Comparing Curt and B&W 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches for a 2019 Ford F-250 Short Bed
Question:
I have a 2019 Ford F-250. Short bed with factory pick system. When I purchased the vehicle it came with a Reese hitch part number FC3J-5B110-AA Its capacity is pin box 6,625 with max grosstrailer capacity 26,500. My trailer is the Grand Design Reflection MB31. It’s dry weight is just over 9000lbs. I’m looking at getting a slider hitch. Looking at your web site I’ve narrowed it down to the Reese RP30084 Curt E16 C16515-16020. Or B n W companion BWRVK3370 Since I’m retired on a fixed budget I was wondering if the Reese system came with the rail or bottom portion and use the top portion hitchof my current hitch. Or what is the best option for my truck and trailer

The Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16515-16020, and the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3370 are great options for your 2019 Ford F-250.
That said, the B&W Companion is in a league of its own. The B&W Companion unlike either of the other two options has a set of heavy duty 1" think dual steel locking jaws which do a phenomenal job of gripping the kingpin which makes for a very smooth ride with little to no chucking.
The B&W Companion also has a cam-action handle which allows you to uncouple on unlevel ground without binding and an easy to remove head (only two pins) which then makes for the hitch to be removed with one to two people. The B&W Companion is arguably the best hitch on the market and it has a lifetime warranty. When the time comes, the hitch will still be in great shape and you can sell it to recoup some of your money.
