The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The circuit board is sealed, which means that water will not damage the diodes or circuit board.
A PC-rated light produces a 90-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light, as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. When properly installed, this type of light can function as both a front clearance light and a side marker light or as a rear clearance light and side marker light.
Surface-mount trailer lights install using a flange or bracket with mounting holes. These lights lay flat against the trailer surface and only require a small, often pre-existing hole, for wiring. Mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer.

Today, we're taking a look at a Peterson Clearance and Side Marker Light. This is a rectangular trailer light that functions as both a clearance light and a side marker light for your trailer when properly mounted. Has a nice, red lens. It's welded to the housing to form a single unit, so that creates a nice, sealed design to keep dirt and moisture away. It mounts on the surface of the trailer using a mounting bracket. Also on the back, it has a two-prong connection, so it accepts a female marker light plug from Peterson. That is sold separately and available at eTrailer.com, as well.This is an incandescent bulb. It's not LED. It has a 15,000-hour long light bulb, which is included. After this, we'll hook it up to power so you can see what it looks like with power into it. We're looking at about 2-1/2 inches. Edge to edge, going this direction, that's about 1-3/16, and then the overall depth measures about 13/16 of an inch deep.All right. We're going to go ahead and hook it up to power. Then we'll turn off our overhead light so you can see it in a low-light setting.
You can see here, it does send out a pretty nice consistent signal. Again, it contains one incandescent bulb, allows plenty of light to come through. Again, that bulb is rated at 15,000 hours when it comes to the lifespan of the bulb.That's going to do it for today's look at the Peterson Clearance and Side Marker Light.
