Replacing Brakes on Northwoods Arctic Fox Silver Fox 32 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
I am not sure what brakes I need. The fifth wheel has Dexter never lube axles. I have never changed the brakes or done anything with the axles Help with part numbers and a video would be awesome. Thank you in advance Respectfully

Your Northwoods Arctic Fox 32 5th wheel probably has a gross weight around 16K so it probably uses two Dexter 8K axles. This is a popular axle for 5th wheels and we offer suitable 8K-rated brake sets like Dexter's Self-Adjusting Electric Drum Brakes # K23-532-533-00.
These USA-made brakes use a 4-bolt mounting flange and they fit with trailer wheels that are 16-inch diameter and larger. These brakes fit hub/drums that are 12 x 3-3/8-inches and the mounting hardware is included. A video showing how to install electric brakes is included. These brakes have only two wires and you can use either one for ground and for power.
You can usually find a sticker on the axle that tells you its weight rating so that you can select correct replacement electric drum brakes. If not a quick call to the trailer maker with your VIN will do it.
Since it sounds like you have not serviced the bearings before I suggest you do this while you're replacing the brakes. The linked article explains how to do this and it includes links to the items you'll need, such as LubriMatic LMX Industrial Strength Grease # L11390 which is great for campers and a grease gun like # L30416 which makes it easy to apply the fresh grease.
A helpful article on general trailer maintenance is included for you too.
