Installation

This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies and some interior paneling to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the connector, run the red hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Excellent, Easy installation. for the pacifica its difficult to get the passenger wiring harness up thru the body. Theree isnt enough clearance fpr the plugs to fit thru. We ended up cutting the green wire about 2 in past the 2-in-1 junction. Then, fishing the long green wire thru the body and re-splicing it with a weatherproof connector. Much easier than fishingh the two connectors

by:
2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Installed without problem. Took about 2 hours by myself. But I also took more time trimming the under panel for a better fit than what the instructions called for. Now just have to wait for the wiring harness to come since it came from a different warehouse and I’ll be all set.

2019 Chrysler Pacifica

Won't be installing the electrical until this spring. Not needed for trailering right now.

2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Confirmed, fits a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. This product is not verified for the Pacifica hybrids but saw a forum post explain how that should not be an issue (just need to buy the correct connector for the light bulb type). My guess why this isn't confirmed by E trailer, theres a lot more components you need to fish through (i.e. batteries, inverter cables, etc.,.) That etrailer doesn't want to be liable. Just like the vid says, avoid hot items like the exhaust or moving parts like axles and you'll be fine.

2020 Chrysler Pacifica

Age 75. Alone, I installed the Draw-Tite Max hitch and Tekonsha T 1 vehicle wiring kit myself. I lifted the Pacifica rear 4" for better access. I also lifted the driver side 4" to install the power wire to the T 1 module. I used a 3' piece of 3/8 and 1/4 inch plastic tubing for 'fishing' the T 1 wires, power and tail lights. The left tail light requires some twisting and turning of the tubing to get the square module to pass upward through the body. I cut the heat shield and aero panel much less than suggested.

This fit my 2018 Pacifica Touring Plus! I compared a picture of the plug someone posted on this site to my taillight and they were the same. I took my time on the install and it took me about 1.5 hours. The 18' Pacifica has a bunch of under body shields that makes this install take longer. I have installed at least five of these harnesses on my vehicles and this one was very straightforward. I also purchased the Curt Class III hitch from etrailer and installed it a couple weeks ago. Attached is a picture of the taillight connector on my 18' Touring Plus. The difference in plugs between models is the position of the two tabs.

The
hitch and harness fit properly and was not to difficult with 3 guys working on the project. Had to remove the felt trunk protector, exhaust heat deflector and release the exhaust from the last 2 hangers to install the hitch. Replaced all after hitch was installed. Had to do some trimming of both exhaust heat protector and felt trunk protector. Took around 3 hrs for the install when using air / power tools. Nice fit and finish when done. Reasonable price and fast ship.

by:
2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Very nice product and connections are easy. Running the wires up to the lights and to the battery is a pain though. Be prepared to get frustrated. Also the driver side connector is pretty short so mount the box up as high into the bumper as you can get it.

by:

Very fast professional service

by:
2018 Chrysler Pacifica

install straightforward except drivers side connector was larger than passenger side and almost impossible to fish through. also the wires from that side were 12-18" short and had to put control module in an awkward spot, not at all like video. once installed all works fine. video was helpful in figuring out how to run power wire up to battery

by:

Fit like a glove, like it was designed for the vehicle (which it was). No problems with installation, but I'd say my skills are stronger than most.

by:
2020 Chrysler Pacifica

Wiring harness worked well. #118712 is the correct harness for a 2020 Pacifica, not the one recommended when ordering the Curt hitch.
The only problem was running the hot wire to the front of the vehicle as the entire undercarriage is covered with panels which need to be removed. A lift or ramps would help.

by:

Trailer hitch and wiring harness came quickly and in good order. However, the wiring harness connectors would not fit through the body panel because of internal supports and tail light wires, so I had to cut it and splice it under the car. Harness needs to be redesigned to fit through the small channel under the tail lights. Connectors were far too big to be pulled through.

Typically we dont recommend cutting into a wiring harness. The cavity below the taillight IS indeed a tight fit, but if the connectors are fed through one at a time, you should be able to get them through. To make things easier, a straightened wire coat hanger can be taped to the connector, and used to guide the connector through to the underside of the vehicle. This process is shown in the linked installation video.

