If you are an energy-conscious RV owner, the Go Power Eco solar charging system provides clean, renewable power and a way to trickle charge your batteries while you are on the road. Using a solar panel, this system collects solar energy to create DC power to charge your RV batteries.

How It Works

Collecting Solar Power

eco panel

The charging process starts with the solar panel, which installs on the roof of your RV. When solar energy interacts with the silicon cells in the panel, it generates a flow of DC electrical current that charges your RV's batteries. Each of the monocrystalline cells is made from a single crystal of silicon, so the electrons that create the current have more space to move, making this panel more efficient than one with polycrystalline cells. And in optimal sunlight conditions, the panel produces 10 watts per hour.

eco panel close

The silicon cells are set between a cushioned backing material and tempered solar glass to withstand the elements. The glass has low-iron content to provide exceptional transparency, which ensures maximum sunlight collection. Finally, the panel is framed with anodized marine-grade aluminum to resist rust and corrosion.

How It Installs

The system includes a 10-watt solar panel, a fuse protected battery cable, and all the necessary installation hardware.

The solar panel installs anywhere on your RV roof with included mounting feet and hardware. To maximize sunlight collection, it is important to install the panel where it avoids shadows cast by objects, like an air conditioner or vent. The panel uses a fuse protected cable to connect to the battery.

Note: This kit may require more wiring and additional parts depending on your RV setup.

Product was easy to install and smaller than the factory product It was cloudy and raining yesterday so I didn’t get a chance to see if it operates but I’m sure it will

by:

I installed this panel on the bow railing of our 30’ sailboat about 1 year ago to keep the 105 Amp Hour deep cycle house battery topped as the boat sits on her slip all the time. And so far it has done an excellent job, battery shows full charge any time we take the boat out. I did use a small marine grade charge controller (bought elsewhere) for piece of mind as the panel can produce peak voltage higher than the recommended charge of the Gel type battery I have connected. Good panel served us well for our need.

by:

I was under the mistaken idea that it came with a standard Furion male plug. It doesn't come with any plug on the output end. However, the unit appears very well made and easy to mount.

Works great. I have it hooked to the battery on my dump trailer so it is always fully charged.

  • Using Go Power 10 Watt Solar Panel Charging System to Trickle Charge 2 AGM 12V Batteries
I spoke with my contact at Go Power and he said that under good sun conditions and with limited to no power draw, the 10 Watt Solar Panel Charging System # 34273836 that you referenced should be enough to provide a sufficient trickle charge to your 2 AGM 12V batteries. The potential issue comes with a couple cloudy days in a row or when you draw more power from the battery as one 10 watt panel is going to be just enough without much wiggle room. Because of this going with 2 of the panels,...

  • Is There a Floor Mounting Bracket for the Go Power Eco Solar Charging System
The Go Power Eco Solar Charging System part # 34273836 is designed to be mounted on a roof therefore there isn't any sort of floor mounting bracket however that's not to stop you from simply propping the panel up against something so long as it is pointed towards the sun. I am sure you could make a mounting bracket of your own as well but there is not one premade for this.

  • Go Power Eco Solar Charging System for Trickle Charging RV Battery
What I think you are asking is if you can tap into a wiring system for the vent fan to back feed a charge from the Go Power Eco Solar Charging System - 10 Watt Solar Panel, # 34273836. While this is not the way this product is designed to operate, and I do not suggest doing this, it may be successful in sending a charge to the battery. Like water, electricity follows the path of least resistance so this may do so if there is not a protection diode preventing reverse current flow. In...

  • Is Solar Controller/Maintainer/Regulator Required for Go Power Eco Solar Kit # 34273836
I reached out to my contact at Go Power who said that a solar controller (or maintainer), which is what I believe you mean by regulator, isn't required for the Go Power Eco Solar Kit # 34273836 since it is a smaller unit. They did say that if you went any larger then they would recommend using one.

  • Does it Matter Which Positive and Negative Battery Terminals are Used When Connecting 2 6V Batteries
Yes, you can connect your 6V batteries so that the inside terminals are used for the trailer and the outside terminals are used to connect the batteries together like you mentioned. The diagram that we typically use (which I attached) is just a standard setup that people normally use. If you don't already have a way to charge your batteries I have attached a link to our selection of battery chargers that you can filter through.

What you are wanting to do is very possible with the GO Power Solar Panel kit part # 34273836. You could mount it on your pin box and then run the wiring to your batteries via an SAE connector. We don't have an SAE connector adapter but they are pretty easy to source.

  • Mounting Options For The Go Power Eco Solar Charging System 10 Watt Solar Panel
The Go Power Eco Solar Charging System - 10 Watt Solar Panel # 34273836 is designed to be mounted to the roof so it has the best opportunity to collect sunlight and with it being mounted to the roof it's a one time install instead of having to setup each time. That being said there is nothing stopping you from mounting it to a wooden board and placing it out in a sunny area and running the included cable directly to the battery.

  • Can Glue be Used to Install the Go Power Eco Solar Charging System # 34273836
I suppose if you were trying to avoid using the included mounting hardware for the Go Power Eco Solar Charging System # 34273836 then you could use glue if you wanted to. Personally I would be a little more worried about it if I was driving down the highway and knew that only some glue was holding it in place as opposed to hardware. Another downside to using glue is that it will be much more difficult to take off of your roof if you ever want to replace it or need to remove it. The wiring...

  • Can The Go Power Eco Solar Charging System Be Used With Another Battery Charger
The Go Power Eco Solar Charging System # 34273836 is only a trickle charger rated for 0.57 amps so you wouldn't really have an issue with it charging along with your battery charger but you can check if the charger reads the battery's charge level and changes it's charging mode based on it. Most likely it stops once the battery is fully charged and goes into a float mode to maintain the charge, but it wouldn't hurt to check.

  • Recommended Solar Panel To Keep Two 12 Volt Batteries Charged On Trailer
If you were to hook up a solar panel to a battery bank for maintenance charging while the batteries are not in use, you'll need some sort of charge regulator to prevent overcharging and subsequent damage. Therefore, the Go Power Eco Solar Charging System with Digital Solar Controller part # 34273837 is what I recommend which will do a great job of keeping the batteries topped off. The charge controller will prevent any issues with overcharging while the alternator is running as well.

The first thought people tend to jump to is charging an additional battery via the alternator. The problem with this solution is that unless you are only powering smaller accessories like cell phones the alternator won't be able to sufficiently charge your auxiliary battery. For this case a solar panel system like the Go Power Kit # 34273836 with an Entry Plate # 34276245 would be your best bet. It does not have a feature that supports usage of solar panels. If you store the RV close enough to connect to shore power, this is best option as you can plug in and use the onboard battery charger to maintain your battery bank. If not an option, I suggest you either remove your battery...

To operate one of the ComeUp DV-9 Off-Road Winches, like the part # CU856333 that you asked about, you'll need a 12V power supply. It doesn't look like there are any 24V winch options even from other manufacturers. You should be able to operate your landing gear jacks off of a deep cycle battery on your 5th wheel trailer. If you have been using your battery while camping then it is possible that it is simply depleted and doesn't have enough power to operate your landing gear. To add length to the power cable of the Go Power Eco Solar Charging System # 34273836 I'd use the part # 10-2-1 which we sell by the foot. This is a 10 gauge wire setup that since it's heavier won't have the same amperage and voltage drop as a thinner wire. Since the panel only produces up to 10 amps your loss would be minimal through a 10 gauge wire.
