Can E-Track Be Installed Over Rubber Non-Ski Covering On Wood Floor in Trailer

Question:

I plan on installing etrack in a toyhauler that has a 1inch plywood floor with about 1/8inch thick rubber/plastic antiskid covering on it. Can I install etrack over the covering or do I have to cut it off? I will be installing with screws into the plywood. I will be using the Condor etrack chocks and tying down Harley Davidson dressers.

Expert Reply:

You should really attach E-Track directly to the wood floor of the trailer by trimming the rubber covering in the area you want to mount the track. Also I recommend using several E-track backing plates, # e96RR, under the wood floor so that the force applied to the wood floor is spread out over a wider area. this will help prevent the E-track from pulling out when a load is pulling on it.
