Video Transcript for Pollak Universal-Design Rocker Switch Review

Shane: Hey, everyone. Shane here with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Pollak Universal Rocker Switch. This is what our switches are going to look like. This is going to be great for your cars, trucks, RVs, marine use, buses. It's going to be a very nice design, thick. This is going to allow you to power anything you may want to add onto your vehicle.

It is going to be an illuminated switch. So it's going to have a nice, bright, red light when it's powered or when you know you have power on, and then the light shuts off when you turn it off, obviously. It's going to have a nice bezel on it that once your hole is cut out, it's going to cover the outside, so it gives it a nice clean look. This is a 20-amp rocker switch, so you just want to make sure that whatever you're hooking up, you're not exceeding that 20 amps. The switch is designed for 12-volt circuits. It's going to be a three-prong design.

You have your ground, your load, and your power. Keep in mind if you don't have the ground hooked up, it will not illuminate the light. It's going to have a copper contact lever with solid brass terminals, or solid brass blade terminals. The design of it's a nice, durable, thick plastic. In my opinion, I think it adds a nice touch to the inside of your vehicle. Now, if you're looking for a different type of rocker switch, whether it's illuminated or non-illuminated, you can find each of those here at etrailer.

That's going to do it for a look at the Pollak Universal Rocker Switch.

Installed lighted switch on my hot water pump solar panel. It’s a great way to see if there is enough sun for the circulation pump to operate

Will use this to control the 12V heat pads ordered for my Dupree valves on my Silver Streak. Appreciated such fast and courteous service from etrailer!

by:

Excellent product. Feels good, not like cheap plastic. Didn't come with any instructions, but that wasn't a big deal. Works perfect for what I needed.

Works as designed and doing great.

I think the price could’ve been a little better but it is what I needed. I went to another site and they tried to charge me a minimum of $25 whether I spent that much or not just to get the same button and it was like $14 for 1 button and that was not including the $9 shipping! Completely outrages so I’m glad I found this one:)

  • How to Wire the ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank Heater Pad To an On/Off Switch
There are two wires coming from the ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank Heater Pad part # 277-000164. There is a red wire for the 12 volt power and a white wire for the ground. This heating pad draw's 4.8 amps of power. Therefore, if you will be attaching three of these to a single switch then the switch will need to be rated for 14.1 amps (4.8 x 3). For a switch, I recommend using the Universal-Design Rocker Switch part # PK34360 which is rated at 20 amps and will be sufficient for three of the...

  • Running Wires For Hopkins Backup Camera To Mount On Front Of Vehicle
In order for you to be able to use the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera, part # HM50002 as a camera and monitor, you will need to cut the plug off the end and hard wire the system. If you are going to use it for the front I recommend running the red wire to the battery and use a switch. You will need additional wiring like part # DW07550-1 to reach the switch inside of the vehicle. This is sold by the foot. You will also need to secure the white ground wire to a clean bare metal surface. For...

It sounds like your 2021 Forest River Sandpiper 321RL has the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Observation Camera System w/ Side Marker Light Cameras # FCE48TASL-05, which if that's the case, then yes you can use the Replacement 7" Monitor for Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Camera System # FR97FR to pair to your existing cameras. To pair your cameras, you will need to press and hold the pairing button on the cameras for 10-15 seconds to begin pairing process. From here, you will: 1. Use...

  • Wiring Multiple Heater Pads to an On/Off Switch
For starters, I have attached a photo of how the Universal-Design Rocker Switch part # PK34360 should be wired. However, I believe the issue you are having is in regards to the size of wire used. The correct size or (gauge) will vary depending on factors such as amp draw and length of wire. The wires running from the heater to the splice can be anywhere from 16 gauge - 10 gauge depending on length. However, once the three heater wires are spliced together and traveling to the switch you...

Since you are going to use the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # RED96FR only when you are stationary you would need to connect the red wire to a alligator clip as you suggested or I recommend a Rocker Switch # PK34360 to the 12 volt circuit in your motorhome to allow you more conveniently be able to switch it on and off from your dash when you run your motorhome and want to charge its batteries. The blue wire of the Redarc charger controls the charging profile of the charger....

We have a large selection of interior LED lights that will work great in your newly built cabin. I recommend looking at the Optronics LED RV Interior Light # RVILL34. This is a very nice and bright surface mount light that measures 10-5/16 inches long, 4-3/16 inches tall and 1-13/16 inches deep. • Using Vision S Camera as Security System
Technically you can yes but the Vision S is meant to be powered on with the running light circuit so you would have to find a way to wire it from the lights and to a battery using a rocker switch like # PK34360. You'd then need to wire outlet # 37215105 as well to power the monitor. Or you could just use a different type of camera that you can see from your phone like the Swift Hitch Wi-Fi Camera for Smartphone or Table # SH04.

  • Why Did Wires to Rocker Switch Melt When Installing Heating Pad
If the wire from the battery to the Universal-Design Rocker Switch # PK34360 melted when installing the ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad w/ Thermostat # 277-000163 it may have been that you simply need to use thicker wire, and I recommend 10 gauge # 10-1-1. A lot of things may have come into play to cause this short, particularly the length that the wire needed to be run. It could also have been something as simple as damaged wiring or a loose connection which caused the...

i have attached a link to the switched we offer that may work for your light switch. For a single pole/single throw switch for 12V DC systems I recommend part # PK34308. • Can Hopkins Backup Camera be Wired Directly to Battery Using an On/Off Switch
What you can do is attach the power wire for the backup camera # HM50002 to the running light circuit so that you won't have to run any wires or install a switch. Then to operate the camera you would just turn on the running lights. Now, this method will turn the camera on any time your head lights are on so at night it would be on all the time. Just turn the monitor off in that situation! The wiring is not very large gauge with this camera so at most I would say use 16 gauge wire, #...

The red indicator light lets you know if it is on or off from a distance. If you like the simple standard look we have the Single Rocker Switch - Labeled On/Off - SPST - Black # 37212595. Yes, you can use two of the ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad # 277-000163 connected to your DC fuse panel. You could do this with both pads running to individual switches, or if you wired them in parallel you would only need to use one switch, such as the Universal-Design Rocker Switch # PK34360, because the pads draw 4.8 amps and this switch is rated for 20 amps.
