Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

2016 Chevrolet Traverse

Came 2 days early, didn't take my money till they ship it. Plus I never like to order anything online because I'm afraid it won't fit. But they said it would an it did( 2016 chevy traverse). Also it says 45 mins to install. Sounds About right 10 mins asking the wife an kids to help hold it up with no luck, 10 mins looking for my tools 18mm & 3/4 wrench,10 mins looking at the picture of the instructions because what GUY really reads it? lol, 10 mins putting it on by myself laying on my back in the driveway using my leg to hold it up & 5 mins putting on 1 bolt by the muffler because I didn't read the instructions an lower the muffler out of my way hahahah. P.s is you have soft hands I suggest wearing gloves an waiting for the muffler to cool off because i didn't ??. But all in all it was easy & fast to put on even if your by yourself. Definitely ordering again if I need anything for her car. Thanks etrailer

Went on great. I live in a state that uses road salt so I had to tap out the threads due to rust. Undid the exhaust hanger mid vehicle to get room to do that.
The fascia door/cover does not fit over the installed receiver, which was a bummer. Would have gave it five stars if it did. Pretty easy project. Getting the exhaust hangers off was tough and took the longest time of anything.

2011 GMC Acadia

I blindly ordered a Draw Tite receiver for my 2011 Acadia - based upon reputation. Had it installed and it cost me $100 do have it put on. Recently weather allowed me to proceed to installing my long term (CURT) 2 inch Ball bar with 2 inch ball into the Draw Tite receiver for work needing to be done and found that it would not allow inserting unless use of sledgehammer.

I attempted to file down the misaligned (welded on) collar that was forcing the misalignment and was not able to make to make it work.

Nichole at etrailer worked with me and replaced the Draw Tite receiver and I found the replacement was properly aligned and my Ball bar does now fit properly.

So - presently had over double the cost for the defective unit and replacemetn that I should have. Being 82 year old I can no longer perform the task of handling this work.

2012 GMC Acadia

I received this Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" back in December and just installed it yesterday.
The hitch came with all mounting hardware including instructions. I went online to review the install video which I recommend to any DIY's it was very helpful. It took more than the 45 minutes that was quoted but that was because of the factory frame nuts were rusted and trying to tap them was difficult because the exhaust would only drop a few inches. All in all it was a fairly easy project for a 68 year old to accomplish.
I would recommend this product.

2017 Buick Enclave

The Max Frame Trailer Hitch receiver custom fit Class III was as advertised. All of the parts came at the same time and the installation was very easy. I would recommend watching the installation video as well as following the instructions. The nice advantage was the molded cover on our 2017 Buick Enclave fit directly over the receiver so it was perfect fit. I would recommend this type of hitch to anyone thinking of paying a high price to have one installed.

Working great no issues

by:
2014 Buick Enclave

One of my key concerns was that several vendors apparently ship these trailer hitches unwrapped and without a box. I was pleased to find that the hitch was nicely packaged with the parts nicely secured.

I found the video very helpful, and I completed the installation in less than an hour. Using a ratchet strap to secure the mufflers made the job quite simple. I did have help holding up one side of the hitch while I started the bolts, but other than that it was largely a solo effort. My Enclave has only been through one winter, and the bolts threaded in after minimal cleaning the threads with a shot of WD40. The four rubber muffler hangers popped off without use of lubricant or a pry bar.

Oh, by the way I took advantage of the low price guarantee. Etrailer provided the price difference plus 10% before the item even shipped. I almost felt guilty about getting a credit when I found a lower price from a lesser vendor. Etrailer has been extremely responsive, and I couldn't be happier with the whole experience.

I went back and refreshed my memory last years review, and I am still satisfied today. The hitch looks the same as when I installed it a year ago.It was a great value and buying experience, and if I am in the market for trailer accessories, I will be back.I think that the etrailer business model of including customer comments and informative installation videos would translate well to other parts markets.

2012 GMC Acadia

I received the hitch, ball mount and wiring for my 2012 Acadia within just a couple of days after placing the order. The entire order was well packed in very heavy cardboard and was still in good condition upon arrival. I finally got around to putting it on today and as some others have indicated taking loose the muffler hangers and reinstalling them is probably the worst part of the job. I used some of my wifes vegetable spray and that helped a great deal. I did need my wife to help hold up on the hitch as I got the bolts started so we made a family project out of it.

