E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Hub for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

no complaints about the actual hub assembly, although i followed a forum post by from here that they recommend this kit for my trailer number and it didn't work(wrong size bearings/seal). Recommend doing all your own research to double check when buying. Asked if i could just buy different bearing kit for it so didn't waste the whole hub being that etrailer said they wouldn't do any returns and they said no.Looked at both kit and found the appropriate one that i needed any only difference was the bearings/seals.Outer race for bearing were the same in both so knew i could just order bearing/seal kit and use the hub's still.

by:

Excellent - fast shipping, exact fit, and easy installation following the etrailer video.

This would have been 5 stars but the product description is incorrect. The description states that the ID of the grease seals included is 1.500". I needed seals with an ID of 1.25" so I purchased separate seals. Upon inspection of the seals included in this kit when I received it, the seals
have an ID of 1.25" so I purchased additional seals for no reason...

I believe that it is possible that you received part # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-1K which does come with the part # L44643 seal that is 1.25 inches in diameter, in error. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you to assist.

Upon further inspection, I received an entirely wrong kit for one set of bearings and grease seals. eTrailer sent me the correct bearings free of charge so everything worked out in the end.

by:

Correct part, installation was easy.

by:

Simple quality replacement, will do the job

by:

Easy website to use. And ordering parts needed. And quick shipping.

by:

Kit arrived as advertised. I purchased a pair of these hub kits to replace 20+ year old hubs on my 16' skiff's boat trailer. No issues rolling down either back roads or the interstate. I will be purchasing another, for a spar, to keep in my truck ... just in case I'd have a bearing failure. Be sure to have bearing grease and a grease gun to complete the installation.

by:

went together well once terri sent the right parts. dust caps did not fit hubs. the rubber seals worked but caps didnt fit. no big deal used the originals. thanks for having what i needed since basspro didnt have parts for there own boat . go figure. thanks terri

by:

Very knowledgeable. I asked what the torque should be and she told me.

by:

Everything was good except one of the bearing cages was bent in.

by:

Easy and reliable. If you’re dipping your trailer into the salt. You’ll be doing periodic maintenance on the hubs. These make life easier. I keep a spare for the long hauls. It’s a good idea just in case.

by:

My old hubs were not made to be able to remove the bearing races so I needed new hubs. These are far superior to the original hubs as they are galvanized and made for a boat trailer. Two things to to improve and make this a no-brainer. First, include a cotter key or two in each hardware package. Luckily I had a spare one. Second, there are two sizes of inner bearing seals and my axle needed the smaller of the two which I had to buy locally. Not a big deal other than the inconvenience. I liked the new lug nuts being included as my old ones were in less than ideal condition. I did not use the easy-lube covers as I upgraded to Bearing Buddies since this trailer goes in the water and I wanted to make sure the water stays out. I look forward to long service from these hubs.

by:

Very prompt service, order received in 2 days. Company representative (Hallie) Capable and knowledgeable of company products.

Sorry, still in box have not been able to put them in service as yet.

by:

I have an issue with my hub assembly kit; before I ordered product I called customer support and went thru order process with your product expert ; during installation process an issue with the grease seal the outside diameter is correct for the new hub but the inside diameter is 1.50 and my trailer spindle is 1.25 so I called customer support and was told I would just have to purchase new ones, I feel there is a flaw in your order process not to have this included in the information needed

The seal that is listed on the product page is a 10-9 seal that has an inner diameter of 1.50 inches. We do carry the seal part # 34823 that has the 1.249 inches inner diameter and outer diameter of 1.983 inches.

by:

The hub is still going strong after a year of regular use. I keep it greased and it does the rest. The price was right, too. This hub with bearings and seals was about the same price as the bearings alone at the local auto parts dealer. I do have two small negatives, neither of which take a star off my review. One, the dust cap fits very tightly and is hard to get on the first time. I had to grind the edges just a bit for it to go on. Second, the grease seal with the kit didn't fit my axle, although the bearings did. Check on this if your axle is a bit different. I don't remember the dimensions, but it was the ID of the seal that was too big.

by:

The hub and bearing kit work perfect for my trailer.

by:

This is a great company. I have placed several orders over many years. This company knows the product they sell. Customer service and order accuracy is unmatched. Highly recommend.

by:

I bought this as a spare for my trailer. I kept it in my car along with a tub of marine grease. Just for emergencies. I was visiting my son in NY fishing on Long Island Sound. The hub on his trailer was wobbling when we pulled the boat out. I had a spare and it saved the day. Great parts at a great price!

by:

I had no problem putting these new hubs on my Shortland'r PWC trailer. The inner grease seals that come with the package had to be swapped out for a different size, but that was a small added cost. The studs are plenty long for the wheels I have and with a shallow depth lug wrench, you might lose a little of the overlap on the lug nut.

by:

The grease seal was the wrong size for my axle. May have been my fault not sure. Had to uninstall and get new seals and reinstall. Of course it was 0 degrees out!

Good to know that you were able to get the correct size grease seals for your axle. This kit includes the inner grease seal 10-9 that has an inner diameter of 1.5 and outer diameter of 1.987.

by:

I had to replace all the hubs after two years of minimal usage. The manufacturer had assembled the axles without washers and spun all bearings and races! They didn't even use galvanized hubs. Quick delivery and exact fit! Thank you etrailer!!!

by:

Gwen was super helpful in me getting the correct parts to replace the axle and hubs on my H.F. fold up trailer. NOTE: If you aren't sure the hubs are for your axle, contact etrailer customer service to make sure. I ordered the wrong hub for my axle and had to pay to ship them back, then wait a week for the correct hubs to be delivered. Also the axle nut, washer and cotter pin was missing, but Gwen got them shipped to me and they arrived in time for my trip.

by:

Purchased for my triton lite 2200lb axle. They fit well and kit is nice. My only complaint is the caps provided are super thin and hard to get in right without damaging them.

by:

Everything arrived in good order and condition. What has really impressed me with etrailer is the customer service. I received emails from real people answering my questions and keeping me up to date with my order status. I even got a phone call from the shipping person making sure they facilitated my order in the best way possible for me. Count me as being really impressed!!!! I will be ordering all of my trailering supplies from your company in the future. I wish more companies ran this way. Great experience!

by:

The 2013 Triton LT Single Jet Ski Trailer could use either L44643 (1") or L44649 (1.063") bearings so you'll need to pull the hubs apart to see which you need. Based on the way the tires are rated, it sounds like the axle was over loaded, but I would imagine it has an axle rating of higher than 800lbs. Is there any chance your flipped the axle to get the axle underneath the springs to lift it, but did not weld on new spring seats? That is typically the only time we see this kind of wear, as axles have an arch in them which becomes straight when loaded, but if the axle is flipped and new spring seats are not welded on then the arch will be pointing...
