Installed easy despite my aprehension about making a hole in my rv, vent damper cover will flap in the wind if not latched

The damper fell out of my old original range hood vent. It lasted 16 years so I can,t complain. I ordered a new vent from etrailer and it works very well. The price was more than fair also. Thank you all for providing excellent options for products and lots of info to go with them.
Cheap plastic. Started cracking and deteriorating in less than a month.

Well that stinks, luckily there is a 2 year warranty. Let me get you over to customer service to see if they can get this replaced for you.
After accidentally leaving the damper flap unlocked for the drive home, it mysteriously decided not to return home with us. It flew away mid travel I have to assume. Etrailer.com had exactly what I needed to return to stove top vent flap happiness. Highly recommended as etrailer.com stocks exactly what you need for your R.V.
Direct replacement for a 6-year old exterior wall range hood vent on my 2014 Grand Design RV. Simple installation, just 10 screws and re-caulking to keep the water out. Great price and fast shipping from etrailer.com !
Unit was not as sturdy as I expected, but it works. I added a vented hood to our RV so I cut the hole in the side and sealed the vent with putty and screws. Screws and putty were not supplied with the vent. You need to purchase those seperatly.

This vent is manufactured to leak along the bottom of the opening. The original vent leaked so I removed and resealed, still leaked. Removed second time and assumed the original vent had failed along the bottom of the opening, but given this new vent has the same issue it must just be designed to leak. I wanted to use the vent installed at the factory to eliminate the need to add more fastener holes. Will try sealing along the bottom in hopes that will finally stop the leak.
Exact replacement part. In process of changing all the white colored ports and vents. Those dingy white ports and vents look bad. They should have been black all along.
It also gives my 2005 toy hauler a newer model look. Very pleased with parts from etrailer.

Good morning! My comments are unchanged. Great dealing with etrailer, but the item itself could be made a little better. Id be willing to pay more for a better made item. This is not a reflection on etrailer. Thanks for the follow-up.
I purchased a "Ventline Exterior vent for Range Hood" to install in the upper panel of my tall Promaster's rear doors. My intent was to use the vent to aid in air circulation. The vent is covered on the exterior with an angled eave to keep rain out, and there is a flue inside the vent to seal out any air entering from the outside. In theory It would meet my design needs. However, the quality of the vent was dismal. I have tissue boxes that are better made: There was untrimmed flashing on most of the vent's edges; The "eave" is 1/16" thick and the interior rectangular conduit is even thinner (almost paper thin). The flue mechanism can only be locked shut from the outside. I was hoping this could be done from the inside of my vehicle. The description of the vent on the web-site did not specify (that I recall) where the latches were located. They are very flimsy in any event an I suspect easily broken. If I had a dog I would put it on his house, but I am not going to cut holes in my van for this marginal product. etrailer delivered the product quickly and it was packed well enough to survive its box being crushed enroute. My search for a useful quality vent will continue.
Feels kinda cheap, but it works fine, and the price was right. I Installed it in the sidewall of my cargo van conversion, and use it with a couple of computer fans for my main ventilation system. A very inexpensive solution to the problem of condensation buildup.
This was a replacement for a damaged part handled by etrailer in their usual expert manner

Really like doing business with E trailer.,esp since we are now full time RVers and the quality ,choices and,ease of ordering and especially the quick delivery are much appreciated. The vent cover we bought installed easily and is holding up well...

Was looking for a vent for my utv that I could open and close at will and came across this. Almost perfect but will fit the intended purpose.
Fast shipping and easy install… would be better if it came with stainless steel screws and butyl tape!
