duralite portable solar panel

The Go Power DuraLite portable solar system provides an easy way to charge your RV batteries with clean, renewable power. Using the 100-watt foldable solar panel, this system collects solar energy to create DC power that passes through a solar charge controller into your batteries. The kit includes several adapters to suit your charging application. Also, it comes in a canvas carrying case for convenient transport and storage.

If you occasionally dry camp with your RV, this kit is a perfect solution for charging batteries while you're away from shore power. And since the system is lightweight and flexible, you can choose where to place the panel and charge other batteries using solar power as well. It's also a great complement to rooftop RV solar panels, providing an extra boost of charge when you need it.

High-Efficiency, Monocrystalline Solar Panel

The charging process starts with the solar panel, which unfolds and uses adjustable legs for support. When solar energy interacts with the silicon cells in the panel, it generates a flow of DC electrical current that charges your RV's batteries. Each of the monocrystalline cells is made from a single crystal of silicon, so the electrons that create the current have more space to move, making this panel more efficient than one with polycrystalline cells. And in optimal sunlight conditions, the panel produces 100 watts per hour. Additionally, there are 2 built-in USB ports on the handles of the panel to charge your cell phone or tablet.

Smart Solar Controller Charges and Protects Battery Bank

duralite solar controller

The solar controller prevents harmful overcharging by adjusting the power generated by the solar panel before it reaches your batteries. It uses pulse width modulation technology to regulate the output through pulses that provide a consistent charge. Typically, this type of technology is a good fit for smaller systems with lower voltages.

Using a multistage charging system, the controller automatically switches voltages while the battery bank charges. This accelerates the charge, but also helps extend battery life by adjusting the voltage during the different modes. The controller is compatible with multiple battery types and includes preset charging profiles for sealed/gel, AGM, flooded/wet cell, and lithium batteries.

Charging Modes

  1. Bulk: This mode charges at the full rated load for a quicker recharge time. As the name suggests, this is where the bulk of the charging happens. It typically charges the battery to at least 80% capacity.
  2. Absorption: This mode provides controlled voltage to ensure a full charge. Once the battery reaches between 80% to 90% capacity, the absorption state will kick in and start charging at a regulated voltage. In each charging profile, this mode is set to last for 30 minutes after the bulk charge is completed.
  3. Float: Once the battery reaches full charge, this mode maintains a lower voltage to compensate for self-discharge. This reduces battery stress and minimizes gassing and water loss.
  4. Equalization: On flooded/wet cell batteries, this mode activates to prevent stratification and sulfate buildup during extended float cycles. These two issues can damage a battery by causing the accumulation of acid at the bottom of the battery and hardened sulfate crystals on the battery plates. This mode is especially helpful when your battery is going unused during storage.

The backlit, digital display acts as an information center for your solar panel output. It shows the charging current, battery voltage, and battery state of charge. It also allows you to input your battery type and choose a charging profile.

Lastly, the controller includes several built-in safety features to help protect your equipment. The charging process will shut down if the controller starts to overheat and when an overcurrent is detected. Also, if the battery or solar panel is wired incorrectly, it activates a reverse polarity alarm.

Easy-to-Use Adapters for Battery Connection

xlr style plugsae solar plugbattery clampsbattery terminals7-pin

This kit includes several adapters to suit different applications. It comes with XLR-style and SAE solar plugs, which work with RVs that are pre-wired for solar, including Zamp solar ports. For traditional battery connections, it has battery clamps and battery terminals. Additionally, a 7-pin trailer adapter (sold separately) provides another connection to your 5th wheel or camper. Each adapter has an Anderson connector which plugs into the portable solar panel.

This is an example of a typical SAE solar port.

Available Accessories

expansion panel upgrades your system

The DuraLite 100-watt expansion panel lets you expand your solar setup to collect more sunlight and charge your batteries faster. This kit can handle up to 300 watts, which means you can connect 2 additional panels.

portable solar panel extension cable

If you need more distance between your battery connection and the panel, the extension cable (sold separately) provides 30' of additional length.

We have been using this Solar Panel with controller for a year now and right out of the box so easy to set up and use. Everything is of good Quality from the controller to the cord. Instructions are super easy the use. We have a 20 foot travel trailer and it helps keep our battery charged. We did buy a longer cord to help follow the sun around the trailer. I would highly recommend this set up. E-trailer is helpful with any questions and get back to you right away.

by:

Not very happy with it. It is not waterproof, or at least the controller isn't, and the controller is on a very short wire. what this means is I cant leave it in case it rains. And, if i want to protect it in the bin while the panel is out, I cannot get the panel very far from the coach. So, not happy with it. i never thought that an outdoor solar panel would not be totally waterproof...really??
E-trailer would not let me return it once i opened the box, but I didn't know i couldn't use it very well until i did. Very poor and i have not purchased anything from them since

Hello there, would you be able to tellshow me where it says the controller is water or weather proof?

by:

Works well. Support legs could be sturdier.
You really need multiple hours of direct sunlight to get the benefits of this panel.

