Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Taylor Made flagpole. This is going to be an 18 inch tall stainless steel flagpole to go on your boat or really anywhere that you'd want it to be mounted up. It does go off at a 60 degree angle. So it's going to help the flag to stay moving behind you. Especially as you're going down the water, you want that to be trailing in the wind so it doesn't get tangled up.The nice thing about this is that, it does come with the clips that allow you to keep the flag taught so you don't have to worry about it getting scrunched up and twisted around. So we can adjust that to make sure that it's nice and snug for our flag.

They recommend that you use this for a flag size that's 12 inches by 18 inches. And I have a flag here just to show you how this is going to work.We'll have our two screws on the side. You will need to provide your own Phillips head screwdriver to undo those. And also whenever you go to mount this up, it does come with three self-tapping screws that would go into your gunnel or your deck. You just want to make sure that you're picking a strong mounting point for those.If it needs a little reinforcement, it's not a bad idea to maybe put some underneath.

But it does come with a inaudible 00:01:25 there. And then we'll undo the other top screw here. And these are also adjustable. We can loosen the set screw at the back of this. It's just a little Allen key.

You'll need an eighth inch Allen to loosen that up. Same for both of them. So this ianudible 00:01:49 you can move it pretty much wherever you want it to be to keep your flag in place.I'm going to grab a little bit larger flag. This is a 16 by 24 inch flag. Still works just fine.

It's just a little bit oversize for this pole, but no harm in that. If you we're to get a larger flag than this, it really would be too long for this. Since it's 16 inches along the spine of the flag, it just pretty much barely fits on the pole. So I just wanted you guys to see what it looks like.And I really like this because it is stainless steel. It's going to be really sturdy. It feels pretty nice and heavy. Without being so heavy that it's going to weigh down your boat or anything like that, but it just feels like it's going to last for a long time. It is made of three or four stainless steel. So it's going to have added strength.And especially when we're out on the water, we don't to have anything that's going to be getting rusty and gnarly looking after a while. So this is going to be a really nice premium flagpole for your boat. It's all nice and shiny and chrome as well. So it just all works out. Now, once we have everything tightened out, you can see our flag is going to stay in place. So we don't have to, again, worry about that little clip riding up or dropping down and causing the flag to just fly less than ideally.We'll also have our adjustment at the bottom, so you can leave this attached but you can remove the flagpole whenever you don't want it to be installed. It doesn't have to stay up all the time. You can just drop that down in there, turn the handle, and then you're good to go. A really nice, cool way to have a really fun flag on your boat, whether just to show your patriotism or if you need to show an emergency flag, whatever the case might be. I'm going to undo this and take our flag back off and we'll go over some measurements.Now, as it stands from the base to the top of where our flag would be, that's 18 inches. So right there, 18 inches tall. If we go from the top of our base to the very top of the pole, that's about 18 inches as well. Now, from the very bottom of the base to the very top little finial there it's about 20 inches. There is a little bit of adjustability depending on how far in you have that pole into the base. But 20 inches, 20 and a half that's about how tall it's going to be.The base is about two and three quarter inches in diameter. Our handle comes off about an inch and a half away from the base, and our clips come off about an inch away from the pole. Overall, I think this is just going to be a really nice addition to your boat and should last for a long time.
