E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Hub for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle or etrailer Easy Grease to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

The axle hub just what I needed at a good price. The box showed up when it was supposed to but had a big hole in the side(that’s what happens when you put a heavy metal object in a cardboard box…..) and the dust cap was missing. I called and talked to a human who spoke English and he resent the dust cap no questions asked. I will shop here again but it would be nice if packing was better everything showed up together.

Yeah, its very unfortunate that this is not uncommon to hear. I can assure you that we are actively working on improving our shipping methods, and hopefully by the next order you make, you dont have this same experience.

by:

Replaced both hubs on my 14-year-old sailboat trailer.
Took about 5 minutes per side. Super easy.

by:

Just like the video, more cost effective buy the entire kit. Worked perfect for my 35 year old utility trailer (3500lb Hayes axel)

Hubs working as expected. I bought these as a replace for a 30 year old trailer. The i loaded up trailer and pulled from SoCal to Cincinnati.

by:

My order was placed on March 26th, shipped on the 27th, today is April 8th and still no delivery. Customer service said after 14 business days, they would reship my order and use UPS instead of the postal service. Terrible customer service in my opinion!! I will NOT order from them again!!

by:

I use these on my boat trailer. I repack with marine grease. The quality is good. I've experienced no problems with these hubs.

by:

To be totally honest, I have nothing but good things to say about Etrailers customer service and products and this product is no different, works as it should with no issues. This review is totally honest, I wasn’t paid or encouraged to be only positive.

by:

Exactly what was needed for my 20 year old compressor thank you for helping to make sure I have the correct parts!

by:

Etrailer had just what I needed at a fair price and delivery was super fast. Excellent service!

by:

Finished one side, gotta get a cotter pin for this side. Kinda wish they came with cotter pins. Good product, I’ve used these hubs before on a different trailer and so far so good. Convenient that it’s greased already and assembled. Makes installation a breeze. Easy 5 minute job. Thanks etrailer!

by:

Very easy to do business with these folks! I really appreciated the great service.

I have pulled some 200 mile trips!! So far really good!

by:

Replaced 4 hubs on 2 trailers. Hubs were quality, well priced and they didnt slack on the grease. Saved lots of headache and time by just installing new rather than rebuilding old ones for customer

by:

Came sealed and ready to rock. Thank you eTrailer!

by:

Product was as described by Katie in customer service. Went together very easily!
I was upgrading my 2000 pound axle to a 3500 pound axle so we could haul a full cord of wood safely in my 6*10 trailer! I bought new everything and had it installed in about 3 hours.

by:

After being in storage, in a field, for more than 2 years, Water had contaminated the original hub, pitting the bearings and races and they had not been serviced since, at least 1999. I polished up the EZ lube spindles, flushed out the old grease and I was ready. Everything fit perfectly. It was aa perfect match. Used new Nuts and Washers. re-installed the Wheels and Tires, Torqued to 90-10lb. The old 6 x 4 Wells Cargo trailer is once again Ready for the coming rendezvous season.

by:

The installation was very easy.
I had
already pulled one hub, the bearings were still good but my lugs were rusted.
One was so bad that I needed to cut the lug and I decided rather than but lug sets and maybe change out the bearings, the cost if this complete kit and knowing it's all brand new makes more sense.
As others have said, you have to save the washer, cotter pin, and crown nut.
But everything else is there and it took me all of 8 minutes to install the one in the side I had already pulled the hub, it took 15 minutes to do the other side.
Just be careful when you push the hub onto the spindle to put a little pressure on the outer bearing
.
If you don't the grease will push it out and it will hit the ground.
I doubt it would damage it, but it would mean you would have to wipe it down to make sure you didn't get dirt, sand or anything else into the bearing.

by:

good quality, good price

by:

Great experience. I called etrailer about replacing some old boat trailer hubs and Emily was awesome finding what I needed with the sketchy information I gave her. They also shipped my order within a few hours.
The hubs were a 5 minute install and couldn't have been easier.
I'll be returning to etrailer for any more parts for this project.
Another happy customer!

by:

You cannot find this hub by navigation from etrailer website using their filter refining capability. But by looking at the pattern of item numbers, I tried a search by item number and found this gem. I like that it was way cheaper than any of the others offered, it is a pre-greased which eliminates a messy step. I've hauled that trailer many thousands of miles in the first year with no issues. I recommend this

by:

Very easy to install. Eliminates the mess created by stuffing grease in the bearings and saves time. Used these idler hubs for a drum to disc brake conversion and everything fit well together.

by:

Fit perfectly, price was good and arrived quickly. Will do business with e trailer again.

by:

I needed a new hub assembly for my boat trailer, but had no idea which one to get. I called E-trailer's customer support and the agent told me what to measure etc. I called them back with the requested info and they told me which assembly I needed, to include the two different sized bearings. The hub assembly fit perfectly. I was very pleased. It is of great quality and came with bearings, racers, lug nuts, grease seal and hub cover for zerk fittings. I was astonished with the low price for the entire kit. Their customer service is great, shipping is fast, and the products are top notch quality. I will use E-trailer for all my future trailer needs. They stand by their products.

Still a five star product. I travel from Columbus GA to Ft Walton Beach Fla several times a month 400 mile round trip The hub trails perfectly with no dogleg. The grease seal has not leaked at all and keeps the salt water out. I could not be more happy with this purchase.

by:

Easy to install. Having everything pre-assembled saved a lot of time.

by:

Next time I’m buying OEM. The bearings aren’t really ps packed with grease, the hub is just stuffed with grease. You can’t get to the back bearings to inspect or grease, so these hubs will only be good for a few years. The kit didn’t come with the easy lube, spindle nut, washers, or locking clip. I had to reuse my old hardware. This is the price difference between this item and the dexter one I should have bought.

This is a good product for the price, but you’ll get what you pay for.

so far, so good. just checked the bearings yesterday

by:

replaced the enter hub assembly, bearings, seal, and even grease zerk. lost everything when wheel came off my boat trailer. almost everything came in the hub kit for a complete rebuild except the zerk and grease, which i did also order from etrailer.com. the replacement went perfectly. all the parts were as good if not better quality than the original on the trailer. glad i did both sides cause if one goes, the other is not far behind. there videos are also very helpful.

I would be happy to go over the available options. Starting with changing the axle I recommend going with the Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension 2,200 lbs # ASR1THDS01 which would give you 6" from the hub face to the trailer frame which is plenty for the ST205/75R15 wheel and tire combination you purchased.
