What Material is the Hardware for the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Pontoon Boat Trailers

Question:

Is the hardware for this galvanized? If not I would suggest Galvanized or stainless. I mounted one on so far cant avoid the rain today. Went on very easy, and looks like it will work very nice if all is strong enough and doesnt break.I will let you know, as my pontoon boat is a 25. Quick delivery! Does it matter for durability and strength whether it is mounted the way you show hardware under bunks/pontoon tubesor the reverse of what you show hardware facing away form bunks/tubes? Please advise.

The hardware included with the CE Smith guide-ons # CE27670 are pre-galvanized. Pre-galvanized steel parts are stamped from a sheet of steel after it has already been galvanized. The edges of the pre-galvanized parts often lose their zinc coating during the stamping process. Because of the thinness of the coating, less than 1 mm, and the fact that the edges remain exposed, pre-galvanized parts can begin to oxidize and rust quickly, so its recommended that they be primed and painted.

Ideally you would install the guide-ons as shown and indicated in the instructions for the best results. I have linked the instructions for reference.
