Corrosion Resistance for Marine Use

This trailer hub assembly has a zinc coating that resists corrosion, making it ideal for use on your boat or snowmobile trailer. All GAL-DEX hubs undergo a test in which they are sprayed with a 5-percent salt solution to determine corrosion resistance over time. These products are able to withstand 500 hours of constant exposure to the saltwater mist. This 500-hour salt spray rating indicates that a product is not only durable enough to last in freshwater environments, but it can also be used on trailers that come into contact with saltwater

E-Z Lube Design

The E-Z Lube design of this assembly not only makes lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Dependable hub with the races already hammered in. This is key. Thank you for the fast service and quality parts.

by:

I inherited an aluminum trailer that ended up needing a complete overhaul and etrailer was the best resource I could have found. After researching extensively to find out what I needed and watching their videos on how to do it I ended up ordering an EZ-lube axle, galvanized hubs, springs and a hanger kit (in other words everything from the frame down).
Everything shipped quickly and arrived in great shape. All the parts worked perfectly and I couldn't be happier!

by:

Replaced the original hubs and bearings perfectly on 1994 trailstar bass tracker pro deep v17 trailer. Everything looks like quality parts. It would have been nice if a new castle nut and cotter pin had been included, I used my original nut and keepers. I would definitely recommend this

by:

Orded Shipped and received fast! Thank you so much.

by:

Had a grease cap damaged during shipment and etrailer got replacement parts shipped immediately. Great customer service

I've been purchasing from etrailer for over a decade. The 8-258-50UC1-EZ hub was just as described and works great!

Rolling along as expected, thank you etrailer.

by:

Review is mostly for etrailer; the hubs have only been on the trailer for a coupla days. I got good, helpful info from the sales staff during the purchase and when I found that the grease seal on one of the hubs had lost its spring. They send out a replacement that day and I received it the next day. My experience so far with etrailer has been very good.

by:

Direct replacement for Dexter H1062-3 hubs from a 1998 Tracker Trailstar trailer. If you dig around on the website you will find that when searching this old part number, that the recommendation is to order different rear seals due to a difference in ID measurements. I confirmed the seals I took off of the original hubs were 1.5"ID which come standard in this kit. Hopefully this review will help someone who finds themselves with the same question as I did.

by:

I have an older trailer (2003) that needed new parts due to rust and corrosion. After a few questions and answers from the Etrailer experts I ordered the parts I needed and received them a few days later. Everything was correct and fit perfectly. The galvanized hubs look terrific and should last a long time. I now have a reliable trailer for many more years to come. The Etrailer experts make the difference.

by:

Hubs were shipped in a timely manner and in good condition. The only complaint I have is one hub came with the wrong size of bearings, I ordered for a 1-1/16" axel but got bearings for1" axel. Using the hubs on a boat trailer and think they should work great.

by:

Replaced a set of ez line hubs that failed in less than one year....water intrusion. Price from etrailer was competitive and with free delivery, a real good deal. Package came fast, was well packed and all pieces fit perfect. Trying the zinc dipped hubs to see if they hold up better. Thank you etrailer!

by:

The two trailer wheel hubs that I ordered in a timely manner. The quality was good, the price was good, and the service was excellent.

by:

Spoke with Adam who was very knowledgeable in helping me figure out which trailer hub I needed for my boat trailer .... received it quickly with fair shipping rates. Highly recommend etrailer.

by:

Great replacement for the old rusted hubs and bearings. The trailer I picked up is now road worthy.

by:

Great service, quick delivery, quality parts, good value!

by:

new hubs are much less work than driving out old bearing races & installing new ones. made for quick and simple install.

by:

Great quality in a replacement hub, as expected by this manufacturer. Shipped very quick from etrailer.

by:

Competitive pricing, shipping time short, communication and tracking information very helpful, website information very useful for selecting proper parts and a followup email the same afternoon of the delivery.

by:

Perfect set up for my application. Great product!
Fast delivery too.

by:

Used these to replace the hubs on my snowmobile trailer. Excellent fit and easy to install.

This hub was exactly as I needed, and performs perfectly. It's nice to get such good service, and concern for their customers. Thanks Again

  • Replacement Hub for 1991 Bass Tracker Boat Trailer
Thanks for all of the info on your spindle. The Dexter hub part # 8-258-50UC1-EZ that you referenced is the correct fit for your spindle. The bearings match the 1.06 inch diameter and the seal diameter of 1.5 inch matches as well. We do not have a pre-greased option that would fit though.

Without knowing what your current inner and outer bearing numbers are on your current axle I will not be able to give you the exact part that you need. You can find the bearing numbers that are engraved on the bearings. You will have to pull off the hub and drum to locate this number. The Trailer Hub Assembly # 8-258-50UC1-EZ is for a 2,200 pound axle and has an Inner and Outer bearing # L44649. It has a bolt pattern of 5 on 4-1/2 inches and will work with 13 inch to 15 inch wheels....

The Trailer Hub Assembly - 2,200-lb E-Z Lube Axle # 8-258-50UC1-EZ that you referenced is a galvanized hub with the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. This uses inner and outer bearings # L44649 and has a 10-60 grease seal with a 1.50" inner diameter so this is compatible with a standard straight BTR spindle. If that's what you have then this will work great! If you have a different spindle or measurements please let me know and I can help you find a solution. I'll either need to know the measurements...

The # 8-258-50UC1-EZ hub from Dexter Axle is almost certainly the correct replacement hub for you. The bearings and the wheel bolt pattern both match up, but I'd like you to verify one more thing if you don't mind. Measure the inside dimension or hub bore of the inside of the hub where the grease seal sits (you'll need to remove the grease seal first). Also, use a digital caliper like # PTW80157 to measure the diameter of the spindle where the grease seal rides. If the hub bore diameter...
