Installation Of E-TRack System In Trailer With Steel Cross Beams And 3/4 Inch Plywood

Question:

In process of installing your 5foot sections of E Track to 3/4 plywood in my trailer to tie down 2-900# Harleys. Plan to attach to cross beams with self tapping screws where ever I can along with backing plates with bolts and wood screws. Question: 1. Will thickness of E track plate plus 3/4 plywood be enough that I can use 3/4 inch long wood screws in lieu of 1/2inch as previously suggested and not punch through underside of plywood? 2. For each 5foot section, how many backing plates do you suggest I use given that I will be attaching track to underside steel crossbeams which are 16inch apart?

Since the E-Track Backing Plate, part # e96RR is 1/8 inch thick, I think using 3/4 inch long screws with the backing plate, 3/4 inch plywood, and the E-Track will work just fine.

To really secure the E-Track to your trailer, I would recommend using the backing plate in any location that the track is not being mounted to the steel beam. This would keep the strength really consistent for the entire track system to hole the Harleys.
