Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Round Tube Slider - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs
part number: RP30075

Fifth-wheel trailer hitch provides excellent jaw-to-king-pin contact with a 2-jaw latching system. Non-binding, round-tube slider helps to eliminate clearance concerns during slow-speed turns. Rails and installation kit sold separately.

Features:

  • 2-Jaw locking system provides more jaw-to-king-pin contact than slide-bar models
    • Less rattle
    • Greater security
  • Round-tube slider provides clearance required for your short-bed pickup to turn safely at slow speeds
    • Prevents trailer from hitting the cab of your pickup during sharp, slow-speed turns
    • Inhibits binding and provides smooth operation
  • 4-Way pivoting head eases hookup on unlevel ground
  • 3" Height adjustment
  • Wide stance offers excellent stability
  • Black powder coat finish resists corrosion
  • Locking handle has cushioned grip
  • Above-bed rails and mounting kit sold separately
    • Fits Curt, Valley, Draw-Tite, Hidden-Hitch and Reese base rails
    • Cut installation time in half by using a vehicle-specific bracket kit instead of the universal kit

Specs:

  • Gross towing weight: 16,000 lbs
  • Vertical load limit: 4,000 lbs
  • Installed hitch height (including rails): 15" - 18"
  • Travel: 11" front to back
  • 5-Year limited warranty

Note: This fifth-wheel trailer hitch will not fit pickups with beds shorter than 6'. It also will not fit trucks with flareside/stepside bed. A minimum 13" extended trailer pin box is recommended. If using a slider, hitch will not adjust to lowest height setting.

Reese Double Jaw

Secure, 2-Piece Jaw

Unlike the more economical slide-bar models, the rounded, 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Round-Tube Slider

Most often used on trucks with 6' beds, this roller helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.

Was looking for a bolt on kit for bare frame rails for a hotshot truck. These require support in the middle (at least one center bolt in each rail). Ended up having a fabricator weld a plate for support and mount the rails to that. But I guess that's reasonable for a universal kit.

This Universal Rail Kit installed with relative ease and the included instructions were clear and easy to follow.

You can find the instructions on our website, right here on the product page. Look for the "Installation Details" link closer to the top of the page.

This hitch has a feature or two we didn't even expect. It was an easy install and is performing great. Plenty of maneuverability and rock stable. etrailer's service was incredible and stayed on top of the delivery until we got it. We thought they went the second mile to make sure we got our hitch.

by: Cale09/11/2023

Worked perfect used with airlift AL57298. Didn’t see any picture of universal rails and air bag kit working togther.

by: Bryan02/20/2019

Best value for the money! I have used this hitch for a season now and I must say, it's worked out great. I use a Teflon plate with it and this hitch doesn't have much play in it going down the road. I have not had any issues with it sliding when locked.

I am very impressed with the fit and finish. Packaging from etrailer.com was inadequate. UPS man unloaded the package, rang the doorbell and drove away before I got outside. There was a lock washer laying on the ground and a bracket was hanging out of the box. We opened the package and inventoried everything, and to my amazement everything was there. Ordering process was very easy and my order shipped quickly. While on my lunch break at work I added 6 items to my cart and printed it so I could complete the order when I got home. About 4 hours later 3 of the 6 items increased in price. This hitch increased in price by $2, not a big deal I guess. I was able to find this item about $12 cheaper at another retailer and I provided this information to etrailer.com. Within a few hours they refunded me 110% of the difference. I am installing this on a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 short bed and the instructions are lacking. Maybe a professional installer who has done this many times would not have any problems, but the instructions leave some things to your imagination.

Working great after one year of use. Use it to tow a 30 gooseneck trailer and it has worked as advertised. I bought a used 5th wheel hitch and although I have never used it, it fits perfectly in the rail system.

by: Cindy B08/11/2016

purchased just the rails for 5th wheel receiver as we bought a used camper and the Reese Easy Loader came with it but owner did not want to remove rails from their truck. Technician was excellent in helping with installation and emailed us directions specific to my truck. Shipping was quick and install went well. We had room to use 12 bolts vs 10 so we did. We did install 1" forward in bed as we had room to do it. Better more forward when hauling. The knurled bolts were too short for our truck bed and we called and let them know. We had our own that were longer so no delay in install.

Fantastic!! In fact we just removed the hitch for the first time and rails are no issue in truck bed. Easy ineasy out after rails installed.

The kit arrived very quickly, in fact shipping was moved from "5 to 7 days" to "3 to 5 days"and arrived in 5 day. During Christmas rush this was great, and really appreciated. I ask a technician friend to install it for me. It went together very nicely.

I am rating this as EXCELLENT, do to the ease of installation an the escallation of the shipping arrangement. Thank You for a great product and great service.

