How to Prevent Coupler Noise While Towing with the Malone EcoLight Trailer Part # MAL53FR
Question:
I have a light weight Malone - MAL53FR kayak trailer that is extremely noisy. I have successfully fixed the noise coming from my 2inch ball mount and truck receiver with your recommended RM -061 Quite Hitch but am still getting a lot of noise when the 2inch coupler moves on the 2inch ball when towing. Ive adjusted the coupler nut to be as tight as possible while still allowing the 2inch coupler to fit on the 2inch ball but still noisy. Guessing my tongue weight is a bit off so looking for the best way to add weight and/or other suggestions like greese or some part that would apply force to the ball mount from the top of the coupler to eliminate the noise. Thanks

There could be two reasons as to why you are experiencing excessive noise from the hitch ball and coupler on the Malone EcoLight Trailer part # MAL53FR. The first possible solution I have for you would be to add a good amount of grease to the hitch ball with part # 58117. If the hitch ball and coupler still continue to make nose after the grease is applied then it may very well be that there is just not enough weight on the tongue of the trailer as you mentioned.
The most useful way to add weight to the trailer's tongue would be to position a spare tire and carrier as close to the tongue as you can. In order to do this you can use part # MAL33FR which will add about 11 lbs and give you a spare wheel/tire. You can also add part # MPG467 which will add another 12 lbs and allow for you to easily maneuver the trailer around.
I have attached a review video of the kickstand for you as well.
