Simple, Secure Hookup

E16 5th Wheel Jaw

With a dual-pivoting head that offers 10 degrees of lateral movement, the E16 fifth-wheel hitch makes hookup a snap, even on unlevel ground. Once the king pin slides into the hitch, the auto-locking, slide-bar jaw secures it in place. A unique feature of the E16 is the rear steel tension bar within the jaw that activates upon hookup to clamp down on the king pin, providing a tighter grip that maximizes security and minimizes rattle.

Non-Binding Slider

Most often used on trucks with 6' and 6-1/2' beds, this roller helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.

The round-tube design of this slider allows for relatively uninhibited movement of your fifth-wheel hitch. Because your hitch can glide smoothly and easily along the rods, there is less chance of binding.

With straight, flat contact points, as found with square-tube sliders, tension can build between the slider and the hitch when your truck and trailer are somewhat out of line or are on uneven ground. As a result, it can be difficult to properly activate the slider when your truck and trailer are not in a straight line.

With a round-tube slider, there is more give between the contacting surfaces, allowing better mobility of the hitch system. Fewer corners means less tension buildup. Activating a round-tube slider is easier, and operation as a whole is smoother.

Ford F-350 Super Duty

Doesn't operate as easily as I hoped. Sticks when trying to slide which means jumping in and out of cab many times. Also its heavy as it should be,but it doesn't come apart easily for removal in two pieces that can be lifted separately. You need a winch to remove it safely. Its a pain in the you know what. I like my old two piece hitch better. I could take it in and out in a few minutes, but it won't work in my new f350.

Arrived in three boxes. The largest looked as though Ace Ventura was the delivery man. However all the parts were inside. Took me two full hours to assemble, install, inspect and adjust. Clearly a formidable hitch for my '19 Silverado HD with PUCK system. Thankfully I have a pulley system in the garage to install/remove the entire hitch in one piece. The weight on this hitch is no joke. If you take the hitch out during non-use a pulley or hoist of some sort is a must. This is replacing a Husky which had a slightly different locking system but the Curt is rock solid and will be a great hitch for years to come. Excellent price, assembly was a challenge but the instructions were very good. One problem: the included (4) rubber shims were too thick preventing me from inserting any of the rail pins between the rail and PUCK adapter. So I didn't use them.

by:

First of all, etrailer was awesome to work with while I tried to determine what hitch I wanted, they get 5 starts. As for the hitch, installation was easy and while I feel the hitch works just fine, I would prefer one with "jaws" that lock. I would feel better if it did. That being said, I ordered this hitch simply because it was the lowest one I could find and after using it on several trip, it gets the job done. It can be locked and it easily opens and closes.

by:

I received excellent professional service and experience
Thank you for your time.

by:

Product arrived as promised. The Curt C16515 was an easy assembly and easier install. I had to remove some bed liner to allow the base plate to allow the base plate to fully engage the OEM gooseneck fittings. I think this is a great product and will fit my needs to haul my 5th wheel.

by:

Very quick and easy to install! Works g reat!

by:

Excellent service and help. My hitch came much quicker than expected especially in these times. Every thing worked out, I have a new 2021 Chev 2500hd and wanted to stick with a fixed hitch. Heigth clearance was an issue, but I was able to lower the 5th wheel pin box enough to compensate.

by:

Great customer service
I ordered online
on Sunday night and hitch was delivered on time Friday afternoon.
It took me 30 min to assemble. No adjustment needed
Only problem was the handle did not slip on. It looks like a large burr was left inside the handle preventing it from sliding all the way on. Extremely frustrating. After drilling and filing on the burr, I gave up and drilled a new hole in the handle so I could put the bolt threw... after etrailer sends me a new handle I’ll change my rating to 5stars

by:

I received my hitch in the 3 days promised, myself and my wife put it together in about an hour. It went in our ram with no adjustments needed. We picked up our new 5th the same day we put the new hitch in our truck, works great and was easy to install, a little heavy but putting it in legs 1st then the hitch head was the way to go as instructed.

by:

Good delivery

by:

Lightning fast delivery from etrailer.com! The hitch was very easy to install, works perfectly with my Ram factory tow prep package. Thanks etrailer!

by:

Poor, and disappointing. Hitch is not even close to tall enough for most any camper. Can’t even get a finger between the bed and camper. Description is not accurate. Be weary. etrailer is also charging me to return for a taller hitch. Looks like I’ll be purchasing somewhere else unless they can make it right somehow.

by:

