Optronics ST70RB Oval Sealed Tail Light Diagram

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

Recessed-Mount Light

Recessed mount light

Recessed-mount trailer lights install underneath a housing or a grommet (A70GB - sold separately). These lights will extend into the mounting surface and require that a hole be cut into your trailer.

Lost light and rubber grommet on road trip with motorcycle trailer. The replacement light and grommet ordered fit well and works great. Easy ordering and delivery as expected. Video was very helpful. Only issue I see is the rubber grommet is not as snug as original, however fit fine.

Great! Good product!

I broke one of the lights on a 2009 Echo ATV trailer. These lights were an exact fit. The connectors were identical to the broken light which provided a quick plug and go solution. I purchased a new grommet to go along with the new light and it fit as it should. Simple and quick installation. I purchased 2 of these so that I would have a Fresh lens on both sides. The description on the website made an easy solution.

by:

I was easily able to locate the trailer lights I required on this excellent website. Delivery was fast and the product was excellent. Thank you!

I wish I had a picture of the signal
light flashing.

Attached is a picture of my 1958 Alumniacrafet w/Linex inside, Powdercoat outside, and new oak seats.

I was going to take it on the maiden voyage and realized the lights on the trailer had burned out. Luckily etrailer's website was very easy to use and offered a plug and play replacement.

The parts arrived to NW Montana on time. My wife and I were able to see the Arctic Grayling spawning up Rogers Creek from Lake Rogers in NW Montana. Thousands of fish in a four foot wide, ice cold stream, narrowly escaping a sow black bear that was eating only the cheek fat and leaving the rest for the bald eagles.

I bought a trailer a year ago and it had some lights out, i tried going locally for replacements but couldn't find what i needed, tried etrailer online and they had the lights for my particular trailer that were exact replacements, i ended up going with the led option and they are still going strong today! etrailer is now my go to site for anything and everything trailer, Thank You etrailer!

  • How to Pick Out Replacement Hub for Wave Runner Trailer
We don't have specific hub info for the trailer that came with your 2000 Yamaha Wave Runner, but we can help you pick out the correct replace hub. In order to pick out the correct hub assembly for a trailer you are going to need know a few key pieces of information. The first thing you will need to know is the bolt pattern of your hubs. This is so you get a hub that is compatible with your wheels. I attached an FAQ article on determining bolt pattern for you to check out. Next thing you...

  • Troubleshooting No Brake Lights on 3-Wire Rear Trailer Light
On this light the white wire is ground, the black wire is tail light, and the red wire is stop/turn signal. If you don't have the turn signal on this one light, the we assume that you don't have brake light on that light either. Since we have tail lights we can assume that the ground is not the problem. Let's first determine if this problem is on the tow vehicle side or the trailer side. The easiest way is to connect the trailer to another vehicle and see if all of the signals work...

  • Trailer Lights Not Working After Cleaning Grounds and Making Fresh Wiring Connections
Do not despair. I will be happy to help. This does sound like a classic ground issue but there could be some other factors involved as well. So we will start with the easy things to check and work our way from there. Testing the trailer connector on the truck was a good start. The next thing you will want to do is plug in the adapter to the 7-Way and test the pins on it. If they are incorrect, there could be a problem with the adapter. Next, you can plug in the trailer and test the wires...

  • Troubleshooting Installing New LED Lights on Trailer and Only All Work With Headlights On

  • Replacing Flush-Mount Trailer Tail Lights
The link provided will take you to our main page for trailer tail lights. You can use the filters at the left margin to narrow the results to those items that best match your original lights. It sounds like your existing tail lights are the flush-mount type that are usually pressure-fit to a rubberized grommet that fits inside the trailer cut out. It may be that exact drop-in replacements of the correct dimensions are no longer available. Depending on the age of the trailer (and how...

We can help you select replacement tail lights for your trailer. The linked page will show you all non-LED (incandescent) tail lights. You can use the filters on the page to sort the products by shape, size, etc. For example, # ST70RB is a popular red oval-shaped stop/turn/tail light. Since I don't know the model year and version of your truck I suggest you refer the question about changing out its lights to your local dealership. If the truck was made with incandescent lighting then it's...

  • Where is the Tow Package Wiring Located on a 2001 GMC Sierra
The first thing I would check is a tow package wiring fuse or relay on the truck. Use the owners manual and/or legend on the under hood fuse panel to find the locations of any fuses/relays related to the tow package wiring. All of the tow package wiring should terminate under the hood. Since the turn signal is not working at the truck side trailer connector and because you have the same problem on all trailers you tow a fuse or relay is the likely culprit. I have also included some links...

  • If Vehicle Headlights are Set to Auto Will It Light Up the Trailer Lights
As long as the auto mode for the vehicle headlights energizes the same running light circuit that is used by the tow package wiring running light circuit, then yes, it will work. To check if this is the case you will need to set the vehicle lights to auto, probably at night so the head lights come on, and then use a circuit tester such as # 40376 to test the vehicle side trailer connector to see if the running light pin is energized.

  • Trailer Brake Lights Do Not Work when Running Lights are On
First, the 4-Way on your trailer is what is called a wishbone harness. It just has 2 wires for the running light circuit to go to each side of the trailer so that you do not have to run a jumper from one side of the trailer to the other. The issue here sounds like a ground problem. Ground problems normally show up when there is more draw on a system such as when you have the running lights on and then use another function like a turn signal or brake light. Make sure that the vehicle side...

  • Troubleshooting Left Turn/Brake Circuit on Trailer
If you have tested the left turn/brake pin on the trailer connector on the vehicle, and found that it works correctly, then the problem is in the left turn/brake lamp circuit on your trailer. Start at the trailer connector itself, checking for excessive corrosion or damage. Clean, repair or replace as necessary. If you have a 4-pole trailer connector, the point where the wire enters the plug itself is a common failure point. Typically, the left turn/brake circuit is a yellow wire. Trace...

  • Installing a Light and Grommet On Trailer Troubleshooting
Without knowing exactly what light assemblies you have on your trailer it's a bit hard for me to say exactly how to reinstall them, but for the most part you will want to install the grommet first on the trailer and then slide the light into place after similar to the video I attached. You will see in the video that our installer used a bit of grease on the inside of the grommet to help the light slide into place easier.

  • Malfunction of Trailer Blinker Lights When Lights On Truck Are On
It sounds like there may be a loose or bad ground on the trailer light. When the lights on your truck and trailer are on and you use the brakes or turn signal, the system is at its max load of amps and with a bad or weak ground, the light cannot support all the power of both the running lights and turn signal. I would start by checking the ground connection on both lights to make sure there is contact to a clean, rust-free metal surface. Also, if you have a plastic license plate holder,...

  • With Trailer Connected and Plugged in New LED Lights on Truck Do Not Work
I would need to know the year, make, and model of the truck and if it has a factory trailer wiring connector or an aftermarket one. And if it is aftermarket, is it connected in anyway to the tail light wiring on the truck, either through connectors or hardwired. Converting the trailer to LED lights would reduce the current draw if that is indeed the problem. It could also be...

  • Can Trailer Taillights All Ground Back to the Trailer Connector
Yes, what you did is definitely okay. The ideal ground setup for a trailer's wiring is to run each of the wires back to the ground wire of the trailer connector. Since this can be somewhat time consuming (and wire consuming), most trailer lights will just ground through the mounting hardware. Either way can work well, but what you did is actually the better route.
