Lock is great for my boat trailer. It fits tight to the tongue so if someone tried to cut the lock they would not be able to.

by:

Fits but shaft is a little thinner..be great when trailering boat.

by:

Great Product! We ordered 6 of these for our fleet of trailers. Very convenient with all the same key. Also purchased the matching coupler locks.
We are very happy with both the products AND customer service at etrailer. They are our first and only call for trailer supplies.

by:

I received excellent customer service from Brenden C. The 2-1/2" trailer coupler lock fits perfectly on my trailer with bulldog-type hitch coupler (excellent fit/very secure). The keyed-alike option makes life easy - only 1-key for all locking devices. I highly recommend etrailer.com (great people providing excellent customer service!)

by:

Locks arrived on-time and work great.

by:

Works great!

by:

Neil was great to work with. I had lost one of my locks and needed to get a replacement with the same key pattern as ones I had previously ordered. Neil got me hooked up and I am very happy.

by:

Easy to install and I like the way the key tightens the axle of the lock. I did make one easy modification for my use. I added a nut as a spacer so when locked, no part of the axle shows. This makes it a little more difficult for someone to saw off the thinner axle part. See two pictures attached.

by:

Exactly what I needed. Thanks,

by:

This lock fits my Nitro (Tracker Marine) trailer perfectly. Keep in mind that it doesn't provide protection from someone who wants to break it. But it provides a deterrent from vandalism. It's nice to know when you see it still in place that no one has messed with your hitch.

by:

Durable and easy to use. Really wanted a keyed-alike locks for the hitch and the trailer coupler, and etrailer was able to make that happen. I'm sure someone with the right equipment and a big set of balls could cut through these if they really wanted to, but so far that hasn't happened. Makes me feel a lot better knowing that my trailer is going to be there when I'm doing fishing 99% of the time.

by:

Works as expected.

by:

Sent lock with wrong key, did an outstanding job to expedite a correct lock with correct key1

by:

Excellent service and follow up!!! Always great to do business with.

by:

The product is the only one I have found for the Bulldog hitch. It would be perfect if it were a quarter inch shorter. Leaves room for a cutter to get in there. Easily remedied. As for service, etrailer has been the best for All of my trailer needs!

by:

While etrailer has really great products of which this is only one, of the highest value to me is the quality and integrity of their people. I contacted them via the online purchase portal asking for different products and multiples of those products all keyed alike resulting in a dozen items with one key. Well it did not do as planned on my end but in the end and with no monetary compensation at all I have what I hoped for all untangled skillfully by Victoria G. I will never hesitate to make my purchases at etrailer, a customer for life!

by:

Was looking for multiple trailer locks that fit Bulldog style hitches - but wanted them keyed the same. This is the only place I found where that is available. The locks arrived and fit perfectly - 2 1/2" span. I recommend, especially if you want multiple locks with the same key pattern.

by:

Great trailer hitch lock - exactly what I wanted and needed. Only thing that could have made my shopping experience faster would be pictures and names of different types of trailer hitches. I wasn't sure about 7692 until I watched one of the videos that clearly showed the lock on my hitch. I don't know how many different types/styles/designs of trailer hitches there are so I don't know how many locks would NOT work on my hitch. Sometimes you have to shop by 'process of elimination' but if you don't know how many products are wrong, it's tough to know which is right.

by:

High quality, affordable price, fit perfect on my boat trailer..

Still working like new a year later...

by:

This is just what I was looking for. Fits my surge brake coupler on my MasterCraft boat trailer. I wish was stainless steel like my drawbar hitch one that I got from ETrailer, but it still looks good and will do what I need.

by:

This is nice - quick way to secure the trailer coupler. I thought that twisting the key a few times would be more hassle than just the push and click type. I found I could just hold the key in twist the other end - as they do in their video! Duh. It is nice they come in various lengths and you can get them with the key coded to their receiver lock. Now if they could just make a lock that covers the ball too and use the same key - that would be great. Can't have too many locks on your trailer. This now lives on my trailer - I did use some light oil in the lock to make it easier to use down the road.

by:

