Hi, there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Reese replacement ball plate assembly. This is designed for use with your Reese friction sway control for weight distribution systems. So this is going to attach to your trailer frame with the included mounting screws and provide the attachment point for your sway control. And this is a direct replacement from Reese so it is going to install right in place of that original.

Arrived with no damage. Did not come with installation instructions, but Instructions are available on Web Page
Shipping took longer than expected but upon package arrival all was well. Lacking installation directions regarding to pre-drill holes, or which direction to place the ball--I proceeded with what looked right. Tried to use an impact driver for setting the screws but gave that up for a drill with a 9/16" socket adapter.
Nothing wrong with the product other than its to large for trailer frame. Should offer one that fits 3 inch frames. Clamped at the same distance from the top as in video.
All of the parts I bought were used to retrofit a 20 ft. enclosed car hauler into a dual purpose cargo trailer. Every thing worked well and was as advertised. The finished product was used to move my family and all of our accumulated belongs and hobby stuff and machinery, up the road, from one state to another. In the process, after selling the trailer, the cost of the move was about equal to fuel and meals for 6 round trips.

The items arrived within the 3 days promised (I opted for 3 day shipping). I was pleased to see instructions for installation and use of the brackets included, however I would have liked to see information about drill size and proper mounting distance for the sway stabilizer plate. Overall very pleased with the purchase.

Instructions for the Ball-Plate Assembly can be found in the installation instructions for the full Friction Sway Control System. This ball-plate assembly is a direct replacement for the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660. I have linked the instructions for that kit below.

Works great, no issues at all
This ball plate enables me to use the same sway control on a 2nd trailer. It is well made, and working well.
The whole process from placing the order to the fast delivery was excellent and the products are exactly what I was looking for. Installation instructions were very good too. Certainly would look to etrailer for any future trailering needs.
I'm glad that I was able to find this part and not have to replace the whole sway bar. I was kind of surprised that I was able to find it. The only problem I had was that the holes didn't quite line up with the original plate.
And I loved not having to pay any shipping charges.
Product was delivered in a timely manner, well packaged. It was easy to install and after 1 year it is still in good shape, not rusting. Love the 1 year follow up. I can truly say something about the product this way.
Exactly what I expected. Clamping the pice on the frame and using a box bit for the pilot holes gave me perfect alignment.
All parts ordered fit right into place for the missing and damaged units on trailer, all look and perform great. Arrived with no shipping damage and on time!

Fantastic Item. Easy installation. Step drilled up to 11/32 for bolts.
Used these in the past...needed more...you just can't find them everywhere...but you sure get some funny looks at "custom hitch" places asking for them...haha...I don't use the screws. I weld.

Received item # RP58062 yesterday in the mail. I watched the online video before I received it so that I would know exactly what to do. I had everything available to install the bracket. Installed it with no problems encountered.

Installation was easy, make sure you use really sharp bits. I actually had to go out and buy some new bits.
