Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we're gonna be taking a look at some replacement parts for your Rhino-Rack awning. So this is gonna be the horizontal pole, this is a support pole for awning, we'll see how to replace it and what might need be replacing. It happens, when you go out on adventures, wear and tear happens. Now, there are several telescoping poles for your Rhino-Rack awning, and they're designed to do different things. So one example for why you might need to replace your pole is maybe you stored it in an unsafe location, you put a lot of weight in it, once this gets a dent, you are then unable to loosen it and extend to pull out, that's when you would need to replace it. Another option might be maybe you just got the wrong part.

So let me explain first what the differences are, so that you can get the right part. We have three different poles here, so the main thing to look at is gonna be the ends. So this is gonna be the vertical support pole, so you can see how at the bottom it has a stake that goes into the ground as well as a tie-down point, and then on the top you have the part that goes into the top part of your awning. Now, our horizontal support pole has this rounded end, so this fits into your awning, then it goes out horizontally, which is why you have a stake looking tab here at the end. So this support pole will be a little tricky in terms of replacing, especially compared to the other support pole, so I'll guide you through that process.

You're gonna need some plier to pull off the rubber cap, a Phillips head screwdriver, a 10 millimeter wrench, as well as a little Allen key, so let's get started. With the pliers, you'll be able to pop this right off, then, with your Phillips head screwdriver, you'll be able to loosen this end cap. Once that's off, you'll have better access to the inside of your awning. Now, put your Allen key up top and support that as you get your 10 millimeter wrench in the bottom and loosen that nut. Now, once that nut and that washer is off of the bolt, you can then remove the arm carefully.

You can even leave the old one off this side for the meantime, since the new one just pops right in. And then, put that bolt in from the top to secure it. Now, you usually have this out in your garage or on the ground as you replace all the different poles, but in case you need to make an on the go replacement, I just make sure everything is secured as I continue. Now, don't forget to tighten everything back down in the reverse order you took them off. So definitely a little trickier compared to some of the other replacement parts on the awning, but definitely doable.