Yes, we still like that the hitch has the capability of being hidden withthe optional cover that we purchased for our 2012 Acadia. We will be using it again shortly to trailer our golf cart up to the campgrounds.

I bought this hitch after watching the installation video on the Etrailer website. It was easy to install! I installed this in my driveway and it took me about 45 minutes. Etrailer provides great installation videos and product information so you can make an informed decision. If you can work a ratchet and socket, you can install a hitch! Great information! Great product! Great company! Thanks!

2009 Saturn Outlook

Everything went great with our purchase of a hitch for my 2009 Saturn Outlook except that my car had almost 200,000 miles on it and we live on a dirt road. The preset bolt threads in the frame were so dirty that we had to buy a new tap to clean them out to get the supplied bolts to fit. After that we put on a hitch hauler, loaded it with luggage for vacation, and drove over 2,500 miles without incident.

Perfect fit on GMC acadia 2008. Easy to install, thanks to the instructional videos. Distance from center of 5/8 pinhole to farthest part of bumber is around 5 inches. There is also a 1/2 hole. Arrived on time. Perfect fit with mounting bracket 18144. Wiring harness 118451 was also easy to install.

No problem putting on the Hitch our 2012 Enclave. My wife did not want the hitch to show. Done some research and found that GM has a fisacia insert that takes the place of the one you remove. GM part # 25775358. A little pricey but worth it.

Just got a 2014 Enclave. Thinking to buy the same hitch. Based on the video, it seems the orig. rear fascia door can be re-installed back. Why did you not put back the orig. one? Its not possible or you dont like the orig. fascia style? Or, only 20132014 enclave fascia door can be reinstalled? Thanks.

Tom, I think part of your response got cut off. The Enclave received a bit of a facelift for the 2013 model year and the changes to rear bumper cover allow for the original cover to be re-installed over a hitch on 2013 and newer. 2012 and older models require a different panel to accommodate a hitch.

2016 GMC Acadia

The online purchasing process could not be any easier through etrailer. I also received emails from etrailer when the product was shipped and they even sent me an email once they were informed that the product had been delivered to my house. Pretty impressive.

The packaging of the product was exactly what I would expect. Many reviews from others had mentioned suppliers that have shipped their product without any boxing material and the product showing up being damaged and parts missing. etrailer packages their products in a very durable packing box, the product is mobilized with additional packing material inside to prevent dings and damage, and all of the mounting hardware and instructions are sealed in a bag.

Assembly could not be easier. eTrailer has created a great You Tube video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEqrluxIw5o which made installation a breeze after watching this. I had my 4 yr old daughter help me with the installation (She held up one side of the hitch while I started the bolts on the other side), I dropped the muffler for easier access to the vehicle’s frame mounting holes on one side, and I used the handle nuts that were provide by etrailer to install the bolts through the predrilled holes in my Acadia which made the rear bolt install quite easy. The hitch fit perfectly without any interference and the 2016 Acadia's cover also fits back on my vehicle to hide everything while the hitch is not in use. I timed the entire installation process and it only took me 16 minutes and 10 seconds.

etrailer provided clearance measurements for the mounting of accessories which gave me confidence that my cargo carrier would fit. My cargo carrier fits into the hitch perfectly, there is ample clearance between my carrier and my vehicle, and there is enough clearance around the hitch to use a locking hitch pin.

You really cannot beat the quality of this product, the easy of ordering from etrailer, the efficient and professional shipping process that etrailer has created, and the ease of installation for this product.

2014 Buick Enclave

Installed on a 14' Buick Enclave. etrailer has fantastic instructions and support I knee what had to be done before hitch arrived. No surprises and was able to tow from TX to WI with no issues. Took about an hr to install by myself without lifting car. Also took pictures to document process.

I did have one minor issue when I arrived at the trailer rental place and running lights didn't work. A fuse blew after 1st trip with it. Replaced and haven't had issues since. Very minor and don't think reflects any negativity onto quality of product.

