Recommended Hand Winch to Load and Unload a 500 lb Motorcycle on a Trailer

Question:

Hello I would like to purchase a manual winch that my wife can operate as she helps me to load and unload our 500lb motorcycle onto our trailer. I will walk beside the motorcycle on the ramp while she uses the winch to assist me. The trailer bed is 18inch from the ground and the ramp is 6ft long. By my calculations that is a 25 grade or 14DEG slope. The motorcycle will be in neutral and the 17inch wheels will be at 42psi. Which of your products would suit our purpose. We are not strong enough together to push the bike up that ramp and we dont want to have to rely on friends, hills or ditches. Is there a manual solution to this or will we need to purchase an electric winch. Thank you for your input. I have enjoyed your excellent customer service in other products I have purchased from you.

The hand winch that I recommend for you to use so that you can load and unload your 500 lb motorcycle effortlessly is the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch with TUFFPLATE Finish # DL14125. This winch is rated for 600 lbs and it has a gear ratio of 3.2:1. It can be used with either a 61 foot x 15/32 inch cable or a 16 foot x 2 inch strap.

An appropriate strap to use with this winch would be the Hand Winch Strap with Safety Hook, part # DL24239, which is 15 feet long x 2 inches wide and is rated for 4,000 lbs.

Hi, What is the weight of the 500 lb Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch with TUFFPLATE Finish # DL14125. I don't see it in the specs. For my application I will need to carry it, so weight is critical. Regards,
