Can the Curt E16 Be Coupled While Slid Back Away From the Cab

Question:

I have a 2019 Ford F-250 and a 2019 Reflection 31MB. The distance between my tail gate and front of the trailer is only about 2 inches. Can the curt hitch be used to hook up only in the rear or extended position? I understand not towing in the extended position. Thanks

Although it is not ideal, you can couple your trailer to the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider part # C16515-16020 while slid back away from the cab. If you are just referring to the pin box portion of the trailer then you can use the Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate part # VG-15-4000 to give you more clearance and this is what I recommend if you only have 2" with the hitch slide up towards the cab
