If a trailer is 80" or wider at its widest point, then it requires rear clearance lights in addition to basic trailer lights. These clearance lights indicate the width of the trailer when it is viewed from the back.
To meet these requirements on a flatbed utility trailer where the bed extends past the wheels, you can install combination trailer lights that include the rear clearance function. For proper mounting, the lights must be installed at the widest points on the rear of the trailer - one on each corner.

They provide a much softer light than the LED and have replaceable bulbs so I won't get stranded on a trip when the LEDs go out. In most states, the police are allowed to pull you over and ticket you if a single diode goes out in an LED light.

This has got to be the worst lights for a trailer. I purchased a brand new trailer with these lights and less than a hundred miles down the road the side red covers fell off. I had to purchase a complete light kit just to replace the covers and they lasted about just as long. My suggestion is if and when they fall off as they surely will just buy an entirely different light and replace them. I don't think these lights would hold together on a bicycle much less a trailer.

Our order appears to be in good shape, though we haven’t installed it (light) on our trailer yet—assuming it will work just fine. (We hope!) It all looks in tact at any rate.
