Got a new truck with a different bed attachment so I bought this one to replace the gooseneck attachment style base I had before. I reused my old (but in great shape) head and it came together nicely.
This is my 2nd B & W product and like it even better than the first Companion I had. Can’t wait to pull my 35ft Grand Design with it!
B&W products are hands down the best on the market. I’ve had two of their hitches in my 2008 DRW F250 and my 2021.
Product shipping is terrible, packaging looked like UPS played soccer with it, but no damages. Driver knocked on the door and asked me to inspect it prior to signature, it was that bad. Not sure why the factory doesn’t palletize or crate for better shipping, cardboard won’t hold a 125lb load.
I received the new base 5 days after ordering ... Missouri to California, non-expedited, free shipping. That's etrailer's outstanding customer service.
Purchased this to replace a Companion slider base as we now have an 8ft. bed truck. No more wrestling the much heavier slider base ... decided my back was worth the change. The shipping box was a little beat-up with a couple of gashes matching the top edges of the base but the pivot arms and parts bags were still there. Even if they weren't I knew etrailer would step up and make it right. As for the base ... it's a B&W ... sturdy and solid. One less concern when towing.
This was the exact part I needed to continue to use my B&W head. Works perfect. Got the part from eTrailer quicker than expected. Great customer service and follow up.
I have had several B&W product in the past with nothing but the highest of quality. The base plate for the factory Ford fifth wheel hitch was not the same quality I had received in the past. After continuously adjusting latch cam bolts I could only make the plate contact the truck bed in 3 points at one time. Under load of my 14000 lbs camper a lot of uneasy noises coming from hitch not what I was expecting.
Excellent service from E-trailer, B & W provides a superior product, they've gained a life-long customer!
Great fit, easy assembly glad that I didn't have to purchase a complete new hitch.
Take it from someone that worried for three days if I was going to be able to install this hitch or not it was a piece of cake! Took me a little over an hour! This was really easy and the instructions were very clear! The added plus to this was that etrailer, Anna was just a phone call away! I called her one time for simple clarification issue and she was such a pleasant and professional person to talk to! Thumbs up on etrailer! They got this right!

Outstanding product! I havent had one problem! I highly recommend this product to anyone that wants to tow a fifth wheel trailer!
I purchased the Companion base for my new truck with the puck system so I did not have to buy a whole new 5th wheel hitch. It saved so much time and money buying just the base and using my king pin hitch off of my older model in my other truck. Swapping back and forth is so simple instead of having to remove the whole system. Installation was so easy, even the set-up for positioning the location for the ride was a breeze. We are so pleased with this purchase, we plan on getting all of our needs from etrailer.
I've used B&W products for years & am very satisfied. After upgrading my tow vehicle I needed a new hitch, & after confirming with B&W that the head from my old unit would fit this one I came to e-trailer you were suggested by a friend & so far so good. After a year to include short, & long trips the B&W hitch system is working wonderfully.
This is my 2nd Companion hitch. First was used in a short bed truck, needed the sliding Companion. I now have a new truck, Ford F-350 LB, with the 5th wheel prep. pkg. I kept the top section and simply ordered the lower section designed to drop right in on the Ford. I was amazed at the design of the B&W Companion Hitch. It really took about 3 min to install this unit in my truck. The folks at etrailer.com were very helpful, they answered all my questions, and followed up both during and after delivery. My unit arrived on time and would highly recommend etrailer.com to anyone looking for Goose Neck or 5th wheel hitches.
2017 F350 with factory hitch (puck) system. I bought the B&W base plate to use with my existing B&W 5th Wheel hitch that was the older drop in style. The new plate fits the truck very well even with a spray in bed liner and rubber bed mat. Locks up very snug and hovers over the bed with out fear of it touching, smashing and deforming the aluminum bed. As others have said the install was quick and easy and now the new truck is ready to hit the road.
I have 2 trucks and didn’t want to purchase entire new system, being able to just get the base for my Ford F450 with the puck system and to utilize the hitch hookup from my Ram saved money.
Perfect fit in my 2019 F350. Easy install with no problems. Fit with my existing hitch head just fine.

This was so easy to install it took maybe 15 minutes really. We are now ready to travel with our new towing package. We will let other people know where to order their parts from.
B&W Hitches are the Rolls Royce of Hitches! This is my second one.....I have complete confidence in its performance. I've had Reese hitches that ruined two of my tailgates. B&W will never release your fifth wheel by accident!
Base for B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ford Super Duty. Bought a new truck with the factory pucks. Reused my old B&W head. Have used the new base for a year with no issues. Have used the old B&W head on three bases for past 10+ years. B&W is the best hitch and eTrailer is tops to work with. Pricing is good and customer service is top notch.

I needed a Puck style base because we got a newer truck, the old '97 had a gooseball base only 4 months old but the hitch head is still like new I was so relieved to find that etrailer had this in inventory and $200 less than that website named after the river in South America! And the 80 lb box arrived a day earlier than expected! 5 Days UPS from MO to Seattle! I'm a happy camper!

The latch cams are adjustable, and may need to be adjusted independently since the OEM pucks may be at different depths. This information can be found on the current version of the installation instructions on page 3 of 5.