I am really quite happy with these locks (I purchased 4 that are keyed alike). They are a bit unusual in that the whole locking chamber rotates separate from the rest of the lock several time to open it (I learned to hold the key still and rotate the body of the lock).
Two of mine are on trailers outside and have shown no rust or other issues in one year.

by:

Fast shipping on my tongue lock, 2.5" and 2", keyed alike (nice option etrailer offers). Easy to use if you turn the side opposite the key to close then lock. Key comes out every quarter turn. Doesn't just lock on like most tongue locks, must be turned about 3 rotations. Nice product though. Bought some extra rubber dust caps as they are usually the first to go after a year or so. Just need to see how it will hold up to N.E. winters.

by:

Have used locks like these on my boat and utility trailers for years now with no problems with them. Although these could probably be defeated with a hacksaw, combining them with a locking hitch insert and a clamping wheel lock gives me more peace of mind leaving the trailer somewhere.

by:

As a tournament walleye angler for over 20 years , I have been trailering a boat around this great country of our. And the etrailer lock has never been more helpful in letting me have the security and piece of mind that my equipment is going to be safe. Thanks Again etrailer for all your great service.

  • Recommended Trailer Coupler Lock for Pole Tongue Trailer
I'd recommend a universal coupler lock set like the # FA86-0015-316 from Fastway. The coupler lock is compatible with 1-7/8, 2 or 2-5/16 inch couplers. I'd also go with a latch lock like # e98887 to prevent the coupler from coming unlatched while towing. It'll also prevent the trailer from being hitched up.

  • Can Multiple Flint Hill Goods Trailer Coupler Latch Locks Be Ordered with the Same Key
I do have an option for your but the Flint Hill Goods Trailer Coupler Latch Lock part # FHG33VR does not have a keyed alike option. I actually recommend going with a slightly different style of lock as the narrow inside span of this lock actually does not work well for a lot of couplers. A pin style, the etrailer Surge Brake Coupler Lock part # e98887 specifically, is far more universal and has a keyed alike option. This is what I recommend using for multiple trailers.

I have the perfect solution for you to lock the upright mast to the horizontal load bars on your Rhino-Rack T-Load Load Assist and Support Bar part # RRTL002. As you have identified the opening of having a 1/4" diameter, you will want the Trailer Coupler Lock part # e98887. The locking pin also has a span of 2-1/2" therefore, will work on your 2" diameter shaft. You will also want to drill a 1/4" hole through the inner shaft in order for this pin to the lock the two together.

  • Comparing Demco and Titan Disc Brake Actuators with Electric Lockouts
That is a tough question to answer as both are excellent manufacturers with their respective pros/cons. In regards to brake actuators, they both make and manufacture them here in the U.S.A. and they both come with a one year warranty. In regards to differences, Demco makes a wide range of different trailer and towing products whereas Titan specializes more in trailer brakes. • Longest 2" Ball Coupler For 3" Trailer Tongue
Thanks for the photo, and that's an interesting issue. Realistically though, standard trailer couplers are shorter than their surge brake actuator counterparts, and there's unfortunately just no way around that. I can give you the longest possible option, but it is going to be shorter because brake actuators need a place to house the cylinder and standard couplers do not. The longest 2" ball coupler for a 3" channel is from Demco: - Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # DM15000-52 The...

You could run a bolt through the # DM8104311 to manually lock it out if the solenoid fails. However, there is no spot on the actuator to do this so it would require drilling. A Replacement solenoid # DM11993 is also available. The hole would require a 1/4" pin. We don't have a regular pin but you could use the # e98887 which would hold it in place and deter theft.

  • How Many Sets of Electric Trailer Brakes For Tandem 3,500 lb Axles When Converting From Hydraulic
Excellent questions, and let's start with your query about having brakes on both axles. The answer is that you do indeed want to have brakes on both of your 3,500 lb tandem axles. The reason is because just one set of 3,500 lb brakes won't have the stopping power required for a trailer that weighs 5,000 or 6,000 lbs, and also just one set of brakes will also wear out very quickly as they'll be overworked for the load they are rated for.
