prices also!

by:

The BoatBuckles are very good quality and served the purpose for which I brought them. I am very pleased with etrailer.

by:

One of those "Why didn't I think of this?" products. A simple idea that works perfectly. Quick, one bolt installation and no more loose straps to keep up with. I do wish the hooks faced opposite directions, but as pictured, they both face the same way. As usual, etrailer.com is easy to deal with and ships promptly.

by:

Excellent product. etrailer is the only place I have found this size of boat buckle. Reasonably price and fast service as always from etrailer.

by:

Easy to install and use. The only thing I wish is they would make BoatBuckle Mini G2 in stainless steel

  • BoatBuckle G2 Retractable Transom Tie Down Straps For a 3,000LB Wooden Boat
If you are set on a G2 style transom strap the BoatBuckle Mini G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Downs # IMF106877 will be 6' in length. These are the only straps over 43" that BoatBuckle has in a transom strap. Each strap has a working load limit of 466lbs. Remember that since you are securing the boat to the trailer the working load is considered for the lightest object. So rather than considering holding a 3,000lb boat to the trailer, you will consider it as holding your trailer...

  • What is Extra Hole for on BoatBuckle Mini G2 Retractable Transom Tie-Downs IMF106877
The holes are 1/2 inch in diameter for the BoatBuckle Mini G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Downs - 6' Long - 466 lbs # IMF106877, the same as the mounting bolt hole, but they can't be used with a thru bolt to attach a strap with a looped end. The reason they are there is to give an option for permanent installation so it's simply another mounting bolt hole and should not be used for any other reason as that would potentially compromise the BoatBuckle Mini G2 Retractable, Ratcheting...

  • Will BoatBuckle Transom Tie-Downs Work With Boat and Trailer
The BoatBuckle Pro Series Kwik-Lok Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF17633 have a break strength of 1,200 lbs and since this exceeds the 1,175 lbs of your trailer they will work for you because you must have straps with a break strength that exceeds the weight of your trailer; the next rating up for 6 foot straps would be the BoatBuckle Mini G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Downs # IMF106877 which have a break strength of 1,400 lbs.

  • Recommended Transom Straps For a Distance of 17 Between Mounting Hole and Stern Eye Mount
Yes, the 6' BoatBuckle Mini G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Downs # IMF106877 will work with your boat trailer with 17" from the mounting hole to the stern eye on your trailer. The strap will have a minimum distance of approximately 8" . I would recommend going with the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Tie-Down # IMF14393 as it is constructed of stainless steel. Since this will be bolted to your stern and constantly submerged in water it will hold up better over time. The...

The BoatBuckle Mini G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Downs # IMF106877 are rated for 1,400 pounds break strength and 466 pounds working load limit. I recommend going with a higher capacity set such as # IMF08893 rated for 2,500 pounds break and 833 pounds working load limit per strap. Even # IMF14256 would be a better option at 1500 pounds break and 500 pounds working load limit.

  • Recommended BoatBuckle Tie-Downs for Replacing Damaged BoatBuckles on a Shoreliner Boat Trailer
It sounds like the previous owner had the BoatBuckle G2 2 inch wide x 43 inches long Transom Tie-Downs # IMF08893 (833lbs), the stainless steel BoatBuckle 2 inch wide x 43 inches long tie-downs (500lbs) # IMF14256, or the mini G2 tie-downs # IMF106877 1 inch wide x 6 foot long (466lbs). I wish there was a way to replace the strap but the best thing for you to do is to replace the units. I have linked the above mentioned products to this page for your viewing and purchasing convenience.

  • Retractable Strap Recommendation to Install on Venture Aluminum Boat Trailer
I'd recommend going with the # EM34423 instead as it's closer to the length you need as it is 5-1/2 feet long and it has a higher capacity at 1,333 lbs working load limit and 4,000 lbs break strength. The ratchet portion could easily be attaches at the loop where you current strap is located.

  • Availability of Boatbuckle Mini in Stainless Steel
Boat Buckle doesn't offer an all stainless version of the Mini, as they do with the G2. On the # IMF106877 you referenced, the spring itself is stainless, but the remainder of the unit is constructed of plastic and steel. If a 4 foot ratcheting strap set-up would work for you, rather than the bolted in place Boat Buckle offers the # IMF12066 in stainless. If you were really wanting a bolted in place solution, the full-sized version # IMF14256 would work for you.
