Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the spare tire for your Malone EcoLight Trailer. This spare tire is going to mount onto your trailer to ensure that you're never left on the side of the road. If your trailer tires we're to have issue, you'll always have a backup to make sure that you can continue down the road, get where you're going. The spare tire is going to feature a corrosion resistant rim. And for those of you who do like details, this is a 4.80/4.00-8 tire, it's got a eight inch wheel diameter, our bolt pattern is five on four and a half.
It's got a capacity of 785 pounds with a max speed of 70 miles per hour, and a ply rating of four.For those of you who don't care so much about the details, this is a Malone product made for the EcoLight Trailer, so you can trust that it is going to work for you. Even if you don't understand all those details that I just listed off, you can trust this is made for the EcoLight Trailer, so it's going to do a good job, allowing you to get that trailer back on the road if you have a flat with one of your original tires. Now this is going to mount with the included locking mounting bracket. So this bracket will slide in on the frame of your EcoLight Trailer, and it will go into the holes here so that we can mount our tire in place, and then we'll simply screw these ends on both sides. You'll probably want to put a few more threads than I'm doing here for demonstration, but then you'll just put a padlock or something through the end there to make sure that no one can take your spare when it's not being used.So very easy to put together, put it on your trailer so it's there when you need it.
This does meet the Department of Transportation and Transport Canada approval. So whether you're using it here in the U S or in Canada, it'd be a great option for you, it will hold up to those high quality standards. This does come with a five-year limited warranty. We always want to make sure that our customers are getting quality products and helping you solve any problems if they do arise, but I don't think you're going to have any problems with this. I think it's going to be a great backup for your trailer, again, so that you're never left on the side of the road, potentially ruining your trip. This will help get you back home or back out onto the fields, the lake, wherever it is that you're going.So I would highly recommend having a backup for your Malone Trailer, and this is going to be the option for you. This is a high quality products (Eco Light trailer, spare tire & trailer tongue kickstand) that were pretty easy to assemble, although the instructions in the installation manual could be improved some.
I received the order today. Assembly was easy, and combined with a padlock the tire will be secure.
Exactly what I needed. Now I don’t have to worry if I get a flat with my trailer or someplace.
The spare tire was purchased separately from the EcoLight trailer and both purchases were handled as efficient as I could expect. Customer service provided welcomed suggestions of options to consider. My experiences have been great!

All of the trailer products are working as expected.
Excellent tire and mounting bundle. Fit perfectly on the trailer and was mounted and locked in about 5 minutes. Also the price match guarantee and customer service is always amazing with etrailer!
Moved to Arkansas a year ago and venturing out to different lakes so wanted a spare tire on my trailer to haul my Sportsman Autopilot 120 just for a little extra security. The attachment fit perfect on my ecolight trailer and ready to roll.

Easy mounting on the tongue of the EcoLight trailer, u-bolt underneath, tire on top. The mount can accept a lock to hold all securely in place. The one minor quibble I have is the lock is a generic size and so the length of the threaded portion of the U bolt is quite long. It takes forever to crank them down to hold the tire. I cut off about 2 1/2 inches from each leg to make life easier. Also, the threads didn't quite run far enough down the bolts leaving the tire a bit loose. I put a couple of washers under the lockdown bolts it works fine.
Great to have a spare tire for our trailer! First time out after we assembled the trailer a wheel came off on the ride home. Fortunately we found it, but that started us on the path of caution, and now we check the tightness off all the nuts twice each trip .., AND we have a spare tire!
Now I have the trailer and spare tire from etrailer. Both arrived ahead of schedule and with all the parts. The trailer assembly video was a big help and the finished trailer very nice. Thanks!
