Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a look at this Kwikee steel RV battery tray. This battery tray slides out for easy access to the storage battery compartment in your RV or camper, giving you the ability to replace or disconnect your battery without reaching into a dirty, cramped battery compartment. You simply pull the tray out or push it back in with the two built-in handles that you see here. And it has a weight capacity of about 130 pounds. As you can see, we have these safety latches on either end. And it is a little bit difficult to open this when it's not mounted.

So I'm gonna give you an idea of what this looks like when it's open. So I'm just gonna push the drawer out here a little bit and then just kind of give it a turn, so you can see what it looks like when it's open. Now, I don't have it fully extended. The roller bearings that you see right here help the tray glide more smoothly than ball bearings. And the safety latches that I mentioned here just a few seconds ago, right here, they are going to lock the tray in the stowed position when you have this pushed in fully.

And that's gonna prevent this tray from opening during travel. I do want to point out that you do have holes right here on both ends. So maybe you could run a pin through there or maybe a smaller padlock if you wanted to, just to add more security to this. But I think if you have this pushed in all the way and those latches are all the way down, I don't think you're gonna have to worry about this tray sliding open. There are stops here.

Let me turn it around the other way here. There are stops here to prevent this tray from coming completely out. So you're not gonna have to worry about this tray coming all the way out and falling on the ground or anything like that. This does come with a strap that will allow you to tighten over the battery or batteries to keep it firmly, keep them firmly in place. And the strap length adjusts up to about 33 1/4 inches long.

And the strap hook width is about an inch wide. And there are slots that you can see right here, that you can attach the hooks of the strap to whatever is the best way for you to mount your battery. So it does come with the strap. Not all of these battery trays come with the strap. So the fact this comes with the strap, that's a great addition, one less thing you have to worry about when you're installing this. It's gonna come with just about everything you need. Speaking of what it comes with, it does not come with hardware. The 5/16 of an inch hardware is not included. So you would have to source that locally. This is made in the USA of durable steel construction with a gray, rust-resistant powder coat finish. And it is gonna be an easy bolt-on installation once you obtain that hardware. Let me give you some overall dimensions here. Beginning with the width, when our drawer is stowed, we are looking right at, and I'm trying to get here the widest, at the widest point, we're sitting right at about 14 7/8 inches, almost 15. I'm including where these handles are extending. So just to kinda give you an idea of the overall width. So we're sitting pretty close to 14 7/8 inches wide. And then looking at the depth of this drawer, and I'm gonna try to include these handles here, again, we are sitting right at about 15 1/2 inches deep. And then talking about the height, we're gonna be sitting right at about 3 1/2 inches tall. Now, these interior tray dimensions, we are looking at, let me measure it this way here. I know you probably can't see this, but we're looking right at about 13 inches wide by about 14 1/4 inches deep. And then the inside height of that drawer, we're sitting right at about two inches tall. Now, I extended this drawer fully and measured it, and the drawer extends about 11 inches from the frame. So when you have this drawer completely pulled out and the stops are keeping it from coming all the way out, the drawer extends about 11 inches from the frame itself. So hopefully that gives you an idea of just how far this drawer does come out.