I also highly suggest purchasing plug clip mount with this hitch. If not the plug is dangling and it's not expensive to add the mount. Glad I did and it looks nice.

Chevrolet Traverse

I put this hitch on in about 45 minutes single-handedly -- no, really, I am 7 weeks out from rotator cuff surgery and I found it easy to install using mostly my non-dominant arm. It's that easy! On the Traverse, it is truly a "hidden hitch" -- see pics. I used this hitch in conjunction with the Curt C56245 wiring harness and TrailerMate TM76470 mounting bracket. Each of those products work perfectly with this hitch. I would not change anything, this is a perfect setup.

by:
2012 GMC Acadia

I received the hitch in the mail a few days ago, and I must first say that the packaging was very good. The hitch was well protected and boxed up nicely, with no loose parts anywhere.

The instructions were fairly easy to follow and installation took about 1 hour. It could have taken less time if I had a lower profile torque wrench. The distance between the top of the muffler and the bolt was less than 2" and the height of my torque wrench and socket were more than that. So, in my case, it took me hanging on the muffler to make enough room to get the wrench in between to tighten the bolts to specification. As I said before, I didn't have the proper tool so I used what I had.

For the 2012 GMC Acadia, the installation used 6 bolts, 6 cone washers, 2 spacers, and 2 handle nuts. The plastic bumper cover and the rubber muffler vibration mounts are the only things that need to be removed for the installation.

Overall, it seems like a well-built trailer hitch. I look forward to many years of use!

2009 GMC Acadia

I was happy to see such a great price. I am very happy with this hitch. I can tell it is strongly made and has a great weight to it. Before I post pictures of the final result, I will say before I could i install, I inspected the factory holes and since its a 2009 Acadia and was not weather proofed from day one, there were all rusted and half the threads were gone. So I had to go to Harbor Freight and buy a tap set and make the rusted out threads new again. If you have to do this, be patient and be sure you go in straight from the start. Then as you go and give it a few turns, back it out and clean off the gunk metal shavings and be sure to put some sort of oil on it to prevent getting seized and lubed for cutting new threads. Once I did that, the bolts went right in. Far as installation steps, the video on the website was very helpful. Dont worry about the ones that come in the box. One pointer, use jack stands to support the muffler when you remove it out of the hangers. After all was done, I zipped tie all the wiring on the up side of the hitch and out of site. It all looks great!

by:
2009 Chevrolet Traverse

i bought the hitch package, hitch, harness and ball mount. the
materials are first rate and well made. installing the hitch took less
than 30 minutes. instructions said to drop the muffler on the
passenger side rear for access to the holes, but on the 2009
traverse i had room without dropping the muffler. the wire harness
took a couple hours thru no fault of the product. i had trouble getting
one of the taillight assemblies out. very happy and recommend the
product to anyone. thanks much!!!!!!

2015 Chevrolet Traverse

This is a great product and super easy to install. We needed a receiver for my wife’s 2015 Chevy Traverse quickly for an upcoming trip to the beach so we could tow a couple of wave runners. The receiver was delivered in just a couple of days (free shipping too)! The install was super easy and quick! I was able to install the unit in about 20 minutes. The dealer quoted me $900 dollars for a receiver and a local trailering company wanted $300...In total I spent $130 between the receiver and a plug and play wiring harness. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a quality receiver!

by:
2009 Buick Enclave

Ordered the hitch from etrailer Tuesday night, the day we picked up our 2009 Enclave, and it was dellivered on Friday(!), but I had to wait for a warm day to do the install. After the hitch was delivered, etailer sent me link to a review and resource page, with an installation video of the Englave. Watched the installation video, then watched it again to make sure I picked up on every detail. Installation went as smoothly as predicted, despite working on my back, with the rear end (of the Enclave) up on ramps. Took me about an hour, but then I hadn't installed a Hidden Hitch since our 1995 Olds 88.
Product and service from etailer are great!

2014 GMC Acadia

Vehicle: 2014 GMC Acadia
Product works
great and easy to install. More tongue weight (750 lbs.) than most others.

