Comparing Curt and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receivers for 2017 Chevrolet Traverse
Question:
I am trying to decide between the Curt and Draw-Tite trailer hitch for our 2017 LT AWD 3.6L Chevrolet Traverse. Any input is appreciated. We will be towing a 2016 6x12 Homesteader Enclosed trailer with our 950lbs Harley Thank you

The only significant difference between the Draw-Tite # 75528 and the Curt # 13424 is the capacity. Since both of these far exceed the towing capacity of your vehicle that really doesn't make a difference. If I were to recommend a hitch for your 2017 Chevy Traverse it actually wouldn't be either of these. Instead, I would choose the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98863.
This hitch has the same design and capacity as the Curt. What sets it apart from the other two is the matte black powder coat finish. This gives the hitch more of an OEM look and also does a better job of hiding dirt and scratches when compared to the glossy finish on the Draw-Tite and Curt.
Since you will be towing you will also need wiring. For the most reliable wiring harness I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118270. This plugs into the factory connector and will provide you with a 4-way to power your trailer's signal lights. If you think you might tow a trailer with brakes, you can install the # 118271 instead for a 7-way. If you would like to have a 7-way but also need to use a 4-way connection you can use an adapter like the # PK12716.
In order to complete your setup you will also need a ball mount. Check out the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit has two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.
I have attached some review and installation videos for your reference.
