Draw Tite Or Curt Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Chevy Traverse
Question:
Im not sure which would be the best option. The Draw tight hitch seems to handle a heavier tow and tongue load at a better price as the Curt is higher priced with lower towing capacities. Is the Curt a better design than the draw Tight or is it just manufacturing pricing thats the difference. I have a 2016 Chevy Traverse Front wheel drive. Also is there a wiring harness that has the round RV plug instead if the flat. My utility trailer is set up with the round plug.

In terms of quality you really can't go wrong with Curt or Draw Tite. I wouldn't say one is higher quality than the other in most cases. Based on weight capacity and price the Draw Tite part # 75528 would be what I would recommend easily. Pricing is based on the manufacturer we get the hitch from.
To install a 7-way all you need is the part # 118271 which is also a confirmed fit. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well.
If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