Car had less than 5K miles on it so getting the 4 bumper hangers off required no special tools or spraying. Using a tie-down worked great for lowering the exhaust. Just did the install in the driveway without ramps. Everything lined up. For the handlenuts, I did not bend but just slid it under the plastic to keep them tight and flush. You can re-install the fascia cover when not in use. Once your figure it out, it's easy to get fascia cover on and off.

by:
2013 Buick Enclave

The Drawtite 75528 Hitch works great. Had to drop both rear mufflers to get the bolts in and torqued. Bent the plug-in bracket and mounted it upside down. Also mounted plug upside down. This allowed me to re-install the bumper cover hitch door.

by:
2013 GMC Acadia

I installed this hitch on my 2013 GMC Acadia myself in about 30 minutes with absolutely no issues whatsoever. When it was completed, the plastic bumper fascia cover was able to be re-installed, so the hitch can be totally invisible when not in use. (see photos)

Their website has "How To" videos which clearly demonstrate what to expect during the installation process. The hitch came with all necessary instructions (illustrated) and hardware.

These people at etrailer.com are incredible! They communicated with me from the instant I submitted my order until it was delivered so there was no uncertainty about when I could expect the product to arrive. Just an excellent experience all around. Thanks !!!!

by:

I mounted the hitch to the back of my 07 buick enclave. It fits perfectly and is very sturdy looking. Now I can mount my bike rack on the back so I can carry my two ebikes where ever we decide to go. My two ebikes will probably weigh in at about 110 pounds. I have no doubt that this hitch will be able to handle the load.

  • Solution for Weld Nuts of Trailer Hitch that Are Too Rusty to Thread Bolts
Rusty weld nuts can make trailer hitch installs pretty difficult but there are solutions. First you want to clean them as well as possible so that hopefully that allows the bolts to thread. But worst case scenario you can use a thread tap to clean the threads out. If you can't even get the tap in I'd first try cleaning them with a wire brush and WD 40 first to help get the tap started. I attached two help articles that cover how this is done as well.

I took a look at an online copy of the owner's manual for a 2014 Chevy Traverse and you are correct that the maximum towing capacity with the trailer towing package is 5,200 lbs. This is different than the GCWR, which is 10,250 lbs for a 2WD or 10,450 lbs for a 4WD. The GCWR is the weight - in total - that your Traverse and trailer can be combined. • Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch Fit on 2016 Buick Enclave
The Draw-Tite Class III hitch # 75528 is a confirmed fit on your 2016 Buick Enclave and offers no-drill installation. All required hardware is included. The linked video shows the installation process on a 2015 model year. The small door in your rear fascia may not be able to be re-installed after the hitch is mounted. This depends on the individual vehicle because plastic trim parts like the rear fascia do not have the same degree of exact fit on the car the way other components do, such...

  • Install Time for Draw Tite Trailer Hitch 75528 on 2014 GMC Acadia
If you were local to us we could install the Draw Tite hitch part # 75528 for you and it we'd be able to do the install for free, but if you had to find someone local to you it would cost you an hour of shop time most likely. • Can Rear Fascia be Reattached on 2011 Buick Enclave After Installing Draw-Tite 75528
Installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 75528, will require the removal of the rear fascia, and will not be able to be reattached on Buick Enclaves that are model year 2012 and older. I have added a link to an install video which demonstrates an attached hitch so you can get a feel for how your 2011 Enclave will look after a completed install.

  • Ground Clearance Dimension for Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75528 Installed on 2014 Chevy Traverse
When we installed the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75528 on the 2014 Chevy Traverse we measured a distance of 18-1/2 inches from the ground up to the top inside portion of the receiver. This would put the middle of the receiver at about 17-1/2 inches from the ground. This is the exact hitch I recommend for your Traverse and it will install by bolting to existing holes in the vehicle's frame for a no-drill application. I have attached the install video that you can also...

  • Towing Capacity of 2012 Chevy Traverse
Everything I am seeing for your 2012 Chevy Traverse shows a 2,000 lb towing capacity. There's nothing can be done to increase the towing capacity of a vehicle so your best option would be to either find a smaller trailer or a larger tow vehicle. You can confirm the towing capacity by checking the owners manual of the vehicle or with a Chevy dealer. We have hitches like the Draw Tite part # 75528 which are confirmed as a fit for your vehicle and have higher towing capacities than you'd...
