    • Compatible with 4-pole, 5-pole, and 6-pole adapters (sold separately)

Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located beneath the vehicle, near the frame rail on the passenger's side. Once you've plugged in the connectors, insert the included fuses and relays into their locations in the fusebox, which is located in the engine compartment.

Once installation is complete, the 7-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 7-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Installation was really simple. Product is durable and should last the life of the vehicle no problems. I've had the wiring harness installed for a year and the new mexico sun hasn't faded the plastic covers at all. Still looks brand new

by:

Made wiring super simple on our '17 Traverse. I only wish the hitch had a better place to mount the connector.

by:

Easy to plug in as advertised. Hardest part was having to remove the back bumper to route the wiring away from hot components. The eTrailer installation video was very helpful for the rest.

Still works great after a year. No issues.

I was fortunate that this fit so well and was easy to install on my 2017 Traverse.

by:
2013 Buick Enclave

Product fit perfectly to the factory connector( it was a bit difficult to access it tho.) installed rather quickly with the exception of the bracket for the plug. Awesome part!

by:

Wiring harness was easy to install. The existing plug on the car is held up in the wheel well with a clip. Unhooking it helps to access and snap the two plugs together. I was able to re-hook the end which helps keep the harness supported at that point. Note - you should use a dialectic gel on both plug and receptacle ends. This helps to waterproof and avoid corrosion at the connection. Follow directions to avoid contact with the tail pipe and strap accordingly.
Adding in the fuses in the fuse block was easy, The only issue I had was installing the two relays. Most relays require installs in a certain direction to be certain the coil and contacts are not reversed. I did not see any indicator to tell me which direction they must be installed. The red circled relays in the photo are the ones I'm talking about. It took me about a half hour to complete the project. That time also included installing the 4/7 pin adapter receptacle that this harness plugs in to at the hitch.

2015 Chevrolet Traverse

Like many others stated, super easy installation of the hitch. Only took me about 30 min by myself. It took me about an hour for the wiring harness and bracket since I had to find another bolt and nut since it only came with 3. The thing that gave me the most trouble was the wiring harness. I couldn't bring the cannon plug down towards me at all so I had to do it all by feel. The mounting bracket for the wiring harness I chose to flip upside down and bend towards the rear of the car and down so I could hide the wiring and hitch completely. The other reason was because I didn't want the bracket to catch on anything because it was lower than the bumper. I ordered the supplies on Fri and they were here mid day the following Tuesday. With all the great videos, a job that might have taken me 4-5 hours only took 2 hours plus knowing where the cannon plug was helped tremendously. If I hadn't known where it was I would have prob had to do a splice job. This job, in my opinion, looks professional. Thanks ETRAILER.

2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Went on fairly simple. I wish it would’ve been able to mount to the hitch. This one didn’t but it works

by:

I bought the trailer hitch and one of the connectors that were recommended and the connector bracket does not fit so I need a different connector. Also the angle on this hitch doesnt seem right. I bolt the 4 m12 bolts in and then the theres a gap of 1/2 inch where the 1/4 inch spacers are supposed to go.

by:

Product fit exactly as described. I want to be able to tow a small camping trailer. I have family visiting from Washington State. I needed a 2nd tow vehicle ETRAILER had all the parts I needed to prepare my buick for towing.

by:
2016 Chevrolet Traverse

Perfect fit and length. Only issue was it does not come with a bracket to mount the plug to the hitch. I guess it has to dangle or I wire tie it up, until I get one now.

by:

direct fit and clear directions, I zip tied it to the hitch frame.

by:

Excellent product and service from a trustworthy company. I have purchased from etrailer in the past and was not disappointed in quality and workmanship. This recent purchase was also very satisfying in the fact that with etrailers excellent customer service reps the purchase I made was the exact part I needed. When I ran into a slight problem on Saturday, just one phone call resolved the issue. I take great pride in being able to complete a project by myself other than relying on a dealership who would charge me double for the same thing. I would highly recommend etrailer to anyone looking for trailer parts and hitches. Fast curtious service and knowledgeable reps make etrailer number one place to purchase.

Be careful what you order. I ordered the 4 pin but really should have ordered this 7 pin. My bad, I get it. etrailer determines the return shipping cost. The 7 pin installed no problem.

The trailer hitch has been fine but I have had intermittent problems with the trailer wiring for a year now ( I only use the trailer a few times each year). The left blinker on the trailer intermittently quits working. When this happens, the tail lights on the left side are brighter than the right so I believe the blinker lights are shorted to the tail lights but not connected to the vehicle blinker signal. I am able to wiggle the wires near where the cable connects to the vehicle connecter and the blinker begins working and the tail lights are the proper brightness. I can't disconnect the cable from the vehicle wiring without putting the car on a lift so I have not been able to determine whether it's a problem with the vehicle wiring or the trailer light cable without taking the vehicle to a shop which I have avoided so far. The trailer wiring is fine and works with other vehicles so I know its not the trailer. The cable is properly routed around any hot exhaust pipes so it appears to be installed correctly. I plan to take it in soon as I am tired of fiddling with it to get it to work.

2015 Buick Enclave

Easy installation on my 2015 Buick Enclave as long as you have small enough arms to reach up under the side. One downside was there wasn't a mounting bracket included, so the wiring is hanging while I search to get one. Also, the zip ties included were not long enough to attach anywhere affectively, so I had to use some I purchased another time.

We can help you with a mounting option for your trailer connector! If your trailer hitch already has a bracket on it, you can simply use part # PK12711U. If the hitch doesnt have a bracket, youll need the PK12711U and a no-drill bracket, 18136. Drilling directly into the hitch is not recommended as it can weaken the hitch.

2016 Toyota RAV4

I received excellent customer service from etrailer! They were able to guarantee arrival of the part days ahead of my local parts supply store. (The local parts supply store also tried to sell me a part that would not fit my vehicle.) The customer service representative at etrailer was very helpful, courteous, knowledgeable, and well spoken.

The Part itself, a wiring harness to add a trailer plug on our vehicle, appears to be high quality, and fit my application perfectly. I was able to simply plug the wiring harness into the existing factory plug at the rear of our vehicle.

Two things would have made the wiring harness, a Tekonsha product, better. The wiring harness did not come with any di-electric grease, which should be provided for any exterior electrical connection. I had to supply my own di-electric grease for the project. And while the part did come with four supplied zip-ties, they were too short to properly attach the wiring harness to much of anything underneath our vehicle. I had to supply my own, longer and stronger zip ties for the project.

All in all, a great product, and backed by excellent customer service from etrailer.com.

  • Installing a 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse with Tow Package
The wiring harness # 118271 is for 2013 and later Chevrolet Traverses so it is not the correct part for your 2011. The harness may plug in the same but it also includes the fuses and relays which aren't confirmed as a fit. Since it sounds like your 2011 Traverse came with the tow package you can use the # 74682. According to the owner's manual for your Traverse that I found online you will not need to install any fuses however the wires for the trailer brake circuit will need to be connected.

I will be happy to help you select a trailer wiring harness so you can get out there and get to camping! There are a couple of different ways you can add a trailer wiring harness to your 2016 Chevy Traverse: install a harness that plugs in line with the tail light wiring or use a harness that plugs into a factory location and that also provides the accessories to make it functional. The second way is the easier installation so I recommend we look at the best option in that category. If...