You have to finesse the little lever in the channel where the trail puck goes into. Sometimes I even have to get up in the bed to position it before I hook up. The spring even cam loose once. Not engineered too well. Other than that it seems fine.

by:

Super easy to install in our new truck. We used the same hitch in our old truck and pulls our 38' 5th wheel with ease

by:

I have had my fifth wheel trailer since 2004 and have gone through 3 trucks and 3 different hitches.
This hitch went into a 2019 Chevy Silverado and fit like a glove. Very easy to install. Very easy to hitch to fifth wheel. I am very pleased with my purchase. It is heavy to lift and move around but once installed it is a beast. If for some reason i need to buy another hitch this would be the one i would buy.

by:

There isn't enough "play" to be able to install and remove the base. It might as well be bolted to the frame. The kingpin jams in the hitch and is difficult to unlock. I really dislike this hitch, but it gets my trailer from point A to point B, so that is worth the second star.

by:

We just recently took our first trip with our new Ford 250 and the Curt E16 5th Wheel Hitch and had a wonderful time. It hooks up easy and was easy to install in the factory installed 5th wheel hookup in the bed of the pickup. I am including a few pictures of the hitch and hookup.

by:

Does not fit very well compared to my 2 019

by:

Hitch set up and instructions easy to follow if you're even a little mechanically inclined. Only major tool needed is a torque wrench to secure bolts. Fit was good, minor adjustment needed after assembly but otherwise a good looking product at a good price with a prompt delivery.

by:

Nice hitch

by:

Checked around the local truck shops in my area and everybody was between 1200 and 1900 for hitches and then installation. Nobody wanted to install one in my factory package, everybody wanted to drill more holes. One call to retailer and I had a factory correct installment fifth wheel hitch for a third the price of the local guys. Awesome product and easy installation.

by:

The fifth wheel hitch worked great. We up graded to the Curt 24 due to getting a bigger 5th whell

Works like it should

  • How Much does BWRVK3370 Weigh?
With the entire setup of the B&W Companion # BWRVK3370, the weight of that hitch is 262 pounds. If you are looking for a lighter option, you can go with the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider for Ford Towing Prep Package # C16515-16020. With all of the components, the E16 weighs a total of 240 pounds.

The Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16515-16020, and the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3370 are great options for your 2019 Ford F-250. That said, the B&W Companion is in a league of its own. The B&W Companion unlike either of the other two options has a set of heavy duty 1" think dual steel locking jaws which do a phenomenal job of gripping the kingpin which makes for a very smooth ride with little to no chucking. The B&W Companion also has a cam-action...

  • Will the Curt E16 Slider 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Fit a 2019 Ford F-250 with OEM Prep Pkg
In order to use the Curt E16 Slider 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # 16516 on a 2019 Ford F-250 with OEM Prep Pkg you'll need an adapter, the Adapter Rails for Curt 5th Wheel Hitch part # C88KR. The other option would be to just use the Curt E16 Slider 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ford Towing Prep Package part # C16515-16020 which just drops right in so that's what I recommend.

We have two sliding fifth wheel hitches rated for 16,000 pounds that fit directly into your 2019 Ford F-250's factory puck system: the Curt E16 # C16515-16020 and A16 # C16520-16020. The other 16k sliders require an adapter. Between the two Curt hitches I recommend the A16 because of the interlocking dual jaw. It's a much more secure connection than the slide-bar style of the E16 and takes out a lot of the rattle between the hitch and king pin. You specifically said a 16k but take a...

  • Curt Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Ford F-250 Short Bed with OEM Rail Kit
The Curt E16 Slider part # C16515-16020 is a fit for the factory rail kit of your 2019 Ford F-250 short bed and easily has weight capacity for the trailer you mentioned. Now that said this is going to be a pretty noisy hitch setup since the jaw system uses a slide bar that doesn't hold the trailer's kin pin tightly at all. You'll feel the trailer hit the hitch every time you stop or take off. It's a little more money but the Curt A16 # C16520-16020 would be a much better option and is definitely...

  • Will Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Fit the Factory Puck System in a 2012 Ford F-250 SHort Bed
In order to use the Curt E16 5th wheel trailer hitch # C16115 with the factory installed prep package on a 2012 Ford F-250 you would need to use an adapter, # RP30156. Also, since you have a short bed truck, you would need the slider version, # 16516. But there is a version of this hitch that will fit directly in the factory puck system. It is # C16515-16020. That way you would not have to use an adapter so it is one less step when installing/removing the hitch from the truck.
