Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a brief look at this Dutton Lainson StrongArm Emergency Crank Handle. This crank handle is going to let you operate an electric winch in the event of a power outage, or a motor failure. The crank includes this spring loaded safety clip to re-engage the clutch if you lose control of the handle with the load on your winch. And I do happen to have a StrongArm winch here. Let me go ahead and pull this up on the table here real quick. And I've already removed the cap where you will put the handle.
I'm also putting the item number on your screen of the winch that I'm using here for your reference. So once you remove the plastic cap from the housing, you're just going to plug that in, and you can be able to crank in either direction with the clutch in the engaged position and the clutch can be placed in the freewheel position to make the cranking easier. However, you must hold on to the emergency handle when doing this. So once you remove that plastic cap from the housing, it's gonna be a very simple operation there for you. Now, this is made here in the USA, and it has a zinc tough plate finish.