Trailer hitch and wiring harness both working fine. Only problem was installing wire because connectors wouldn’t fit inside corner post. I had to cut wires, install them top down and then splice wires under car with heat shrink insulation. But that worked and I am happy with it. Thanks

by:

The hitch fit perfectly and the install videos on [online] were very helpful. I did have a problem with wiring harness. The interface plugs with the tail lights was good but the driver side harness has a large junction connector that I couldn’t snake through the body panel. I had to cut the two wires and then solder them back together. Other than great products

Working well. The wiring harness couldn’t be fished through the body due to the large connection sockets. Required cutting and Resplicing the wires.

by:
2017 Chrysler Pacifica

This is the 4th hitch wiring harness I have installed in 3 vehicles (the others were a '99 Audi A4 and an '08 Mazda 3), and it was by far the hardest. The instructions were sufficient, but fishing the wires through the body by the taillight was extraordinarily difficult. This was made worse when I had to do it a second time after discovering that there wasn't enough wire available to allow the tail-light to be mounted again.

All that is moot though, because the harness DIDN'T WORK. I have a 2017 Pacifica Hybrid, so I'm not sure if it's somehow different than the non-hybrid models, but none of the lights worked after install. I tried to troubleshoot with a fluke and confirmed that no signals were getting through the module to the 4-pin connector. Then as a last-ditch effort I tried to directly connect wires to the 4-pin connector without the power wire, thus destroying the harness by cutting wires; this was predictably unsuccessful.

In full disclosure, I also tried checking the signals on the taillight wires when using the brake and turn signals, and got completely unexpected results (e.g. brake wire with brakes on = 0V, vs 12V with brakes off). Clearly I don't understand how modern signal lights are wired, but then that's why I bought a kit.

Surprised that I seem to be the outlier here. Seems I either got a defective product, or there is something unique about the hybrid that makes it invalid...

The best method of troubleshooting is to check the input wires from the connection to the vehicle to the converter box, then the output wires from the converter to the trailer connector. If the signals are reaching the converter, but not leaving it, the converter is faulty. If no signals are reaching the converter, check the connections where the harness plugs inline with the vehicle wiring, making sure they are fully plugged in. Make sure the fuse is installed in the yellow fuse holder where the power wire attaches to the battery. For more troubleshooting info, use the provided link.

Works perfectly!

After professional installation (mostly for the electrical hookup) I have to say that I am very pleased with the quality and the sturdiness of this product. I have used it occasionally on my minivan For some medium weight trailering and I have had no problems. I highly recommend this product.

Jeffrey K.

No issues with multiple uses. The harness was professionally installed by a reputable shop.

by:

In all the years I’ve ordered hitches from you, this is the first time my hitch came wrapped in plastic and not in a box. Hitch looks “used” due to all the scratches from shipping…. Hope this isn’t your new way of packaging

by:

Seems to work well. install was a pain, mostly due to under body covers and the reduced tail light space to feed wires in and to store the extra wires / connecters on the Pacifica. But this is still the best alternative. As I recall, I was able to get the left side connectors fished into taillight area . But right side was extremely difficult to get the wires pulled thru. So i cut the wires about a foot from the power module and fished the cut ends down thru the tail light assembly area , then spliced wires. I would recommend a smaller connector on tail light ends and a matching connector on the power wires to the tail light adapters. then it would be easier to pull in the wires from the underside and the added connector would be up in a drier protected area. I was able to fish the main power wire to the front of van without removing additional underbody shields. I protected much of my new wiring with corrugated split wiring conduit. Very limited mounting options for the power / converter module partly due to minimal wire lengths and partly due to the vehicle type . One year later; you probably should send this out earlier while install issues are fresh in mind.

by:
2017 Chrysler Pacifica

It would have been a lot easier to install wiring harness using a lift. It took a lot longer than anticipated, but the end result was good.

Works as advertised.

Overall no complaints. Connectors are of good quality and plenty of wire is provided. I installed this kit on a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Limited. Routing the T plugs up to the taillights was an extreme pain due to the lack of free space below the taillights behind the bumper cover. The rest of the installation was a breeze. Note I installed this wiring kit at the same time I installed a hitch so the rear belly pan was removed. I highly recommend taking that down (just a few screws) to give better access.

This is the second hitch kit that I have purchased from etrailer. The fit is amazing, product is high quality my first one was for my Saturn Outlook and it still looks great after years of use. My second is for my Pacifica. The wiring kits are simple and great fit.
I highly recommend this company you will not regret your purchase!
