Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this Kwikee heavy duty RV battery tray. Has a 200 pound weight capacity. Now this heavy duty tray will provide easy access to your RV's battery compartment. It'll let you gain full access to either replace, switch out or disconnect your vehicle's batteries.Does use the roller ball bearing slides, which gives you a nice, smooth operation of the tray.
Now for demonstration purposes, if you notice, I've clamped the mounting brackets to the turntable, just so it will hold it in place so I can demonstrate the slide. These mounting brackets what will install into your RV.So all you have to do is have these be safety latches right here, you just flip those up and that'll release it. And then you can see, you can pull your tray out as far as you need to, and have access to your batteries in the tray to do what you need without having any interference. And then when you're done, you just slide this all the way back into place, and then push your latch down, and that'll hold it into the stow position. What's nice is they do have holes in those safety latches that'll up with holes on the brackets that you could actually put padlocks through there for extra security if you don't want anybody just pulling these out. The other nice feature on this, they'll come just like this, all fully assembled for nice, easy installation.
They are a steel construction. They have a nice powder coat finish to help resist rust and corrosion. These parts are made in the USA.Going to give you some specs on this, but again, let me just demonstrate pop open, pop open, and just slide that out. You'll actually be up there. You could pull the tray out and it'll go out as far as you need to.
Access your batteries, and when you're done, push it back underneath the RV, latch it, put the other latch down and you're all ready to go.Weight capacity, we mentioned again is 200 pounds. So it will hold probably two to three batteries to these dimensions I give you. First, I'm going to give you the overall, and that's going to include these mounting brackets. So basically the overall from front to back is going to be 24 inches deep. The height on it will be right at three and 3/16 inches tall.
Overall width on it, and again, we're going to include the mounting brackets. So it's going to be right about 15 and 13/16 wide. Now the tray dimension, which is the measurement of the inside of the tray, where your batteries will go, overall width of it is about 13 and 3/8 inches wide. Total depth of the inside is about 21 and 3/8 inches deep. So that will accept the group 24, 27 and group 31 size batteries. Allow you to probably put either two or three maximum batteries in here. But that should do it for the review on the Kwikee heavy duty RV battery tray with the 200 pound weight capacity.
