Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Bulldog Collar-Lok Coupler with the pin, for a three-inch wide trailer tongue, and a two-inch hitch ball. Has a 7,000 pound weight capacity. Now, this is a heavy duty coupler. It's ideal for utility, livestock, cargo, and construction trailers. It is a Weldon application.
And as we mentioned, it's a tongue mount design, so it is designed to fit onto three-inch square or rectangular trailer tongues. It is a high strength steel, which is very durable. And we mentioned it is a Collar-Lok design. You can see the collar right here. It offers an automatic continuously tight fit for absolute security.
Uses a hinged ball socket right here that makes hook-up a snap to a two-inch diameter ball. Basically, what you'll do is has this pin style fastener, keeps the collar locked over the ball. When you unhook this pin, slide the pin out, it'll allow you to slide this collar back this way. And then this hinged ball socket will open up and allow it to fit over a two-inch diameter hitch ball. Close that back down over the ball, slide your collar up, slide the pin in place.
It'll keep it secured. Does give you a visual indication of proper closure. Provides additional peace of mind. A few specs on this, we mentioned the capacity is 7,000 pounds. Overall length from this end all the way to that tip is gonna be right at 16 and three quarter inches long.
But that should do it for the review on this Bulldog Collar-Lok Coupler with the pin for three-inch wide trailer tongue, and a two-inch diameter hitch ball.

Heavy duty, clean - no bulk to deal with and can step on the tongue easily to climb up, etc. Perfect for up to 7K# trailer. When it is latched, it is latched and in the truck and away you go! Great Bulldog product.

Used it on a gravity wagon we haul cow feed from the feed mill. Welded right up to the trailer tongue and makes the trailer pull better than the old pin hitch.

Fast two day delivery and for the best of all shipping charge…FREE! The bulldog coupler works perfectly and look beautiful after welding, cleanup, priming and painting black to match my trailer. And the bulldog mechanism looks solid as a rock and idiot-proof (impossible to hitch wrong) when hitching up to the 2” ball. I just returned from having it welded to the trailer tongue after ditching the cheapie $xx trigger coupler (it came with the trailer) that was an accident waiting to happen. Fit perfectly on a 3" x 3" square tubing. You need to drill out the pin hole due to over abundance of paint.

- Dimensions and Installation of Bulldog Collar-Lok CouplerI went out to the warehouse and took some measurements of the The Bulldog Collar-Lok Coupler w/ Pin for 3" Channel Tongue, part # BD028243. The measurement for the outside width is 3-1/4". The inside width is 3" and the coupler is 2-1/2" tall. This coupler will fit over the channel tongue. I have included a picture showing these measurements for you to check out as well as a demonstration video.