I sent an email and was very pleased to get a response the next day, It was a universal kit RP30035, I had to make spacers for 3 of the frame brackets, the gaps were all over the map no matter how much I squared it up, all in all I'm pleased.

2015 Ford F-150

Installed these rails with the short bed Reese bracket kit for 2015 or newer f150. Installation went well. Instructions were pretty straight forward but measurements from end of bed were not quite right and put the rails too far forward of the underbed brackets by about 2". I actually measured off the cross rails under the bed of the truck after I had installed the brackets.

Helpful hint: after getting a hole drilled on either side of the front rail to secure it to brackets under bed, put the hitch on both rails which will line up the rear rail exactly right then drill the rest of your mounting holes.

The included spacers are not quite thick enough and have come out from between the rails and bottom of the bed a few times even after I tightened bolts so much, bed started to bend. Have to find some other Shem's to make it tight enough.

I would recommend these rails eventhough it took a little bit to get them in the right location.

PS - Be very careful when drilling holes on driver side as you are right over the gas tank.

I've had this system installed in my 1996 Ford F150 for a year now. I did the installation myself and found it to be relatively easy. I had to remove the rear tires to give better access to the frame, but after I did that drilling the needed holes and bolting in the brackets was straight foward. I use these rails with a gooseneck plate and have had no trouble pulling anything yet.

by: Zach08/14/2021
2006 Chevrolet Silverado

Original package was damaged by UPS somewhere during transport and delivery. etrailer made it very easy to get the missing part (smaller mounting bracket fell out of box somewhere) and instead of just sending the one part they re sent the bolt kit, all four mounting brackets, and a new pull cord. So basically the entire assembly other than the base rails. Could’nt be happier and will post pictures as soon as it’s installed

I installed this kit in my 2006 Silverado 2500HD to hold a Reese 16k sliding hitch. The kit is very well built and had more parts than required to complete the installation. Once installed, works great and am very pleased!

The work itself is cumbersome and a couple things to be aware of. First, I squared and centered the rails as required. Before I drilled in the bed, I set the hitch in the rails and they moved slightly and had to recenter. This only tops a few minutes but I recommend setting the hitch in the rails before drilling. Second, the alignment for the front chassis brackets was challenging. You have to drill the bottom two bolt holes to ensure you can get a wrench in the nuts as the frame is enclosed there and reaching around the tank and brake lines. The instructions were not specific as to which holes to drill.

Excellent quality products from Reese along with great service and pricing from e-trailer. Been towing stuff my entire life ever since my first tonka truck. etrailer has never steered me wrong and has always had the correct items i needed and never things i didn’t. Needed 5th rails for a 99 F-250 bam etrailer got it. Needed a receiver hitch for my mother in laws van no challenge there. Needed wiring harness and brake controller for highlander it will be here Wednesday. Great selection and prices and fast shipping that rivals other giant online retailers.

by: Gerald 03/17/2021

once i finally got the bottom platform to fit it went together quite well. It is really heavy for a 74 year old to wrestle around but i have a 40 year old son to help. Have never had to slide it back to back the fifth wheel up but have not had any close quarters to deal with. I would imagine that one of these made out of aluminum would be really expensive and probably not as strong.

Great 5th wheel trailer hitch product. Great customer service.

by: E.P.08/22/2017

Installation went as printed, took two of us 4 hrs. instead of 2, but I am a perfection freak, centered within 1/32" . Have not used it yet, but will be shortly. Installed to specs provided. Will purchase next hitch from etrailer, Did not call for help, but good to know they were there if needed.

by: Josh S. 10/31/2016

Product is as it was described. Straight forward installation. Only problem I had was minor shipping damage. The ear of the 5th wheel plate was bent from it being dropped I would guess. Better packaging would've solved this...

  • Can Reese 16k Hitch Head Fit on Square Tube Slider Base

Reese has this comment listed on other hitches as well, they just want to ensure you have enough clearance for turning. This is also why it is identified as not for use with a truck

The trailer measurement minus the truck measurement of 36" that you got will give you the height that your fifth wheel hitch will need to sit at to tow your trailer level. For example, if your truck measurement is 36" and your trailer measurement is 53" then you'll need to have your hitch's height set at 17" for your trailer to ride level. Another

  • The rear rail edge of the part # RP30035 will sit 28-5/16 inches from the rear edge of the bed of your 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 short bed. And then you'd use the hitch to place the front rail once the rear one is set. This ensures that the hitch will fit the rails as easily as possible.

