This purchase was a replacement for the exact vent that I purchased in 2020. Originally I gave this product a high rating. One year later as requested I updated my review noting the plastic had turned yellow, the locking tabs for the vent door required a ladder to operate and the vent flap was annoying as, unless it was locked, would clatter in the slightest breeze. This month 2023 I was washing the rv in preparation for a trip and I hit the center of the vent hood with a wash brush. The center "reinforcing" post broke off and the vent hood cracked. The plastic was not only yellow but now was also quite brittle. This is the third vent for the rv. The original 2006 Ventline lasted until 2020. The second 3 years. I purchased another as I was about to go on a trip and knew the replacement would be a no hassle install. etrailer expedited the shipment and generously waived shipping fees in consideration of the previous replacements short life span. I greatly appreciate their high quality customer service.
The vent that I just received is, as other reviewers have noted, constructed of thin material and was apparently not trimmed after being removed from the mold. I will shop around before replacing with another Dexter Ventline again.

This worked well on our airstream. Just needed aluminum paint for plastic.

Still working great, after several thousand miles of travel. The paint that I applied has held up. well.

by:

Only took 15 minutes to install I used my screws from my original vent. So easy and the Sealant was great it drives fast so be quick.

by:

"The original order placed had a substandard part which broke, but etrailer took care of it promptly and sent a new part without me even asking for it yet- having viewed my product review. That was impressive. The new part arrived and looks like it is not weak or defective like the first one. I'm guessing that was a one-off bad part. Thank you!"

Unfortunately, the product does not have enough UV stabilizer in the plastic and has yellowed, starting within months of it being installed. I live in Idaho, not a southern state, so I wouldnt expect this to happen as quickly as it did. Other than that, the product is still in one piece and has not gotten brittle.

Alex J was great

by:

I created a plastic gasget and used them to vent my outdoor garage tent. Summers get really hot and it just bakes everything inside. Venting helped reduce the heat and it has made a difference.

by:

Perfect replacement exactly what I needed fast shipping would definitely recommend this site to anyone

by:

I would have liked to use a heavier reinforced plastic. Ideally a light thinly constructed aluminum would survive cold climates better.

by:

Very good. Easy off and easy on. ??

Still working great! I would buy this product again.

I ordered this to replace existing exterior vent hood on my 2006 Lance 1191. It was an exact match for brand and design. No modifications necessary. Simply took out ten screws, pryed the old piece off, cleaned off the old putty and caulking and screwed the new piece into place using the same screw holes as the old one.

Working great. The vent flap can be a little annoying in a wind as it flaps . Has locking tabs but not practical to lock and unlock without a ladder. The unit has yellowed from sun exposure but still functional

by:

Easy install and does it's job.

by:

Exactly replacement for stove vent cover on my mobile home. Arrived very quickly.

Thought it broke after siding our house so we ordered another only to discover that the flap was only lodged up, out of sight. So we have a spare that we wiil probably never need. That cover is on the ocean, stormy side of our house and is still like new.

by:

I replaced my old one because the little tabs that hold it closed had broken. After I replaced it, it looks so nice and white that the whole trailer looks better. Simple product, but the ordering process was easy and the price was unbeatable by the local "camper store."

The vent is working great. Your website made it easy to the right one and I have had no issues. Thanks for the follow up. I will be purchasing all of my parts from etrailer in the future.

by:

Just as described, fast shipment
Great
company who seems to have what is needed for an RV

by:

Perfect size and being abs plastic definitely rust proof. I intend to fabricate a screen for the entry to keep out pest. Using this product as a vent for cargo van to relieve high heat build up in the hot weather. A small 12v fan will help move air out. Thought about roof vents but weary about water leakage. Wall mount vent will suffice.

by:

Still looking and working great! (except for my installation with crappy silicone, but that is my fault!)

The tabs that hold the vent closed broke after about 5 or 6 months. I have been using a pool noodle piece to keep it from flapping around and bugs from going in..

by:

After receiving this item that was shipped with my new trailer brakes, I found that it had arrived broken.

I emailed Steven and he shipped a new vent cover, no questions asked. Great service, thanks Steven!!

by:

Product is a direct factory replacement for my camper. With that said, even thought the rivet holes lined up perfectly. The main opening was 3/8ths in larger all around. Odd! Product feels slightly flimsy but so did the original. I placed a screen on the back before fastening to prevent bugs coming in if you forget the twist lock (one of mine fell off before it was installed) it is what it is.
As always etrailer's customer service is second to none. I will always check them before any purchase of this type.

by:

Mine was broke looks and fits great

by:

Fits perfectly on my Lance 865 truck ca mper.

There are no issues or concerns. Its nice to find a dealer that has parts for my Lance camper.

by:

LED tail lights from Harbor Fright both had broken lens. Could not match part number to anything. etrailer had the exact match under another manufacture. Found this out by way of a Google search. Someone else had the same problem and etrailer answered him with the part numbers. Same as mine.
Stove vent from Ventline also fit perfect.
Thank you, I'll order again.

by:

Bought some replacement exterior vents for a Casita
They were an exact match, and best price around.
Shipped extremely fast as well.
All the way around etrailer is a top notch supplier, and I would highly recommend them to any trailer owner

by:

This product was hard to find for our older 5th wheel. Found on-line thru etrailer and it fit perfect. I would recommend using etrailer for your hard to find rv parts. Ordering was easy and received in very timely manner.

by:

I have previously broken 2 of the factory type kitchen vent flaps. The pivot pin is so small that if you forget to latch it down, it breaks off and flies out the hole.
This one seems to be much better made. Time will tell but it sure looks better!

by:

Worked out O.K. for me. Had to cut away 50% of the collar so it would fit into the hole on my 'older' R.V. But for the price it was good. Wish someone would make one without the collar so it would just be a flush fit, as long as it covered the hole it would work.
Liked the locking vent flap. Keep dirt and bugs out and cold air in.
