Today we're going to review part number RP83002. This is the Reese Lube Plate for Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches in a 10" diameter. This lube plate will prevent scratches on your skid plate of your 5th wheel trailer hitch and let's your trailer king pin slide into the hitch with ease. There's no need for any messy grease. The lube plate gives you the lubrication you need. It does offer extra protection with the large surface area and it is constructed of very durable nylon material. Just to give you an idea, this is what the king pin would look like that's on your pin box of your trailer. All you need to do is before you connect to your 5th wheel hitch, put your lube plate on there and then that'll slide into your 5th wheel hitch and give you the protection and lubrication that's needed.
Again the application on this is for Reese 5th wheel trailer hitches with 16,000 pound and 22,000 pound capacities. A few dimensions on this. The diameter again is 10" and the thickness on the plate itself is 3/16". Replaced our first hitch plate when it self destructed while hitching. No problems with this plate, looks good after a year of use.
really like how well built the hitch is. It's heavy to lift but manageable. Head can be easily separated from frame by removing both quick pins to lift out of truck in 2 pieces. I plan on installing an electric hoist from Harbor freight in my garage to lift hitch in and out of truck in one piece. Definitely would recommend this hitch to anyone.
I used this plays only a few times. It sounded like a good idea to avoid all the grease on the hitch plate. Unfortunately, it only lasted a few times and then was torn during a connection and I had to throw it away. Back to the grease.

I received my new B&W Companion Hitch Assembly and installed it on my new Truck.
Perfect fit, and very easy to install.
Plenty of clearance for my bed cover, so I can leave my hitch in place, when not in use.

This Head assembly is very well built, I purchase this so when I get a fifth wheel trailer I will be able to tow with confidence. I purchased the base unit used. So I'm all set to tow whatever trailer I purchase!

Plate works well
I purchased a Reese 10” Lube Plate to provide a slick surface for the pin box to rest on the skid plate of my B&W Companion OEM 5th wheel hitch. It has worked very well. I only lubricate the jaws of the hitch prior to hooking up each day I’ll be pulling. It looks as though I will get many years of use from this Lube Plate.
I really like the detailed Information and pictures that etrailer provides for their products. I have found this to be very valuable when deciding to purchase a product.

It worked for the most part but did seem to get bent while sliding the hitch apart within the first couple uses.
Great service. Just what I needed to maintain my fifth wheel hitch.
The picture shows the plate is not perpendicular to the holes, I thought this could have been the perspective, nope the plate of the unit I received is not perpendicular. Not a big deal, the bigger problem was I couldn't use it. I have a 2000 F250 and a BigTex 14' dump trailer, the combination of the truck, trailer and 5th wheel hitch didn't work, the angle put too much weight on the rear tires. I couldn't get the hitch low enough. I had painted the adapter so returning it wasn't an option. Other than the orientation of the plate the adapter is well made. I won't hesitate to use it in the future if my vehicles change to where it will work.
Will work well with new B&W Companion H itch.
I was amazed that I could enter my 5th wheel information at etrailer and find the exact match for an LED light that had stopped working!

I’ve pulled close to 10,000 miles and it is still like new. Never have to worry about grease.
This is an excellent product, for keeping the plate on a 5th wheel hitch
lubricated, it lasts a long time, If you are a 1st time 5th wheel owner
you need to get one of these, it just pushes up over the king pin and stays there, it will not effect loading and unloading your 5th wheel.

THE REESE 5TH WHEEL LUBE PLATE IS WORKING JUST FINE. ITS A VERY HEAVY DUTY PLATE, AND IM SURE IT WILL LAST A LONG TIME. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND ETRAILER FOR ALL TRAILER NEEDS.

It is now 72023 and the lube plate is starting to leave a little residue on the hitch so I have ordered a replacement. We have traveled about 10,000 miles at this point and started in 92021.