Not helpful when there’s any kind of shade whatsoever.

by:

This is a great solar product. It is conveniently packed in a bag with zipper pocket and handle. This was easy to set up first time. Dappled sun did not provide battery charge (as disclosed in advertising) but was enough to charge my phone during dry camp. Highly recommend.

Still working as advertised. Great to top off battery while trailer camping.

by:

Excellent lightweight / portable panel I have used during two major trips the last eleven months (15000+ miles; ~ 3 months total RVing without shore power). I used the portable panel in conjunction with my fixed RV rooftop mounted panel to overcome obstructions to direct sunlight AND increase the charge wattage.

by:

1. It shipped without the SAE plug -- the plug that goes into the side of the motor home (open box return?) -- and it took more convincing than it should have to get etrailer to agree to provide the missing part and ship it. First time out, we had to clamp onto the battery -- which is in the middle step of the motor home. It was a PITA to access the camper through the truck's doors.
2. This has the disadvantage of solar power in general. We're not talking about requiring the modest amount of sun to grow grass. This panel wants direct sun. If the sun isn't shining you get no power output. If the sun is filtered through some trees, you get a tiny bit of power. Maybe two or three panels would help, but, in a shady campsite, there's no place to put them. Heed the Product Expert blurb with the product listing: the 100 watt panel is good if you "have pretty modest power needs, like charging a speaker, your phone, laptop, and running a few lights." It's a pretty kludgy way to charge one's cell phone.

I recently received the Go Power Duralite solar panel. Thank you for the prompt service and delivery. However I am very upset that a few days later you advertised a price of $XXX dollars and I paid $XXX. This is a difference of approximately $XXX. I feel very deceived and will certainly question your marketing policy re “lowest price” in the future. Since this is very significant price change I should have been made aware of it when I placed my order. I have ordered various items in the past and have been very satisfied, this however disappoints me considerably and makes me hesitant to buy or recommend etrailer in the future.

Product appears well-made and sturdy when open. Lightweight, easy to setup and take down. Worked well to charge my trailer battery. However, I had to return the panel because it was not compatible with my Bluetti eb70 solar station. Tried multiple ways and would not work. I think the issue was with Bluetti because the eb70 does work with the Bluetti brand solar panels. I really like the GoPower panel for the reasons listed above and am a bit disappointed I could not get it to work for my application. Your mileage may vary....

by:

Perfect! Exactly what we expected at the best advertised price anywhere. Looking to get the 30 foot cable extension and ultimately will expand the number of portable panels. The video presentation that Evangeline did was the selling point. Great, lightweight addition to our Lance and need for portability.

Light weight and compact producer of great energy. Finished a 4 week trip Spring and was able to keep the batteries charged. Did get the 30 foot extension and that helped to get to the sun in some fairly dense forest near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

In 2021 I built an Overland trailer.
For
my vehicle and trailer set up - wiring harness, trailer tow hitch, brake controller, solar power kit, etc., I always go to etrailer first.
Their products, delivery and service have always been great and very reliable. Their products are high quality and well priced.
As an example, this GoPower Duralite kit was actually $XX cheaper than the same kit on [another website].

Testing his out today at home before we go camping. Setup was simple. Light product.

Still really like the solar panel. Easy to set up. Lightweight. Still highly recommend.

by:

I had the product up and charging the camper battery in 5 minutes. With all the various cords/connectors provided in the bag, I’m sure I can hook up to any battery situation I might have!

by:

Not sure until we get to use the product. I was impressed with the way the product was shipped. I would like more information about the controller? Your overall rating could be a 5 if you give me time to use the product.

E trailer has excellent customer service. Arthur was very helpful with adjustments and all items came on time. Great Value too! I have not set up panels yet due to rain, however everything is well packaged, looks great, I'm sure it will work fine.
Thank you

by:

Simple to use, as long as you have sun under the trees. Connected without issue to out JayFeather Micro 171bh and helped top off the batteries, since the roof mounted was in shade most of the day.

by:

Saved $250 by purchasing with trailer. Part arrived 4 days sooner than originally expected!

by:

Just received it 5 minutes ago looks good can’t wait till the summer to use it.

by:

so far all is great, the item arrived unblemished and set up was easy. e-trailer made the whole experience easy

by:

Tested unit and it works great. Going on two month trip so will find out if one unit is adequate for my needs. The main reason I purchased this is because it is able to be added onto.

by:

Used it for the first time last weekend and it worked just as we expected. We were dry camping and were able to maintain a fully charged battery.

Works great!!
