Today we're taking a look at a bracket for Peterson trailer clearance and side marker lights. Now, this bracket simply let you mount a clearance and side marker light to your trailer. It's a surface mount design, mounting hardware is included, and it also comes with a foam mounting gasket. Now, the open back design allows room for wiring. It allows access to your plug. It's black in color, it's made from a durable plastic construction. We're going to go over a few measurements and I'll show you how to actually install a clearance light to the bracket.
Edge to edge right here, it's 2-7/8ths". Mount holes are separated on center by 2". Edge to edge going this direction, we're looking at about an 1-1/2". And then bottom to top is about a /12".So it's really simple. You would pick your mounting location, gasket, bracket, and hardware, mount that to your trailer.
Then you can take your light and you can see it has these little tabs on it, which secure in the clips on the sides of the bracket. So you just have to kind of siting there and an angle and then all you gotta do is push it until it clicks in the position. And that's all there is to it. You have access here at the back, so you still have access to the prongs, that we can connect your wiring and all that good stuff. But it's really simple to use.
Very easy. And it provides a nice, secure hold for the light. That's going to do it for today's look at the black plastic bracket for Peterson trailer clearance and side marker lights.

Black mounting bracket allows you to surface mount a Peterson clearance and side marker light. Fits Peterson 150 series lights. This was an OEM replacement along with the Peterson M150A amber marker light. The original parts were twenty nine years old, with several thousand hours of "run-time", on a 1992 AM General M1038 military HUMVEE, and still functional (just a little aged out on cosmetic appearance)! Even the original foam sealing gasket between the bracket and hood was still providing a water tight/dust proof seal when I drilled out the two original aluminum pop rivets and removed the brackets from the hood. It was imperative to obtain OEM replacement parts to maintain the MIL SPEC integrity & functionality of the vehicle since these lights would be operated under water if the vehicle was submerged to its maximum 60 inch water fording depth. The brackets had to be painted desert tan to match, be sure and use an "adhesion promoter" primer to insure a strong long lasting bond with the color top coat of paint. Also be sure and use a liberal amount of dielectric grease on the metal electrical connector contacts before reassembling (plugging) the amber lens/bulb to the wiring harness connector to insure a good corrosion free power connection for years into the future. These two parts are a perfect OEM replacement, the brightness of the new amber lens and bulb is noticeably brighter! If these two lighting parts will last almost three decades on the front facing hood of a military vehicle, they'll be reliable for your application!
I’ve used many of these black or chrome light housings and really love them. Makes replacing burnt out lights easy. And they look good.
Works great
