Fifth Wheel Hitch and Rail Kit for 2014 Chevy Silverado 2500 Towing 2018 Chaparral 30RLS

Question:

Do I need a Fith Wheel Hitch with rollers to tow my 2018 Chaparral 30RLS with the Turntec engineering? The truck has a 6 1/2 foot bed.

The nose of your trailer is tapered in such a way that it allows the trailer to be towed with a short bed truck like your 2014 Chevy Silverado 2500 and not need a slider/roller hitch. You can use a stationary hitch and you'll have the turning clearance you need with that trailer.

So for a stationary hitch the Reese 16 part # RP30075 would be a great option. It has a 16k capacity, a 360 degree contact jaw design and a cushioned head to provide a smooth ride.

For a rail kit I would recommend going with a custom install kit like the part # RP56001-53 as it will be the easiest to install by far. It installs on the outboard side of the frame rails so it makes the job very easy.
