So some of your Yakima rooftop carriers have this tamper proof bolt. Once you tighten it down with the proper wrench, this prevents others from loosening the mounting hardware and helps keep your hardware safe or your carriers safe. Now, if you happen to lose this, since this is a very small hex wrench, it's very easy to do. And that's what this is for.
This is gonna your replacement wrench. It's a direct replacement and it is gonna work with your rooftop carriers. So this is not just any five 30 seconds wrench. Notice how it has a hole on the inside. That's gonna be your tamper proof material.
So if you compare that to the bolt on your carrier you can see how it fits perfectly inside. This works with specific carriers that use this tamper proof design. The part where the bolt is gonna be either the top clamp or the replacement mounting hardware. So check those out here on our website. This is really just a five 30 seconds wrench with a hole on the inside. You could drill out your own carrier to make it work with any wrench, but then you lose that security feature. So definitely get an extra one of these when you do get your care just in case anything happens.
