Video Transcript for Review of Kwikee Battery Tray - LC366328

Micheal: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Kwikee RV Battery Tray. This is going to make it much easier to get access to your RV's batteries. Rather than having to lean into your RV battery compartment to get to the batteries in the back, this is going to bring the batteries out to you. You just set your batteries in the tray once it's installed in the compartment, and then you can simply slide the tray out so that, again, those batteries will be closer, much easier to get to and handle, so you're not having to put stress on your back or anything to get to those batteries.

Whether you're needing to hook them up for a trickle charge in the off season or just regular battery maintenance, it's going to be much easier with the tray.It does have the ball bearings that are going to make for a smooth slide, so you're not going to have to worry about it getting bound up as you're pulling it out. It's going to be a very nice smooth operation. It also has the safety latches at the front here. You can see this little bar is attached. I'll push this out.

We have a bar on the front of the tray. And then when it gets back into the seated position, we can simply put that latch over top so that it's going to keep the tray from sliding out when we don't want it to. You can see there are holes there that you could pass a pin through if you really wanted to ensure that that was going to stay in the locked position. But I think it's going to do a fine job, even without that. Just the weight of the tray pushing against it will keep it engaged.Do want to give you a few measurements to make sure that this is going to work for your situation.

Our overall measurements, going from our width, our widest point is going to be the outside of these latches. We're looking at right under 17 inches, about 16 and seven-eighths of an inch wide. Our overall depth. Get this so that you can see it. Again, from our latch there all the way to the back lip here, we're looking at right about 23 inches.

And then our height, it's about three and a quarter inch. Now, keep in mind, the camera angle is a little skewed so it is right there about three and a quarter, even if it looks like it's more. And that's just the overall size of the tray. That's going to be the amount of space that you're going to need to install this in your battery compartment. Now, the holding capacity of the tray, it's going to be a little bit different. Our overall width for that, we're looking at right about 14 and a quarter of an inch wide. Our depth, we're about 21 inches. And the height here, that's right about two and a half inches. Obviously, your batteries can stick up past that and it's just a little bit of a lip there to help keep those in place. Keep them from scooting around too much. This does have a steel construction so it's going to be very durable. It's got a total weight capacity of 200 pounds. If you combine the dimensions of our tray, plus that weight capacity, my best estimate would be that this is going to accommodate up to four Group 34 batteries. Obviously, if you have smaller batteries, it may be able to accommodate more. You just have to use the surface area of the tray and the weight capacity. But if you're using the Group 34 batteries, it will hold up to four of those. It is a very large tray. Should accommodate just about anything that you need there. The steel construction does have a powder coat finish to it. So not only is it going to be very durable, it's also going to help resist any rust and corrosion. A very long lasting tray here. Should do a good job for you.It is fully assembled, so you're not going to have to worry about putting it together once you get it. You can see on the bottom there, we've got the holes for you to mount this in your battery compartment. Just a few nuts and bolts or screws to get it mounted in place. Very easy. You're not going to have to worry about putting the tracks on or anything like that. This is made here in the USA so you can trust that it is made to the high quality specifications that we've come to know and trust here in the US, and it does come with a one-year warranty from Kwikee. It's nice to know they stand behind their product. If you have any problems within that first year, you can give them a call and they can help you out.Overall, I think this is going to be a great option for those of you who want to have multiple batteries in your battery compartment but don't want to have to lean into that compartment to mess with them. It's just going to make it much easier, pull them out and you'll have them right there in front of you. That's going to complete our look at the Kwikee RV Battery Tray. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.

  • Will the Kwikee RV Battery Tray Fit in a 2018 Casita Spirit
I have a solution for you, but you will need to know your battery size and determine how much space you've got in your battery compartment to help decide which Kwikee battery tray is going to work the best for you. The # LC366328 is 16-7/8" wide and 23" deep (long), so you'd want to make sure you've got at least that much space in your compartment and measure your batteries side by side to determine if this would work; this will fit 2 batteries on the tray. • Sliding Battery Tray that Could Fit 1996 Holiday Rambler Endeavor
The Kwikee RV Battery Tray # LC366328 would do a great job taking advantage of the available space in your battery compartment as it is overall 23 inches long by 16-7/8 inches wide. The mounting holes on the bracket are narrower than 16 inches though so you might have to come up with a different way to mount the brackets which could include drilling new holes in the brackets that are wider or making the brackets in the compartment narrower. Sorry to hear about your wife!
