Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this replacement 80-inch long upper rubber cover strip for the Thule ProBar crossbars. Now, this part here will replace the rubber cover strip on the top of your Thule ProBar crossbars. Works with part number TH712400, part number TH713600, or part number TH713700. All three of those crossbars we do sell separately on our website.
Now, basically this rubber strip here will install into the T-slot of the crossbar. And this strip will help keep out any water or road grime, reduces road noise, and it gives the bars a nice, finished, professional look. I mentioned total length is 80 inches long, but it can be cut to fit your crossbar. And this part does include one cover strip. Just want to show you the cutaway of it.
You can see this portion here is what'll insert into the T-slot. And then they also give the nice cover finish look to the crossbar. But that should do it for the review on this replacement 80-inch long upper rubber cover strip for the Thule ProBar crossbars..

Measures 80" long - can be cut to fit your bars.This product is not a Thule product but I would guess that Thule purchases this product and places it in a bag with their label on it for the Thule branded items. There is no difference and if you need the longer rubber strips this is it. This item fits the Thule Aero bars that I have it is just cut to fit. If you are missing this rubber piece and you are getting a loud whistle a new rubber strip will solve that problem.

Perfect! Just what I needed! I used this Thule part on my Yakima Overhaul HD Crossbar to replace the Yakima part number 8001166 "Yakima Top Infill" since that Yakima part was out of stock everywhere. Fits and fills the upper and lower T-slot perfectly.

Item # TH97JH while not advertised as fitting the stock VW rack for my 2017 VW GTI fit just as I suspected. The stock rack does not come with the rubber cover strip. If you check this application you will see the rubber strip fit securely into the track on the stock VW rack
I replaced the slippery cover strips on my Yakima HD Bars with this product, and the difference is AMAZING! If you are mounting things directly on the bars, I can't recommend it enough to help eliminate things sliding around. I made a video on the topic that's about 7 minutes: Huge shoutout to etrailer as well. I contacted them about another Thule strip they carried. It wasn't the correct one, but they reached out to Thule and brought this product into their assortment. It took a while to get it since they had just started carrying it (i.e., it wasn't in their inventory), but I wasn't in a hurry and I preferred buying from etrailer (rather than Thule) given the great CS I've always received from etrailer.
This is a temporary replacement until the original part is available on the Thule website. Used on my Thule Aeroblade and it is doing it's job, no more whistling sound. Did have to cut to fit, but using a box cutter does the trick.
This worked fine on my RB53 Rapid Aero bars, and much more economical than the ones designated for the bars. Great customer service from etrailer as always.
Good replacement to strip on 2006 Volvo S40 load bar. Price was best I could find.
Placed order on Friday and received next Monday. Product was perfec, just as I expected.

The Thule rack has been on my truck for 12 years out in the weather 24-7. The original rubber strip became loose when sliding something off the rack and then blew off at highway speeds. I felt luck to find the replacement rubber and it is holding up well with time and use. Highly recommend the product.