  • If you are using a universal installation kit such as # RP30035 on your 1994 Chevy long bed pick up then the measurement from the rear edge of the bed (not the tailgate) to the back edge of the rear rail will be 30-15/16 inches. • Compatibility of PullRite 4100 16K 5th Wheel Hitch with Universal Rails in 2002 Chevy 2500 Short Bed
  • Your PullRite 16K 4100 model 5th wheel hitch is compatible with the industry standard base rails like # RP30035 already mounted in your 2002 Chevy 2500 short bed when you use the 4409 adapter from PullRite. We do not carry that part, but it will make your rails compatible with your hitch. You may also want to add a 5th wheel wiring harness like the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug # 41157 to give you easy connection access and a clean look.

  • Recommendation for Installing Fifth Wheel Hitch On 2014 Ram 3500 with Gooseneck Hitch
  • We have one possible easy solution for your, but it will require the hitch you have installed in the bed of your 2014 Ram 3500 to be a B and W Turnoverball gooseneck like the part # BWGNRK1314 which is a fit for your truck. If this is the hitch you have then to install a fift wheel hitch will require only the part # BWRVK3500 for a fixed hitch or part # BWRVK3400 for a slider hitch. You'll need the slider if you have a short bed truck for turning clearance or if you have a long bed

  • Can Fifth Wheel Base Rails Installation Be Drilled From Under Truck Bed
  • When installing a fifth wheel in your F-250 truck bed you will need to cut the plastic liner away to make sure it is in the correct location and installed properly. I have attached a link to a video that shows how a bed liner can be trimmed for base rail installation you can check out. This may be a different truck but it does give a good demonstration how the rails can be installed.

  • Placement of Bed Rails in Bed of 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 for Reese 30035 5th Wheel Install Kit
  • If you click the provided link, you can see the installation instructions. The instructions specific to your 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 begin on sheet 13, and measurements are shown. The rearmost bed rail would be installed so its back edge is 32-7/16 inches forward of the rear edge of the truck bed, and the hitch itself would be used to place the front rail. When the hitch is installed, the king pin center will sit about 2 inches forward of the rear axle centerline. You'd need a 3/16, a

  • Install Brackets for Fifth Wheel Hitch on 2010 GMC Sierra
  • The #RP30035 install kit should work fine with your new Sierra, although I would recommend using new hardware, part # RP30439. We do offer a custom install bracket kit for the 2010 Sierra with the 6.5 or 8 foot bed, part # RP50064. This kit includes the brackets and the hardware, and would allow you to use your existing bed rails. The advantage of using this kit is that it usually takes about half the time to complete the installation. I will provide a link to the install instructions

  • 5th Wheel Base Rail Kit for 2008 Ford F-150 for RBW LR1000 5th Wheel Hitch
  • RBW makes several versions of their Lil Rocker 5th wheel hitch and the LR1000 is the version that fits into industry-standard 5th wheel base rails (ISRs). Since these rails are all standardized you can use an RBW hitch in a base rail kit from another maker. If you have an 8-foot bed you can use a fixed (non-sliding) hitch like the LR1000. Short bed require either a slider hitch or a Sidewinder replacement pin box on the trailer, both of which extend your turning clearance between the trailer

  • 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation Kit for a 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 and Husky 5th Wheel Hitch
  • The 2010 Chevy Silverado 2500 and 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 use different under bed brackets so you would not be able to reuse the brackets but you can reuse the rails. For the brackets and hardware only you can either use # HT31852 or # HT31853. Another option is to use a different kit and get all new parts. the Reese universal kit # RP30035 costs less as a complete kit than either of the bracket kits above. But since it is a universal kit there is drilling into the truck frame required.

  • 5th Wheel Install Kit for a Valley Power Pull Hitch and 1995 Ford F-350
  • Your Valley Power Pull 5th wheel trailer hitch will fit in industry standard above-the-bed rails from Reese, Husky, and Pro Series. For your 1995 Ford F-350 I recommend universal installation kit # RP30035. The universal kit is a lower cost option but does require drilling into the truck frame and takes longer to install compared to custom fit kits.

  • Using Fifth Wheel Install Kit from 2006 Silverado on 2011 Silverado
  • If you have used the universal install kit # RP30035, the brackets are compatible with your new truck. If you used the custom frame brackets on your old truck, they are not compatible and will not work. We offer the custom brackets for your 2011 model. Part # RP50066-58 includes the frame brackets, bed rails and hardware. If you only need the frame brackets and the hardware, use part # RP50066. If you were going to reuse the universal brackets on your new truck, I would suggest going

  • Installing Reese RP30035 5th Wheel Install Rails in 1996 Ford F-350
  • Reese doesn't provide that particular measurement, but I'd be happy to help you to place those rails in the correct position. To correctly place the bed rails, the rear edge of the rear-most rail is placed so that it is 32-1/2 inches forward of the rear edge of the truck bed (the rear edge of the bed, not the tailgate). I've provided the page from the instructions that shows exactly how the rear rail is placed. Once the correct location for the rear rail is marked and the rear rail
