Adam: Hi everyone. Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the spare tire for all of your Malone mega sport trailers. A lot of them come with a spare tire, but some don't. If you don't have one, or if you used your spare already to replace the exact same tire if you had a blowout. Either way, you can grab these here at etrailer.com.

It's going to come with everything you need, even if you don't have the mounting hardware. If you had one that didn't come with one, it does come with all the mounting hardware to get it nice and secured onto your trailer. So we're going to take our bracket and put it around our frame here, all the way up and into the holes on our spare tire. Now with our brackets, we're going to have one side that's going to have a more of an oval opening, and the other side is going to have a circular opening with some threads in it. Take the threaded portion, put it on the end of our U bolt here, and get it threaded on just by rotating this around.It's going to be the same exact thing for both sides.

Now that you have it into place, we are going to have a little bit of wiggle but not a whole lot. It's going to stay there when we're going down the road. To give you peace of mind, you could actually put a padlock on here just in case you have it parked somewhere and no one runs off with your new tire. So if you do plan on putting a padlock on here, just make sure that the loop part of the lock is going to be able to fit into this hole. And the width of this hole is going to be about a quarter of an inch.

So there are some specs we could go over, but to be honest it's the exact replacement to your existing tires on your trailer. I do highly suggest getting one if you don't already have one, just because it is kind of a unique size for a tire. So if you're out traveling, who knows if the shop is going to have one on hand.But just so you know, it is going to be a 20 and a half by eight wheel, and the actual rim itself is going to be a 10 incher. Again, the exact replacement to the one that you have on your Malone trailer already. So all in all I would suggest grabbing a spare if you don't already have one, or if you used it.

It's just always nice to have that spare tire just in case something happens. Also, it is nice the way it sits on our trailer here. It's not going to hinder the amount of stuff that we can put on here. It's kind of up here and out of the way, and it was a tool free install. The only thing I do suggest grabbing is a lock for it, just to give you that peace of mind.
