Timbren Axle-Less Suspension to Fit on a Coleman Pop-Up Camper

Question:

I am interested in the Timbren axle-less trailer suspension. My trailers G.V.W.R. is 1810 and I dont have any water tanks so weight shouldnt be over 2000lbs. So will ASR1THDS03 work? whats the difference from off road and highway tires? I plan on staying on road but want the ground clearance. Does it matter? I also need hubs - I saw the TA88545-2 hubs ,will those work. This is for my remolded vintage 1978 Coleman popup tent trailer. I want to switch from the 4 lugs to a 5x4.5 hub. I have found some nice looking wheels on a different site, is there anything that needs to be known about these wheels Id like to buy so they will be compatible with these hubs? Thanks for your help in advance.

The Timbren Axle-Less system would be a great option to replace your current axle on your Coleman pop-up trailer.

The Timbren system that I like for your trailer is # ASR2KHDS04. This suspension has a 2000 lbs weight capacity and includes 4 inch lift spindles that will increase you ground clearance on your trailer.

Unlike the Timbren system, # ASR1THDS03, that you referenced, this suspension is designed to be used with regular trailer tires. This suspension axle system will have a smoother ride on highway travel due to its design and the use of the regular tires over off-road tires.

The Timbren Axle-Less system will use trailer idler hub # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K. These hubs will include bearings, races (installed), seals, EZ Lube dust cap, and new lug nuts.

This hub has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. If you are looking to get a wheel with this bolt pattern, then you also need to be aware of your clearances between the wheel and tire and the trailer with the Timbren axles installed.

I have included a couple of trailer tire and wheel articles to help figure out your new tire sizing. I also include a the drawing specs of the Timbren axle so you can see what the spacing between hub face and the axle will be when installed.
